Something has been bothering me for a while, and now I'm gonna say it:

We should stop glorifying self harm.

Yes, I'm talking about our dear Till and his little head banging stunt on stage.

I know it's little late already with this tour, but as a fandom, we shouldn't share those head banging videos and treat them like they are amusing and entertaining. Instead we should take them as they are; a 59 year old man is banging his head to a pole every night so hard that it bleeds and leaves a wound, visible for days. That banging can lead to serious injury, internal bleeding and even death.

We also need to show Till that we love him and come and see him, and worship him even without him needing to hurt himself. Because if he does it because he thinks we fans want it and need it.. we have failed as fans.

And before any of you come to me with that "That's Till, he likes pain, he has done it for years"...

If something has been happening for years, does it make it ok and acceptable? Or too late to say enough is enough, don't do that to yourself? NO. We need to act before something bad happens.

Also, liking pain and self harm are two completely different things. Liking pain can lead to piercings, tattoos, spanking, etc, BUT IT IS NOT torturing yourself to death.

No, he has not done this for years. He used to beat himself with a microphone; that's not good either, but it was much lighter than a freaking STEEL POLE. Plus not to mention his age: his bones are getting more fragile.

And once again in a nutshell: STOP spreading the videos and instead SPREAD the message that we love him without all this self harm.

What an amazing experience it was! We managed to get a spot right next to the front fence in the general area, and therefore got to witness the band move to the small stage for Engel performance. I personally got a high five from Paul, Schneider and Richard ❤

I guess it's finally time for my personal Rammstein story.

The short version: one time, years ago, when I was feeling very ill, Till sang me to sleep ❤

Long version (btw, This happened before I was a fan): Rammstein were performing in my city, and the performance area was just a stone throw away from where I was living. I was down with a very bad flu, and staying at home that night. It was really warm, so I left the window open when I was going to bed.. and then, there I was, laying in my bed, listening to Rammstein perform live. It was so clear, I could sing along easily if I wanted to. And the last thing I remember was falling asleep as Till was singing 'Sonne', powerfully but somehow gently at the same time.

Like I said, I wasn't really a fan back then, but I remember that it was a such a emotional moment. I wasn't there, but it still felt like Till was right there, singing to me alone. I slept so peacefully that night; and I guess I also became a fan at that moment.

Why did I wanted to share this? Because today.. I will finally see them live. For real. ❤

This is a subject that I have been thinking about bringing up myself, so lucky this question came up.

Adults can suck their thumbs as a way of coping with stress or anxiety. It's not necessarily caused by any specific trauma, more like a habit that just stuck with them.

This would explain why Till is doing it on stage; we all know he gets anxious during performances. Maybe it serves two purposes; it calms him down, and brings a slightly disturbing element to their show.

But what really bothers me is that he was sucking his thumb in one of the scenes in Till the End. And while on stage it looks like a part of the performance and faked, in Till the End it looked more like a genuine reaction. But why would he feel so anxious in that situation: was it because of what the girl was doing to him, or because he was filmed during it?

My question is does anybody know why Till sucks his thumb? I wanna call it cute but if it’s trauma related then I won’t. I’m just really curious.

I have no clue if it's trauma related, but if that was the case, I doubt he would do it so much on stage.

I think it was just a thing he did as a little kid (ie his thumbsucker's teeth) that carried over to the stage to add some more conflictory feelings to the audience. Play on some maternal instincts while also having some phallic imagery in the same token to really drive in the... discomfort???

Idk, I'm probably reading waaaay too much into it, but yeah. That's my opinion on it.
