Cult of the Lamb - Cinderella style

The Lamb as Cinderella. Only instead of an evil stepmother and step sisters, it’s a wildly incapable and needy Death cult who haven’t given The Lamb two minutes to themselves in ages.

Narinder as Prince Charming Death. Only instead of being imprisoned by the rest of the bishops, he’s being harassed by his sibling to take a spouse. (They hope having a partner will 1/ keep him from going any further with his ‘experimental rituals’ and 2/ talk him down from dumb shit) (lol jks on them the Lamb is encouraging this shit)

The Bishops but especially Shamura as the King role. Maybe one of Narinder’s experiments caused their injuries instead of him and that’s why he’s reluctantly agreeing to this.

(The bishops are still gods or just very powerful monarchs that rule the lands)

Ratau as the fairy god-rat. He gives The Lamb their funky red fleece and maybe the red crown as a way of preventing any cultists that are attending the party? feast? bride hunt? What ever from recognising their leader or realising they’re gone for the night.

OH WAIT THE RED CROWN AS THE GLASS SLIPPER. IM A GENIUS

The Lamb looses the crown at midnight and basically had to hightail it back to the cult before someone realises they are unsupervised and starts dissenting or eating poop.

Narinder only realised that the crown is something he gave his previous vessel/cult leader and why does this lamb have it now. (Ratau is fucking old dude. He’s retired and you forgot to send a replacement so he picked his own)

Cue the hunt with Aym and Baal as like the guys who actually go look for Cinder-Lamb.

fandom etiquette reminders

gentle reminder that people do not have to like/ship the popular ships in a fandom. widely popularized ships do not equal canon ships and even if they were, people are allowed to have different pairings they prefer. if one fandom creator popularized things, it does not mean that every single other creator has to also do that thing.

please be respectful and considerate of the people making free content for your enjoyment as well - you never know whats going on on the other end of the screen to cause an author to not upload a new chapter or why the artist hasn't posted new art in three weeks. their boundaries are just as important as anyone else's and deserve to be respected as a basic human right.

if you're a minor, do not participate in 18+ spaces! this is for your safety as well as the safety of everyone else. if anyone over the age of 18 insists its okay for you to participate in nsfw topics with them, run. be careful with what you're posting online, too. you never know who has ill intent when interacting with you.

be also incredibly mindful that not everyone wants to participate in fandom discourse. proship/antiship discourse, ship wars, "what are your thoughts on [insert problem here]", - these are good and fun in their own respects, but can be incredibly distressing if brought up out of nowhere.

Rereading the Lord of the Rings series recently, and it's so fascinating to me how much the series is a denial of the typical juvenile power-fantasy that is associated with the fantasy genre.

Like, the power-fantasy is the temptation the Ring uses against people It tempts Boromir with becoming the "one true king" that could save his people with fantastic power. It tempts Sam with being the savior of Middle Earth and turning the ruin that is Mordor into a great garden. It tempts Gandalf and Galadriel with being the messianic figure of legend who brings salvation to Middle Earth and great glory to herself.

The things the Ring tempts people with are becoming the typical protagonists of fantasy stories that we expect to see. and over and over we see that accepting that role, that fantasy of being the benevolent all-powerful hero, is a bad thing. LotR is about how power, even power wielded with benevolent intent, is corrupting.

And its so fascinating how so much of modern fantasy buys into the very fantasy LotR denies. Most modern fantasy is about being that Heroic power-fantasy. About good amassing power to rival evil. But LotR dares not to. It dares to be honest that there is no world where anyone amasses that power and remains good.

I guess that's one of the reasons its so compelling.

When you are alone and have a heart attack. What are you gonna do then?
