I used 2 color layers (very dark brown) in the GNU program to achieve this affect. The first one I put in "HSV Saturation" setting at 100%. Then I merged those layers down and put the next affect, the same color layer (copied before it got merged) and set it to "grain merge," at around 68%.

I'm making a music video and was going to use the hugging pictures, and it bugged me how Angie was whitewashed on what is otherwise a very cute picture, so I stopped and tried to see what I could do. (Canon pic is the bottom one, my edit is the top one. I had an Angie sprite on another layer so I could reference how close the end result was, and I think it's accurate.)

That makes sense. I can see an arc where Nagito would do the exercises and listen to him but he doesn't believe Kaito's praise at first, and that makes Kaito more determined to get Nagito to believe in himself.
