A Hard Day's Night: A 16yo's (horrible) album review pt.3

A Hard Day's Night: Catchy, she's so nice! She's like, a classic. Wasn't there that movie made with this same name or am I tripping? Dude making these reviews is like, giving me carpal tunnel I've never typed this much b4 !! Erm,,, but yea :/ this song is just a classic that's all I gotta say !!!

I Should Have Known Better: Harmonica goes insane honestly. Uh this song confused me 😭 like. i'm stupid??? I don't know girls this one through me for a loop. At first I was like, "Dang this girl's a runner she's out with other guys '-'" and then for a brief moment I was like no, "Okay maybe she's loyal she's just stupid and doesn't know what to say when the guy compliments her or something" I'm leaning towards the second option but the title still trips me up like, I should have known better what is that supposed to mean 😭😭??? Likeee,, "I should have known better that a girl like you would run off with different men" or "I should have known better that a ditzy girl like you wouldn't know what to say when I told you I love you" ?? I'm confuseddddd. Maybe I'm stupid. Help me 😭😭!!

If I Fell: THE DRUMS!?? Hellooo?? They're so cute !!!! They're so faint yet full it's so.. uh girl idk they're striking a chord with me. Was there a looping machine ??? Was that a thing in the 60s ?? If not that steady hand work was AMAZING. Good Job Ringo! 👍 Anyway yeah I'm familiar with this song already, she's another sister to me I love her!

I'm Happy Just To Dance With You: This song has like, melancholic undertones 😭 it makes me depressed. Not like, super sad but it's like, "Once this dance is over, I'll still love you" or something like that. Idk she's just so sad :(((( but I actually really like this track ! She's so sad I love it!!!

And I Love Her: erm, she's a bit too slow and sweet for me! I can imagine that under the right circumstances this song would be an absolute banger and just get me in my feels but right now a loud english class probs isn't the environment for this music idk.. but uhhhhh yeah. I WASN'T bored per se just mildly amused by her.

Tell Me Why: Girlllll we're getting drama???? Why this girl crying 😭 and lying ?! 😭😭 I'll tell you what these girls are! toxiccccc !!! Is it the same girl or multiple?? Because omg it's actually insane these girls are crazy or this one particular girl is just an absolute mad woman I can't tell 😭😭 uh but overall it's a pretty energetic song it's pretty good 👍

Can't Buy Me Love: Okay I heard the first line or whatever and I was like, "sugar daddy :3" what. girl nevermind. He wants a girl who doesn't want material things from him that's so sweet!! Apparently Paul and John turned their backs on Money from their previous album but whatevs I get it. Sometimes people are in a mood 👀. Uh I liked the song but the girl could bark she was a little loud for me idk 😭

Any Time At All: This song sounds a bit more modern idk but oh em gee he's gonna be there for you! Not in like a romantic way (but it could totally be seen as such) but in like a friendly sweet way !! Super cute idea for a song. Unfortunately Bruno Mars has already capitalized on such an idea with that one song that I cannot remember for the life of me rn idk

I'll Cry Instead: Teehee this song is evil >:3 !!! Revenge is real and this girl is gonna be a victim!!! I love itttt it's so catchy and just makes you wanna bop your head along with it. 10/10 for her, she was exquisite.

Things We Said Today: A parting song 🤨 hmm interestinggggg. Girl they had A LOT to say in this apparently 'cause looking at the lyrics, it reads like a short story. I mean, I know that is technically what a song is but most of the time the songs read like poems this one goes crazy (and yes I know, some parts are repeated) but OMG she was a lot !!! Charming track but I didn't really groove with this one!!!

When I Get Home: okay when I read the title I thought this song was a threat I'm not gonna lie to you 😭😭.. it still seems like a threat to me. ALSO these songs need some gut to them !! These tracks have the potential to sound more angry but they won't do it and I'm trying to understand why. The Beatles have made some angry sounding songs before (but that's for a later albums) and they've all sounded fantastic. I get that the songs at the time (60s) were all lovey dovey and cute and not so aggressive but RAAHHHHH it's so frustrating to hear the same thing over and over again. But anyway yeah I feel like this song was just too repetitive for me :/ EDIT: okay listened to this song multiple times I completely misunderstood it but the rant is STAYING !!!!!

You Can't Do That: uh this girl's a runner !!! Quick someone get her, someone watch her 😭😭😭 this song is a pretty tame response to the knowledge that your girl is talking to other people. Also this dude is oddly obsessed with his reputation like, boy, reputation don't mean nothing if your girl doesn't even respect you that much ?? I don't know i've been mean with these reviews don't mind me I'm just crazyyyy this album review has been a mess 😭

I'll Be Back: this relationship is not healthy wut. He left her just to see if she would chase after him. You know what good on you girl 'cause that was a crazy thing to do on his part. Uhm overall (despite the weirdness in the relationship dynamic) I think it was the perfect track to close out an album with. It's not using all the tricks in the playbook but it's also not completely lacking either !! It's was also a very chillaxed song and not too overbearing. I liked it!! Probs won't listen again but idk I could totally be lying don't listen to me!

With The Beatles: A 16yo's (horrible) album review pt.2 !!

It Won't Be Long 🚆: Erm, the guitar is just *mwah* chef's kiss it really carries the song, she's the backbone. She's like, duh do do duh do and it's so cute. The background vocals are eating so good !! This song I think was the most prominent to me because I remember it from Across the Universe (incredible movie btw) . Really love this song, she's like a sister to me.

All I've Gotta Do !: Honestly would have done numbers in the 2010s because I feel like it has really good "call and response" potential !! Like, uh that one song,,,, I can't remember uhh oh Ain't No Mountain High Enough . I know I keep saying this but this song IS cute ! Also so far I've noticed they're utilizing back up vocals more which is much appreciated, I hope I hear it in the rest of the tracks on this album.

All My Loving 💗: Yay! More background vocals !! I go feral for them. The guitar is also SO good. If It Won't Be Long is a sister to me this song is my brother. Heard this one a lot growing up as well. Background vocals are heavenly the little , "ooooooos" in the background are so dreamy !!

Don't Bother Me 😔: okay first initial listen it reminded me of when my I would lose my mom in the store 😭😭 my forever "lost mom in the store" anthem !! Uhm, didn't quite jive with the rhythm but that's alright !! But it is a good song!! The dude's a little bit too dependent on that lady maybe her leaving was a good thing ??? idk I'm only guessing 😭

Little Child 🚸: uhm, I'm scared. girl they're gonna catch a case !! If a grown men in their 20s sang this to me I'd be like ,"Oh okay I'm gonna groove with y'all 'cause the beat is funky but the lyrics are concerning so idk might wanna work on that"

Till There Was You 🫵: oh. em. gee. La Vie En Rose who???? Girl this song is swoonworthy !! If a guy was like, "I used to never hear the birds singing before I met you, now that's all I hear" I'd cry OMG 😭😭 also it's just paul singing and like, omg it's so simple but it's simplicity totally makes it amazing !! It feels more personal that way !!! EDIT: OMG IM INJECTING THIS IN MY BLOODSTREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's so amazingly awesome oh em gee I'm actually addicted it's not funny ! Oh my god I'm gonna explode!! Dopamine is real and I'm experiencing the effects, the world beautiful again !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please Mister Postman ✉️: this is a pretty good cover. Background vocals are once again in the spotlight they're just too good. The iconic beatles sound really starts to take shape in this album I've noticed !! Ringo did a good job on drums too !! Total rock and roll vibe. I was gonna compare it to another band it felt weird because it's like saying the parent sounds like the child and like no wdym the kid sounds like the parent !! I forget how much The Beatles really pioneered music !!!

Roll Over Beethoven 🎹: whaaaaa. man this track was a doozy ! They're cocky and it's workin'. Totally can see enthusiastic young couples totally jammin' to this it's so great ! Really loved the energy !!! Also that guitar solo is the beginning was AMAZEBALLS

Hold Me Tight 🥺: Whoa. This song is my second sister. This track was THE song at the beginning of my Beatles beginning when I was but a wee little girl lolll it's just so addictive. Makes me bop my head and smile everytime I hear it. The endorphins swarmed this one guys sorry 😔

You Really Got A Hold On Me 💕: Contradictions left and right !! Rhythm was a gentle little ebb and flow that was kinda refreshing to hear !! Liked the song.

I Wanna Be Your Man ♂️: whoa. Straightforward!! Some girls might like that in a man but uhm, idk the chanting of "I wanna be your man, I wanna be your lover" with the stark black and white of their faces on the album cover got me scared 😭😭 idk it was nightmare fuel I felt like someone was watching me. Uh but overall it was a high energy song maybe a bit too high energy for me 'cause I'm tired while writing this review but it wasn't really my preferred choice in music but I totally see me liking it like, a month from now !!

Devil In Her Heart ❤️: Maracas ?? 🤨whaarrrrr but uhm this one just felt like another song honestly. As I'm writing this review it's like, my 10th listen in the span of 3 days she's just not clicking 😭😭

Not A Second Time ⏰: Honestly the first few listens she felt bland like unseasoned chicken but now that I'm really listening it's got a simple little jive to her and I'm here for it !! It's got these vocal runs that I don't think I've heard before it's so unique!! Overall really liked her.

Money 💰: uh pink floyd who ???? But seriously this song rocks. Not the catchiest but it's true, she's REAL. I need MONEY

Please Please Me: A 16yo's (horrible) album review

I Saw Her Standing There 🧍: She was just 17 apparently! Honestly I reallyyyy like the song !! She's electric and vibrant. Uber catchy and is kinda adorbs ! I'm not 17 but I shall imagine that this song captures what it's like to be 17 in some way, shape, or form ( hopefully, maybe not idk ).

Misery 💧: uh, babe it's giving break up !!! If I made a song like this all I'd hear is "God stop wallowing in self pity and get yourself back up there !!" But sometimes people need a little time to rot in their feels and I think this song is great for that !!! It's not super catchy but overall I didn't hate it. Music doesn't need to be catchy to be good >:3

Anna (Go To Him) 💍: I LOVE ITTTTTT. Man, Anna's a meanie girl ! What she did was dirttyyyyyy 😭😭 but good on the guy for letting her go and be happy even tho he couldn't be,,,, it was so sweet !! Uh anyway yeah this song is so good. I love how longing and sad it sounds. It's like if Misery and I Saw Her Standing There had a baby. It totally fits the 60's I can see it playing at a dinner or something !! Also, Anna girl, give that ring back !! 😭

Chains ⛓️: Honestly I can see myself liking this song in the future (two or three weeks from now) and it's honestly a really unique take on love that I really like. His girl's got him chained down with the chains of love !!! Not in an oppressive and controlling way but she's got him locked in !!! He loves her so much, they're connected 😣

Boys 🤷: Erm. Gay Anthem?? Don't know what to think about this one I really don't know 😭😭 talks about 'em all the time I guess??

Ask Me Why ❓: It's so cute !! I can also see this one being played at an old diner. The do-wop sound is like, addictive and supperrrr catchy. Really like this song. Kinda reminds me of A World Without Love by Peter and Gordon !!

Please Please Me 🫵: Honestly kinda forgot about her ?? After the first listen it was like I just had a fever dream. But also that might have been because I was in the car with my parents talking and I could hear them through my headphones so idk you tell me :/ but now that I've relistened to the album while writing the reviews I love this one!

Love Me Do ❤️: Don't really jive with this one :/ it's not a bad sing but it just wasn't my cup of tea !! I feel bad saying that 'cause I don't wanna be the typical teen that "only listens to catchy, simple songs" but this one just wasn't there for me the way Please Please Me and Anna were 😭😭

P.S. I Love You 💌: ITS SO CUTTTEEEEE !!!!! Was this song a precursor to All My Loving like, directly ??? If it wasn't I probably look stupid saying that but whatevs. This song is like, old and faded is a really lovely way like,,, who writes letters anymore, it's so romantic!!! The simple guitar is like, really bleeding through to me for some reason idk good job George !!!

Baby It's You 💕: 60s came through with this one. She is PUNGENT. It's giving Runaround Sue !! This one just feels like a classic.

Do You Want To Know A Secret 🫠: Elementary school yard ramped up!!! I can almost hear the children playing and yelling in the background it's so cutesy. Overall a pretty good track. Wouldn't mind hearing it again !!

A Taste of Honey 🍯: Reminds me of a song i'd hear in Rango.. hmm. I don't like this song as much as I feel I should?? Didn't quite give with me, it's just another track I guess (idk this review felt mean 😭😭)

There's a Place 🏩: Its like an amalgamation of all of the songs in the album. I'm hearing baby it's you, please please me, and literally everything else idk it's so strange

Twist and Shout 🌀: This song is iconic. There's nothing I cans at that will add or take anything away. Might be a bit overrated idk it's just me . But it's uber high energy and I like it !!

First Entry: Uh my 4 day weekend is ending today what a bummmerrrrr !!! But I got 24 days until my birthday and then I'll be 17 :3 I wanna have a hello kitty themed bday so bad (and go bowling) ! Kinda blew up at my sister last night at a sleepover because I have some weird anxiety thing about food and she said something that ticked me off so yea :/ but it's all good now we're in good terms !!!

Second Entry: So I decided I'm gonna listen to ALL of The Beatles songs (not including the multiple retakes/outtakes/practices/jam sessions, etc..) so wish me luck. I'll be recording my thoughts and feelings on each song one album at a time. I grew up listening to like, a little bit of their music but I want to get into them more because I do genuinely believe some of their songs have beautiful messages !! It's gonna take 4ever but I know I'll be able to do it.

First Entry: okay guys. what the fart.. so I live in an area where like,,, the humidity is HORRENDOUS and as a result of something or other flies run rampant. like,, uhhh So I left a trash bag in my laundry room and oh. em. gee. My dad like, opened my bedroom door while I was sleeping and was like, "Who left the trash bag in the laundry room >:(" and in my half asleep state I was like ' oh shoot :0 I messed up' so I was like, "Me.. I did. " while half asleep and he goes "go pick up the maggots" ... wut. So I get up and tie my hair back and go to the laundry room and GIRL,, there was maggots on the walls and my mum was scooping them off with the broom.. I picked the maggots up and there was A LOT but hey I got it done and I haven't seen a maggot since so 🤷

Second Entry: I'm eating leftover pizza from dinner last night and it tastes so yummy :3333 I'm gonna paint my nails and wait for my friend's mum to pick me up because WE'RE GOING TO THE MOVIES I'm so excited I never hang out with them (heavyn and val) outside of school !!! They're so cool. We're watching dune two and I already watched the 30 min recap of the first one and it seems pretty good ! I'm excited to watch the second one.

Third Entry: Didn't end up painting my nails, I lied !! Just got back from the movies and dune:two was pretty good ! I'm not a film critic so I'm not sure exactly what to say but I think I had an overall pretty positive experience. Val and Heavyn were super funny and we took some pics in the photo booth !! 10/10 would absolutely LOVE to go out with them again it was amazing !!

First Entry: Sooooooo I might relapse on that crush I had ? I started the diary entries a little late but I had (still have) the biggest crush on Rylan Garza like, EVER ! He looks like a young Robert Kennedy !! Gosh he's so so so handsome. I walk around the hallways at school in the morning just to see him. I used to be so obsessed with him and I would see him everywhere and I would just stare at him non-stop I was insane. I told his friend (my friend too) William that I had a crush on him and he was like, "Oooo uh, he's got a girlfriend -_- and not only that but he's going to leave for the Marines soon as well." GIRL . I was devastated ! His girlfriend and him broke up (woohoo!) but that doesn't fix the Marine problem .. anyway like, girl he was walking to his government class and Oh. Em. Gee. He looked drop dead gorgeous! He was wearing a black belt and high waisted pants with a tight black shirt and I could see his pecs through his shirt oh my lord it was CRAZY. So now I might definitely be totally absolutely walking with a purpose in the morning just to see a certain somebody idk 👉👈

Second Entry: So the guy that I keep making eye contact with isn't here today . I kinda wish he was though. it would give me something to think about. Today is kinda boringgggg. BUT it's the last day before my 4 day weekend so yayyyy :)))))

Third Entry: I'm going to the movies tomorrow with my friendssssss !! We're watching Dune: Two. uhhh the only problem is I haven't seen the first one. Personally I really have no interest in watching it because uh, I hold my own personal prejudices against timothee chalamet and zendaya but whatevs. I'm going out with my girlfriends so of course I feel bad not watching it but stilllllll. I don't wanna do it :P think I might just watch one of those 30 min recaps on youtube or something idk.

Fourth Entry: hiiiiiiii I had peter piper pizza for diinnneerrrr. Erm, the color of the dough kinda concerned me though 'cause it was the same shade of golden brown all over the back and it like . looked artificial to me. like plastic. Still ate tho !! It's giving me some anxiety though 'cause what if something was wrong with it and what if I get food poisoning tomorrow morning ?? I literally CANNOT survive another food poisoning incident . I WILL get suicidal it's not even funny. I get suicidal when I'm nauseous and cold and sick and in pain and bored and anxious and and and and.. sorry I'm crazy :3

First Entry: Help! The tech teacher is walking around helping people and my friend isn't here to help me and and and and oh. my god. ,, like.. I don't wanna do the work. He keeps walking behind me ,, I know he knows that I'm not doing anything.

Second Entry: Girls help. There's this kid that I keep making eye contact with and I think he thinks that I'm like, stalking him or something ?? Idk but every time I fix my hair or something he's always in my line of sight and I just end up naturally looking at him and he's LOOKING AT ME- like man I promise I'm not looking at you I'm literally just living .. on the bright side I mean, he's kinda cute?????? So maybe there might be something there who knows?

Third Entry: Okay! Finished a math test like 30 mins ago and I think I did pretty well on it ! Thank god for that teacher giving us a review that was exactly like the test! And uh, girl . you ever had your ear talked off by a football player???? In my 7th period history class this one football player just wouldn't stop talking ! Some of the stuff he said was funny but oh em gee I don't need to hear about your 6th consecutive injury and your concussion that left you debilitated for 3 weeks 😭😭😭 At least let me try and speak a sentence without being ignored hellooooo !!!! He'd look at me like I said something crazy like . uhm .. a convo requires two sides. Maybe he wanted to show off how brave and cool he was for coming back after the injuries ?? Idk but the convo it was exhaustingggggg

Entry Four: I'm making peppermint tea :3 Ioooovveeeeee peppermint tea !!!!!!!!!!!!

Entry Five: Peppermint tea was amazing. 10/10. It's a little hot in my room but overall today was a good day !

Reading Frankenstein and obsessed with the fact that Paradise Lost has been not only referenced directly in the book but also the fact that the Creature feels a sense of alienation from Adam as someone who was loved by his creator and related more to Lucifer instead when in fact the whole book actually creates a parallel to the creation of Adam by God with the Creature's creation by Frankenstein where it very simply presents an imagery of what could have gone wrong and maybe trying to imbibe it with a sense of reality and leaving the reader questioning about which is the reality they live in and is God trying to hide from his own creations because he too is horrified of what he ended up creating
