@musefractal sent ; ( to princess cookie, from custard cookie! ) “i’m afraid you’re too little to do that.”
“Hm, ya’ think?” There’s no hesitation as Princess stares forward at the gap. Too little to jump it? Well, now the adventurous princess felt compelled. She backs away temporarily, fixing her skirt, before she smiles towards the King. Only to, with a loud adventurous cry, run forward and promptly jump the gap. She barely makes it, catching the edge of the ledge, before she falls face first into the dirt. There’s a few seconds of silence before she sits up suddenly with arms up into the air. “I told you I could do it!”
Custard Cookie gulped as he watched. That was a big gap that lead to a big drop. And it looked like Princess Cookie was really going to try and jump over it! As she took off, the young king’s heart dropped and he stood there frozen.
What if she didn’t make it!? He didn’t think that she was actually going to go for it! He should have known better by now, than to taunt the Princess and say that she couldn’t do something. She would do it just to prove him wrong!
Though when it became obvious that she had made it, the young cookie heaved out a relieved sigh, clutching his still-racing heart. His heart was racing, and he wasn’t even the one that had just done a death-defying jump! But---oh well. At least she had made it.
“Okay! You proved me wrong! So you don’t have to do it again!”
“But wait... how am I supposed to get across?!”

There’s a long slow blink as he stares down at his daughter. The carrot coffee, with extra sugar, is lowered away from his lips. At first he notices her ears. The most obvious sign something is wrong. She isn’t being her usual peppy self. Mug is now set down as he kneels himself down to her height. Listening to her speak with an expressionless demeanor. Mean? Was something bullying his kid? Nose twitches, whiskers bristled somewhat, and it takes a lot in him to not just tell her to ‘ruin them’ like he’s done to people that ‘mess with him’. But he has a feeling Vanilla wouldn’t like him to teach Cream how to deliver punishments such as the kind he gave.
“ … “
It’s probably just a kid. Kids could sometimes be jerks.
“ Sometimes people are jus’ mean fer no reason. No matter how nice ya’ are ta’ dem. ” He does his best to explain. Himself now going from a kneeling position to standing now. Hands grabbing her up from under her arms as he sets her on the counter. Vanilla would be better at this. “ Who’s bein’ mean ta’ you? Ya’ want me to come over dere and have a talk wit’ dem?”
Cream doesn’t look directly at her father as her eyes fall to the ground, shifting timidly on her feet. Her ears were down low, and the was doing her absolute best to fight the tears that were threatening to well up in her eyes. It wasn’t so much what had happened that flared up her tears in that moment, but the gentle concern in her father’s voice. She didn’t want to worry him.
Her eyes remained glued to the ground until she felt herself suddenly being scooped up; and she let out a surprised squeal of laughter as she was carefully set down upon the counter. Looking back to her father now, her smile fell yet again at his question, and her ears once again pressed down flat against her head. She didn’t want to say who was being mean to her, even though she knew she probably should. Even now, she didn’t want to cause them any trouble.
“No.” She shook her head and held out her arms, wordlessly asking for a hug as she leaned forward again. “I just want them to stop. I even made them a gift and asked to be friends, but they’re still making fun of me!” It was just some other kids her age, but it made her feel awful to be excluded---and beyond that, to be laughed at! And not in the funny way. “I just wanna play with you for a while.”

“It’s no use… but why can’t I defeat you?” ( Bugs to Cream dramatically cause she keeps finding him in hide and seek )
Cream ripped back the curtains and laughed upon spotting her Dad. She had a feeling he’d be behind there! Though it hadn’t been too hard to find him, considering she’d seen his feet poking out from beneath them, and the carrot he’d been munching on before they started playing was left upon a nearby table. But she didn’t care. She was just happy to find him! She rushed forwards, wrapping her arms around him in a hug.
“I am pretty good at finding things!” She told him happily, leaning back from the hug and looking up at him with bright eyes. “And you never leave your carrots far behind! I think I could find you, even if you got lost on vacation!”
