naoto isn’t that bad.

somin never shares this thought, though, because she knows there are a lot of people who might disagree with her (including her own bandmates) and she’s fairly certain that he’s the kind of guy who needs frequent reminders that he is still irritating, even if he’s the tolerable kind of irritating. she thinks that’s how he’s kept at bay, if he even is kept at bay --- maybe that’s a hopeless task, considering he always seems to be at wuju cowboy’s shows, always seems to show up when they’re hanging out on their own time. 

sometimes she wonders if he has anything better to do with his time. other times, she thinks it’s nice that he likes them enough to pry his way into their circle.

and he could be helpful when the gig is over and the band has to pack their equipment to the trailer parked just behind the venue --- she’ll say it’s the least he can do to make up for the fact that jiwon has to live with him, but really, it’s a direct invite into their world. she’s still not sure whether he actually wants to be part of their world or if he just doesn’t have any friends, but still. in her mind, it’s an act of kindness.

“hey,” she calls from where she’s knelt at the edge of the stage, rolling cords to make them easier to carry. the lights have brightened and most people who aren’t affiliated with the band in some way have filtered out, so she thinks it’s easy to guess who she’s speaking to. “could you help me bring these speakers to the trailer? it’s just out back.”

the best thing about working a changing schedule, somin thinks, is that she can surprise her friends at different times on different days -- there’s really no telling when she’ll pop up. usually unwanted, always uninvited. 

still, she tries not to be too much of a nuisance, especially since those said friends are almost always working at their own jobs when she pops up. perhaps they should start keeping their jobs secret, for she’ll always invade that professional space eventually.

today’s victim is jiwon, but somin’s pretending to be just another customer with no knowledge of who jiwon is outside of this place. there’s no reason to be putting on a show, though; she doesn’t think she’ll be banned for knowing a bartender, but it’s just... fun. yeah. it’s fun to order one glass of water after another, asking for the smallest sprinkle of their weakest liquor just for a little spice and ignore the way other customers peer at her. it’s fun to make ridiculous comments here and there, always referring to herself in third person. first person feels too personal and, of course, she can’t be too personal.

“if you happened to have a friend named somin and she just so happened to forget that she was responsible for advertising a certain show that just so happens to be real soon, would you be mad at her?” she asked, freshly manicured fingernails tapping against the counter. “oh! by the way, can i get another glass of water? maybe you could put a lemon on the side for... freshness.”

hello! my name’s chey & i’m going to be writing for both jung dasom and chae somin. i’m a little bit unprepared, so i don’t have any of somin’s pages finished but i do have the first portion of her info page & a pinterest board if that’s your thing! you’ll find a collection of maybe-necessary information below the cut. like this if you want to plot!

somin... can come on a little strong sometimes. wants to say she’s all ~peace~ and ~love~ but there’s also some insane nosiness and jealousy just below the surface. if it’s your first time meeting her and she just so happens to ask you very personal questions... don’t be surprised yet. it gets worse.

both parents are in the picture, but they divorced when somin was a pre-teen and she ended up living with her dad, who also had full custody. only talked to her mom on the phone and saw her around holidays, really. which.... was better for both of them.

anyway! her dad’s a musician (although his band was way more active when he was younger, they still play shows just for fun every now and then) and he also happens to own a club. somin spent much of her childhood in that club, usually hanging out backstage with local musicians or whoever else was around.

learned how to play the guitar & piano from her dad, ended up deciding that she really, really liked rock music & wanted to start a band. obviously wasn’t realistic to do that at like.... 13/14, though, so it was just an ~idea~

also toyed w the idea of going to college, maybe pursuing “Real Work” (as her mother would put it) but that never really appealed to her. f.

once she graduated high school, she went through quite a few part-time jobs in the span of just a few months and the cycle..... never ended. she’s absolutely terrible at keeping jobs. doesn’t want to stay anywhere she doesn’t like, and as it turns out, she doesn’t like most jobs. rip. currently a waitress at some unnamed restaurant or diner or whtevr.

i’m not sure of the exact timeline yet bc it hasn’t been discussed, but she did end up finally starting that band she always dreamed of!!! they’re called wuju cowboy. they’re pretty good or whatever...... please come to a show <3 

can’t agree whether or not they want to be big --- somin does want to be big, personally, but she pretends that she’s indifferent most of the time. still...... it gets her all giddy when random people want to talk to her after shows. 

has a soundcloud acc where she posts solo music (it’s not tht good, so her identity’s kept a tight secret LMAO) and she posts covers sometimes! obsessed with music. it’s all she wants to do.

has her own apartment, but sometimes she couch-surfs just to get the touring musician vibe in case wuju cowboy ever happen to go on tour.

collecting tattoos, shows no sign of slowing down. at this point, it’d be a wonder if she ever gets hired for a professional job. </3 pisses her mom off, so maybe that’s part of the reason why she won’t stop!
