[ WC ] Pax Vobiscum
Jayden can barely hear the splashes of water with every stroke he makes in the frigid water of the outdoor pool with the music blaring in his ears through his earbuds. The chill of winter still lingers into early April, but he prefers it that way. It may seem like a punishment to some, but this helps him keep his mind off of the haunting memories that had began to return to him recently that seemed to had been blocked off as a trauma response after the car accident.
Memories filled with pain, anguish, fatigue... It was too much. Remembering how old he had only been when these things had happened still manages to make him want to lurch and heave up the contents of his stomach. However, when he's racing against his thoughts in the pool, it's easy to keep the memories at bay. Hell, it makes it so much easier to relax.
With or without the memories, swimming had been something he had done to wind down because even while traveling on business trips, it's easy to find a pool in hotels and resorts he'd be staying in apart from the gym.
After a few laps, he lets himself float on the water on his back despite the cold. The weight of his memories and the day seem to just float away from him as he closes his eyes. In the embrace of the water, he finds himself a haven, helping him cleanse out his mind so that he can face the day again later on without overwhelming himself. With the sky turning darker, the shadows begin to wrap him up, which means it's time to get out of the water.
So, he swims over to the edge and climbs over to where his things are to retrieve them. He dries himself up as well as he could before heading back inside the gym to shower the chlorinated water away before he heads back to his apartment.

Nerves begin to prickle beneath his skin as he carefully watches the shadows wrap around their hands as he shakes his. It's the first time he's seen anything like this, but then again, it's not like he had a loose leash on them before coming to the island. Embracing them had not quite set in just yet, and he's still wary of them despite being a bit more relaxed with its presence.
Jayden makes sure that the shadows don't stray away from him as he pulls his hand back. He rolls his sleeves back down as a precaution as he's still wholly unaware of what they could do, especially to those that he has to appeal to, like his employees for one.
"Itotia. Interesting name. Where are you from?" he grins as he tucks his hands into his pockets. "Sorry if it's a bit startling that I'm here so early. I just wanted to familiarize myself with the place. I'm still pretty new around here, but I want to make sure that if I have to cover for anyone that I actually know what I'm doing," he chuckles as he rubs the back of his neck.
Itotia had, of course, heard about the new Vision/Ilusion's owner but hadn't been able to meet him yet. He had been a bit sad to see Sekhmet go, she had been a good boss, but he was curious about her successor. Hopefully, he would be nice and open. What more could he ask for ?
It had been pool maintenance day so Itotia had decided to turn up at the club earlier than usual, to make sure that everything was fine and to do some cleaning if necessary. A short dance session, a nice shower and he was ready for another work night, a big smile on his face as he arrived at Vision.
The bartender immediately noticed the new guy behind the bar and he remained a few steps away, observing him. He was cute and seemed nice enough but what caught his attention the most was the shadow wrapped around his arm, moving on its own will. That was an interesting sight and he could feel a light tingling at the back of his neck.
The young Mayan moved closer when his presence was acknowledged, hodling out his hand for the other. "Hi ! I'm Itotia" he exclaimed, grinning. So that was his mysterious new boss ? "It's nice to finally meet you, Jayden !" His gaze then fell on the shadow and he was surprised to see it move towards him. How curious.
"Hello there, nice to meet you too" Itotia added, chuckling.

As the doors open, he finishes up the conversation with his secretary, and his eyes land on their guest and his mouth dries entirely as he sees his first love walk into the room. He dismisses his secretary, sending him out to fetch the waiter for them.
He takes a deep breath as he stands up from his chair and walks up to her. He forces a welcoming smile on his lips as memories of his actions back in Moscow begin to make the bile rise up his throat which he keeps down as he extends his hand to her.
"The pleasure is all mine," he replies with a smile just as his secretary leaves the room. "If my parents had told me of the situation, I would've flown to Moscow myself. I do hope he's doing well. I do apologize as well that I'm here in their stead as they wouldn't want you to wait further for this meeting."
Hyunseok's heart feels like it's about to jump out of his chest as he keeps his eyes locked with hers. His knees threatened to crumble beneath him, but he knows he needs to keep the appearance up as much as possible. However, he was just a man in front of the woman he had painfully left behind in Moscow despite loving her deeply...
As Hyunseok and his secretary finalized their conversation, the air in the upscale Seoul restaurant seemed to subtly shift. A new presence made itself known, commanding attention without effort. Karina, prodigy of Koschei, entered the private room with an aura of confidence and poise.
Draped in an elegant ensemble that exuded sophistication, Karina offered a polite nod to Hyunseok and his secretary before taking her seat. Her sharp gaze, the color of steel, assessed the room with a calculating intensity before settling on Hyunseok. Deep down however, Karina was a bundle of nerves. This is the first time her grandfather had let her meet one of his potential business partners. All the way to Seoul no less. She had an entourage, but for this meeting, she preferred to gather her courage on her own.
Her clothes were chosen precisely for that reason. And for the first time since in a long time, Karina had abandoned the spectacles and wore contacts, enough for her eyes, almost reptilian in their color shine through.
"It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Mr. Cho," Karina greeted in a voice as smooth as silk, her Russian accent lending an exotic allure to her words. Thankfully the accent helped hide her actual nerves. "My grandfather apologizes he could not be here today, at his age, the doctor recommends he stay in Moscow. I am surprised your own father suggested Seoul, but I can understand the appeal." The smile was polite almost discerning.

"after everything we’ve been through? seriously?"
Jayden has been looking around the flower shop for some fresh flowers for his new apartment on the island. He had always enjoyed the smell of them and it does keep his place from being completely overrun by shadows and darkness. The flowers help brighten the place up, and in turn, helps his mood from completely spiraling.
Overhearing a phone call a few steps from him, however, got him being nosy. He's glad he's wearing his sunglasses as he steals glances over to the girl speaking and he frowns. He waits until the phone call is over before he pads over and taps her on the shoulder.
"Is everything alright?" he asks, concern etched on his face as he tucks his hands in his pockets.

Jayden retains the smile on his face and he looks down at their hands, and for a moment his mind reels back to the moment he had been standing on the altar waiting for her, but he shakes the thought aside, as he looks back up to meet her eyes with a flirtatious smile on his lips.
It seems that she doesn't know who he is exactly, so he keeps a cool level head as he brings her hand up. He leans down and bushes his lips over he knuckles before responding to her. "Oh, I'm having plenty of fun, believe me," he chuckles before twirling her around with her hand in his, then hooks his arms around her in a one-armed hug. He's still holding her hand gently, enough that if she feels uncomfortable, she should be able to pull away from him without much effort.
The shadows on his arms seem to bristle over his arms underneath his suit jacket, but he manages to ignore the sensation of them getting colder. The blanket of comfort now turning into a tool to keep him from feeling too anxious as he held Davina against him.
"Let me get you one instead, yeah?" He smiles as he tilts his head a bit, and if she looks closely enough, tendrils of shadows seem to creep up from the collar of his shirt, as if trying to take a peek at who their wielder seems to be taking an interest in.
After the new year, Davina had the funds to hire more and more staff. Business had been booming since many residents finally realized the stall existed, and so, Davina finally was able to step away more from the business, merely to handle what a boss should. It was a great achievement in her book, and though she typically went to Vision anyway, she definitely felt tonight was the best night to celebrate her own achievement.
After finishing drinking and chatting with her new bartender friend, Davina finally felt that buzz from her alcohol. Drunk? No. Ready to dance? Absolutely. So, she had taken to the dancefloor with no thoughts or concerns. Davina quite enjoyed dancing, even if she was not the best or perfect at it. That unhinged freedom to move her body as she wished, it was hard to ignore.
And, she enjoyed the dancefloor for some time. Lost to the music, she would turn around to a man facing her. A smile on his face, Davina locked eyes with him immediately. Who was he? She had no idea. He seemed to know her as she saw some look of recognition in his features. But, she simply thought he had been a customer, not the man her father nearly forced her to marry.
In a great mood, the demigoddess smiled at him, halting her dancing to focus on him. "Of course! How could I not?" She giggles as she playfully took his hand. "You don't seem to be having fun though. Should I buy you a drink?" Flirtatious as it may have sounded, the demigoddess found a new chance to make a friend.

[ J & Itotia ] A Familial Bond
With @mpitotia
Walking into the dark club in the middle of the day was something. There had just been pool maintenance, so he planned on staying around for a while just to get himself a bit more used to the place. The darkness within keeps him comfortable and shielded from the sun outside, so it's not even such a bad thing to hang around.
A few hours pass and he still remained, taking a bottle from his office down to the bar to just relax before they have to prepare for the crowd again. Thank fuck for the maintenance because the "pool smell" had been eradicated, and the water had been fully replaced, otherwise, he wouldn't be sitting at one of the stools in the bar at all.
Nearly finishing half the bottle, he finally puts the stopper back on the crystal bottle. He heads behind the bar to clean up after himself, rolling up the sleeves of his button-up shirt before beginning.
If it hadn't been for him rolling his sleeves up, he would have failed to notice the coldness of the shadows slithering across his skin beginning to fade as the shadows now visibly seems to try to move on its own.
He turns to see one of the bartenders coming in and he waves at him as he finishes up in the bar. "Evening. I don't think we've met," he smiles as he wipes his hand dry before extending his hand towards the other. "I'm Jayden, new owner of the club," he says, and it looks as though the shadows from his arms also reach out to the other.
That's new...

[ H & Karina ] A Lover’s Broken Oath
With @mpkarina
In the past…
It had only been months since the failed wedding, and Hyunseok was already back in the grind of his work. Meetings done left and right with suppliers and those they supply parts, software, and other things. It was easy to return back to his life, especially now that he’s not locked to an engagement anymore. His parents are still unhappy about what had happened, but he’s learned to just… move on with his life.
With him still being the sole heir to the company, he’s still the one to meet with their future business partners, learning the ropes and such.
Hyunseok, now clad in his suit, walks into one of the high end restaurants in Seoul with his secretary to meet a foreign business partner that his parents had asked him to meet with as they are currently out of the country. He had reserved a private room for them to have their meeting in.
He speaks with the waiter to ask them to wait until their guest arrives before coming to take their orders, then turns to his secretary as they leave to finish up the conversation they had on the way to the restaurant straight from their office.

[H & Davina] The Girl in the Picture
With @mpxdavina
After signing the paperwork for the transfer of ownership, Jayden figured that it wouldn’t hurt to celebrate for one night before he continues to worry about why he even moved to the island in the first place.
He heads over to his newly acquired business venture, Visión / Ilusión. He hadn’t really thought about what he wanted to do when he moved here, but why not go back into something he had already know what to do, owning and running a business. Sure it’s not the same as what he had been doing exactly, being an heir to a technology empire and all, but it’s close enough for him.
Jayden's shadows rest on his skin, wrapping him in a slight cold. He’s still not quite used to it yet, but the feeling of them is slowly becoming a blanket of comfort for him. At least here, he doesn’t have to hide them anymore.
His eyes scan over the club, the music blaring through the speakers as he takes a sip of the old-fashioned in his hand as his body reacts to the music. He smiles at the crowd, satisfied that the business seems to be booming.
The smile on his lips fall as he eyes one of the girls on the dance floor. He furrows his eyesbrows before he downs his drink in one go, ignoring the burn in his throat as he passes the glass back to the bartender.
This is going to be quite a night, he thought, as he wades his way through the crowd until he reaches the girl he remembers from the picture his parents had given him all those years ago. His supposed bride-to-be back then is now dancing in front of him, in his newly acquired night club in an island he didn’t even know existed until recently, and now he’s unsure why he decided to run over here without a plan.
“Hello,” he smiles at her as he comes to meet her eyes with a smile. He wonders if she’ll recognize him as he asks, “Having fun, love?”
