The aptly named California suncup (Camissoniopsis bistorta).
How I love the name “suncup.”

Happy Easter!
Couldn’t resist trying to make an old-fashioned articulated paper bunny for Easter. After a couple of iterations, I finally committed to finishing him with colored pencils. He turned out quite cheerful, didn’t he?

Captivated by the magical #mushrooms sprouting up after the winter rains! ✨
They’re all over the place, and all different: white, brown, golden yellow, griege, smooth, ribbed, striped, plain, flat and domed.
They remind me of children’s books where forest toadstools have little front doors and windows for resident mice or frogs. While their charm is undeniable, I leave them be — I admire their beauty only, as their true nature remains a mystery.
