It’s absolute bullshit that in certain circles what you look like matters more than what kind of person you are and I can’t get over that honestly. Wow, that album cover sounds powerful and I’m not surprised you’re getting a lot of support for it. When’s the album coming out? Are you sure you wanna hear what gets me heated? I used to work for this company that treats it’s wrestlers like shit, strips away every ounce of creative expression you have and shoves you into a box creatively that you can’t escape from. My old boss thought I was funny, so everything I did from that point on was wacky comedy and I hated it so much. I’ve always wanted to wrestler and be considered a serious wrestler, not a comedy side-show. I left that company last year and finally, I have that creative freedom I’ve always wanted. Anyways, freedom is an awesome thing.

It’s always so easy being your own worst critic and believing all of your worst reviews. It’s a long process to genuinely ignore all of that and just focus on how much you’ve achieved and how anyone else’s opinion doesn’t really matter. I work for All Elite Wrestling these days and I’m their world champion. Leaving was the best decision I could’ve made, having creative freedom and being in charge of your own career is a truly important thing for me.

I definitely feel you, there. I think sometimes it’s hard to see how much you’ve done until you’re able to look back on it clearly. When I left WWE, I felt like I’d failed in a way but now looking back, I had a hell of a run there that I need to be proud of. You’ve definitely achieved a ton, headlining a mega franchise this young and becoming wildly successful? That’s some good shit right there.
