something that's so good abt jennifers body is that it's built up entirely on honesty followed by joke. honesty followed by deflection. honesty followed by pop culture joke. and all of this builds up until the end of the movie, when jennifer jokes away her death saying "my tit" and needy corrects her. no. your heart. stop joking. stop deflecting. you were my best friend and I killed you. there's no looking away from this
inspo board for jennifer's style for the film "jennifer's body" (2oo9). ph. katia stano .
"Mood boards can be a major part of the planning process for costume designers, and Stano went all out to illustrate the contrast between Jennifer’s girlish outfits and her demonic prowess. Some inspiration imagery included a box of chocolates with boys’ heads on them, representing Jennifer’s voracious appetite for her male classmates, as well as My Little Ponys and Francisco Goya’s painting Saturn Devouring His Son. There were also some celebs of the 2000s era, such as Bridget Marquardt and Kendra Wilkinson from the reality show The Girls Next Door and Sabrina Bryan from The Cheetah Girls. Another familiar face? NYLON tear sheets from none other than NYLON magazine were also featured on the boards." --marie lodi for nylon
While I'm pop culture posting: not 2 be pessimistic bc I have been on the chappell roan train for awhile now and love to see her success-- I can't help but wonder how long til the public turns on her. it's something that happens 2 literally every lesbian singer I've seen get relatively big and it's been agonizing every time so I'm just trying to steel myself -_-
If I may be a hater for just one moment.....I have long maintained respect for [redacted] but some of this recent stuff is giving me secondhand embarrassment
