"he died when I was eight but. . .I remember a few things. he was a good man. your mom and my dad were lucky to find him." it felt nice, to have someone else who had mr. miyagi's influence in their lives like she did. for so long it had been just her and her dad. "you can check the dojo around if you want, it used to be his house." @karatelives
@moraltaught liked for a short - ish starter.

"Your hand looks like it's almost done to be cooked for. That's not fine." A bit crude but hopefully, it gets her point across that she is not buying Tory's toughness. She is tired of it really, of everyone's toughness, of pretending they were fine when they were not. Sam LaRusso had been crumbling and the best decision she had done was to finally admit she was not okay and that she wanted to be. So she doesn't really move away from her spot, still holding Miyagi's mystery powder in her hand. "You refuse to go to the hospital, this is your next best option." She is sure her parents would pay for the bills if Tory needed it, but she also knew the girl was stubborn as one can be.
A relieved sigh escapes her lips once Tory relents and removes her gauze and she moves near the sink to fill a bowl with hot water, and put the powder on it. "It's not that type of powder, geez. It was Mr. Miyagi's formula. Dad used it back when he was in Cobra Kai." Right. Not her story to tell. Did she knew about that? What has Silver told his students when that little piece of information was available? But Sam keeps quiet.
"I used it after the school fight." Nothing more to say about that, really. But the marks on her arm are a grace on the skin compared to how big they were at the beggining, she thinks it was the powder, or just healing doing its wonders. Stirring the bowl with the slime, she places it beside Tory. "You need to put your hand inside. I'll damp another gauze and you have to keep it all night, alright?"
Tory was trying to make a change. Amanda LaRusso's words echoed in her mind, that she had to let people in to help her. Easy enough with someone like Robby, who understood her better than most. From someone like Sam, she couldn't tell when she was getting pity as opposed to actual care. They'd been fine to fight before, and the Miyagi-Do princess had no problems making whatever assumptions about Tory she needed to fit her narrative. She couldn't help but feel even after the truth about Silver and the tournament, any attempt at kindness by Sam was not without strings attached.
"It's fine," she said too quickly. It was the easiest response, a bandaid on an amputated limb. It meant so much more than two simple words- it also meant "Leave me alone" and "I can handle myself". Because it was easier than "Thank you" and "I'm sorry".
Even if every time she tried to clench a fist, the skin threatened to tear. Even if in moments of silence, Tory could feel her blood pulsing against the raw, tender knuckles. If a bone broke and set wrong, if the scabs never healed and fell away... Ugh. Maybe the pain was purposeful, a reminder she deserved for everything she'd done.
"Seriously, LaRusso? A jar of fermented slime is going to keep me out of the hospital?" But despite her vocal protest, Tory began to unwrap the gauze on her hand, the bandage pulling away from hot, sticky skin where the wound still refused to close. "Fine. But if I start tripping balls or seeing faces in the clouds because of this, you're going to regret it."

she doesn't know what to say other than look over at duncan and his wishes. she wanted cobra kai to lose too but she doesn't want him to feel down for it. she isn't one to understand what the dojo would mean to anyone ( after learning about her father's own history, she has been curious but any chance of connecting with it on an emotional level felt odd ). duncan is the only connection she has with the dojo and the one she cares the most. robby too, wanting to get the boy she knew so well out of that mess. that's why she has to win. the girl relaxes under his touch, his kiss a much needed connection.
"i love you." she blurts out in that moment as he keeps speaking good words and filling her up with emotions. sam isn't sure how welcoming the feeling would be but she had to say it. "i just wanted to say it. you don't need to say it back but. . .i wanted to say it before the match." a short pause, as her hands hold on the edges of his gi. it seems forbidden almost, the cobra kai gi and her miyagi-do one, looking like opposites as they embrace.
𝖍𝖊 𝖙𝖗𝖎𝖊𝖉 𝖙𝖔 𝖑𝖆𝖚𝖌𝖍 𝖘𝖔𝖋𝖙𝖑𝖞, shaking his head as he didn't want to admit which of his two senseis had taught him the move that she had admire because he was sure she wouldn't like the answer. but duncan lets her pull him to face her, blue eyes softening as he looks at her, sighing softly, " is it bad that i'm kinda hopin' my dojo loses? " he admits softly, knowing that in some messed up way, he doesn't have the strength he wished he had to walk away completely. if cobra kai was gone, then he could just do the right thing for once. duncan always had a way of doing the 𝖜𝖗𝖔𝖓𝖌 thing whenever he knew he should do the right thing. yet when she said about him leaving, his smile dropped and he shook his head, " what? i'm not goin' anywhere. you think i'd miss this? you're gonna win this whole thing, " she was the better fighter. tory was good, but sam was incredible. she knew exactly what she was doing, she was doing it for the right reasons and sam just deserved to win. duncan cups her face gently and leans down to give her a soft kiss, " i'm not goin' anywhere, i'm stayin' here and i'm gonna cheer for you, no matter what happens, " because whilst he may not have the strength to walk away, that didn't mean that he gave two shits what kreese or silver thought about him and he was always just so 𝖌𝖔𝖔𝖉 at rebelling against authority in his life.

"You are part of the OG dojo, Dem! Don't put yourself down." Back in the beggining, it had been her and Robby, sure but eventually, not that far after, Demetri had joined in and for a while it had been the trio that made Miyagi's memory proud. Sam's own style has changed a bit, with the gruond being that of her father's but she had incorporated a few elements from Johnny and in that way, she feels that Miyagi-Do might not be the right name for her, at least for a while .Robby is back now and for the first time in a long time, she feels as she belongs again on the dojo. Demetri was part of that belonging.
"Well the tournament is in Japan, so even if you don't participate it might be good to go? Exchange of culture and all that." Japan always sounded so lovely. Sam herself had always been too young when his father travelled there before but now was the right time. Sam shrugs, she isn't really sure how she is feeling, other than the basic. "Lighter. Like a weight has gone down my shoulders." And a smile braces around her lips. "It feels like I can wear that bonsai without feeling it's a weight. Or that I don't suit on it anymore." She can say she is a LaRusso, through and through and be proud of her karate and her roots. "I can enjoy it again, you know? No karate war on sight."
"Well, I don't know if I'm quite ready to embarrass myself on a global stage..." Demetri shrugged. The Sekai Taikai sounded like an incredible exhibition of skill and prowess, but fighters like Sam, Hawk, and Miguel had more prowess in one pinky finger than he did in all four of his lanky limbs. Sure, he had picked up a lot for the skills exhibition at this latest tournament, but... he wasn't sure if he was ready to go pro, as it were.
"But my mom actually likes that I'm doing karate. Y'know, it diversifies any college application, gives me good material for the personal essays. Much better than trying to leverage a few hundred hours in my favorite video games into a practical life skill section on the ol' resume," he said. Demetri wondered what Sam would choose- karate was basically a family heirloom to the LaRussos. And it was no secret her dad was her biggest fan, and expected her to carry on a lot of that tradition. That must have been a lot of pressure.
"How about you? How are you feeling after the whole... Cobra Kai takedown?"

things are calm now. sam doesn't feel in a rush to focus on win some unknown legacy or make anyone other than herself proud. there is a reassurance now, to the thought that despite everything, she had prevail. champion or not, sekai takai or not, sam feels accomplished. doesn't mean she isn't excited to go to the tournament, specially as the tournament is gonna be in japan and that meant, most likely, she will be able to visit mr. miyagi's homeland. "you want me to kick your ass so bad, is that it, uh?" the young larusso jokes shaking her head. eyes shift forward, a bit taking on mercy in, aware that they had a rought time. and the people pleaser in sam, and the larusso of all, wants to prove that she absolutely can kick mercy's ass. so she just stands up, taking on mercy's offered hand and she sighs. "alright. but don't get upset when the bonsai badass gets another win."
𝗺𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝘄𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗳 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀, but they also felt like they kinda needed a moment to just do some karate and not think about things for a while. so when sam said she needed to start 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 , mercy could not think of a better time to start than right now. they didn't even know if they would get a chance to compete now at the sekai taikai, so why not help sam larusso be the best she can be? mercy laughed softly, holding their hand out to her, " c'mon larusso, why not? you got something better to be doing? " they teased, not wanting to really admit that on some level they needed to just do some karate for the sake of it, doing it alone was not the same and they had not done any sort of karate since the fight at the dojo, " well since you never got to face me on the mat, you'll never know . . . c'mon, you gotta be a little curious to see if you could beat me, "

@karatetaught ↪ x ft. robby.
"so. . .it's just the two of us now." her father left with anthony and the other kids, sam said she was gonna help clean up. really, she just wanted a small moment with robby. she thinks her dad knows, as he always does. hands straightening her clothes, a smile on her lips as she steps closer to robby. "you know, you can kiss me now." sam confesses out loud. she hopes he has been thinking the same thing. god, it had been so long and they never really had time to just break up or find each other as a couple before tragedy stroke.

@babezruthless ↪ x ft. tory.
They are not friends. Not by a long shot. She isn't sure what they are besides probably on the same team for once. But whatever that meant for the future, Sam is unsure. Still, she had taken notice of Tory's injured arm and whatever compelled her to tell her father had now moved to a reaction toward helping the other. "Look, I know you might see it as charity but my parents want to help, and you do need to get a proper look at that hand."
That was a fact. "My dad never had his knee properly looked at and he still has phantom pains from time to time. And I'm sure you don't want to quit karate because of an injury." Sam sighs, pulling from her bag a small can unlabelled, one of her family's little secrets when it came to injuries.
"And if you don't want to go to the hospital, you can use this. . .it's Mr. Miyagi's goo poweder. Smells awful, looks even worse but. . .it helps with the pain."

@babezruthless ↪ x ft. demetri.
"so now that the soul of the valley is all safe and all that, what you wanna do?" sam finishes up folding up her gi and placing it on top of the shelf, eyes looking over at demetri. it's not the end, there is still the sekai takai which she had been considering participating ( and it felt good, knowing that in the end, she had won the all valley ). blue eyes shift toward the taller young man though, a curious on her features. "you entering the tournament or focus on school? it is our senior year." god it felt like a fever dream at times, how they went from sophmores to all the sudden seniors in high school and talking about colleges.

@karatelives asked: you’re only prolonging the inevitable . ( from kreese! )
jesus, they really don't know when to quit, do they? sam sighs, looking back at the man before her. with silver gone, she figured this man would just crawl back to his mancave and leave them all alone. but it seems she is as much as a dreamer as everyone else. "yeah, kicking your ass for once and for all. and this time? i'm not stopping my dad." because she saw that her father had been ready to kick this man to oblivion over a year ago. "you never left the war, did you, kreese?"

@karatelives asked: sorry for giving you a hard time . ( from daniel! )
"it's okay, dad. . .i'm a big girl. i can handle some tough love. i been training with johnny, remember?" even with her father giving her a hard time, it was still softer than anything johnny would put her and the others through.
sam sighs, drinking her bottle of water for a brief moment, eyes landing on the photos at the dojo, the one with a young daniel staring back at her, his smile overwhelming and to his side, her tanmee. "i just want to make you proud, you know." a legacy. one she knows her father doesn't want to impose but it's there anyway. to make miyagi proud, to make her father happy again. he had been in pain that last year and she could see it in their eyes. "so, whatever it takes, right? we have the sekai takai to think about."

@karatelives asked: it’s tough being honest when it means everyone just thinks you’re a bitch . ( from yasmine! )
a warm smile creeps into sam's lips as she hands the other a bottle of water. sometimes, sam invites the girls to the garden at the dojo, just for a little chillout. a safe space for her to be herself in full and not feel guilty about anything. "to be fair, you do make it sound a little bitchy." sam points out, before simply adding to her comment.
"i appreciate the honesty, though. some hard love is good when everyone tries to soften the blows." the bluntness is appreciated in a world where she had been coddled since she was a kid. she loves her parents, her father is a man who always speaks his heart, but he often softens the reality for her. yasmine doesn't. "you are a lovable bitch."

@queencvbra asked: [ RESTRAIN ]: sender physically restrains the receiver from attacking someone else.
𝐓𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒 𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐖𝐇𝐈𝐋𝐄 𝐒𝐏𝐀𝐑𝐑𝐈𝐍𝐆/𝐅𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆.
oh how the tables turned. back then, they would be fighting each other and then, it would be sam trying to be the voice of reason regarding tory's impulsive nature. now? it seems that the tables had shifted as it was now sam's turn to be taking over the edge. they won, the fight is over until the final tournament but some former cobra kai's always wanted to get under her skin, making comments about how her father had a lucky strike and how he had gotten his ass beaten for weeks.
they all remember, one just had to walk into larusso auto dealership in order to see that her father could barely walk and talk for days on end a few weeks ago and it was all silver's doing. "i wasn't gonna do anything." sam excuses herself, but her fist are shaped and her stance is ready to take a swing. eyes pierce through from tory to the other person and she breathes in. "they are talking shit about my dad."
