Reita (reading question): “I work in sales and development for a company that makes various foods like bento, onigiri, and sandwiches. We distribute them to convenience stores and supermarkets across Kanto (*Eastern area of Japan), so I do my work wishful thinking that you guys are eating them. If there’s anything that you guys wanna eat, please let me know. I’ll use it as a reference for our future development. Thank you! We rock!” It’s been a while since someone said “we rock!”

Uruha: So should we say what we want them to make?

Reita: Yeah, is there anything you’d like to see in convenience stores or supermarkets?

Uruha: Hm, I don’t know, but I think they should make more protein stuff.

Reita: Yeah, there’s not much protein…

Uruha: Like protein chips or something.

Reita: Ah, I want those! Yeah! Please make protein chips!

Uruha: Well, they are out there, but…

Reita: They are, but not in convenience stores and supermarkets.

Uruha: I think they would sell.

Reita: They would. It would be good for people who are dieting and stuff.

Uruha: Non-fried?

Reita:  Yeah, non-fried.

Uruha: Then there’s no calories in it.

Reita: Yeah, not at all. So, I want them to make something like that~

Uruha: And I want them to make them in flavors suited to Japanese people’s taste.

Reita: Yeah, me too. Convenience stores mostly have like, protein jelly, and baked chocolate bars, or wafers, for protein-type stuff…that’s all they have, so…

Uruha: Can I say something too? I just thought of another one…

Reita: Yep.

Uruha: When we’re on tour and stuff, well, we go to convenience stores…I’m just proving how not famous we are, but…

Reita: (laughs) Yeah, we’re really not.

Uruha: Anyway, we end up getting a lot of our food from convenience stores. Even after a live, we often get stuff from there, but…aren’t you SO thirsty after a live?

Reita: Suuuper thirsty.

Uruha: Like…I’ll buy so many drinks that people are like, “wtf how much are you drinking?”

Reita: Yeah, a shit ton, eh.

Uruha: And we’ll buy bento, and after that we’ll get dessert, you know?

Reita: Mhm.

Uruha: What kind of dessert do you get?

Reita: Dessert? …Uh, yogurt.

Uruha: Yogurt?



Reita: Yeah. Oikos.

Uruha: You don’t get jelly or anything?

Reita: Hmm, sometimes I get jelly – like, coffee jelly and stuff.

(Both I don’t even know who’s saying what lmao):

Uruha: But me, I just – I just want jelly, just the jelly.

Reita: Like the one with no fruit?

Uruha: But they all have fruit in them!

Reita: Oh, I know, I know, I know!

Uruha: Stop it (laughs)

Reita: The ones that are 100 yen for three (*cups of jelly I guess?), I think those are just jelly.

Uruha: But they don’t have those.

Reita: Yeah, they don’t. Most of them are 100 yen per cup, so there’s more jelly in it –

Uruha: But those have SO much fruit in them.

Reita: Yeah, they do.

Uruha: And even if there is one that’s just jelly, they’re like the zero-calorie ones.

Reita: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah…

Uruha: I don’t like those.

Reita: But I had a zero-calorie one once and it was pretty good…but I mean, the ones with coconut milk in them are good too…

Uruha: But those ones are too hard…I want that kind of jelly that has fruit in it, but without the fruit.

(both laugh)

Reita: The jiggly one, eh.

Uruha (he’s pretty worked up at this point lol): They don’t have it anywhere! No matter where you go!

Reita: Yeah, totally.

Uruha: Like, is there a reason for that? Would it not sell?

Reita: I think it’s cause if it was just jelly, it would be cheap, no? (laughs)

Uruha: That’s a good thing!

Reita: I guess so…but they definitely don’t make it.

Uruha: I know…

Reita: Maybe it’s because…most people wouldn’t go for it? I mean, most people want the fruit.

Uruha: Nah, after a live, I just want straight jelly…

Reita: I don’t really need the fruit either tbh. I like the smooth ones –

Uruha: Yeah, the smooth ones –

Reita: That you can drink.

Uruha: I like drinking them after a bath, too.

Reita: Yeah.

Uruha: Yeah…ooh, also…!

Reita: You keep thinking of more things.

Uruha: This is a super limited thing but…when we went to like, Okayama or something…

Reita: Mhm.

Uruha: There were these Setouchi lemon (*lemons from this specific place I think) juice boxes, they were soo good…what were those?

Reita: Lemon juice?



Uruha: Yeah, they just had them at the convenience stores, but I was shocked, like, “damn, these are so good…” but when we got back to Tokyo, I couldn’t find them anywhere…and then I searched for them online, thinking I could buy them online, but I found nothing!

Reita: Not even online?

Uruha: Zero!

Reita: What kinda can was it? Small cans like canned coffee?

Uruha: Juice boxes!

Reita: Oh, juice boxes! And they’re sour?

Uruha: Uh, like that stuff we get, you know? Like, fried squid with Setouchi lemon. We get it a lot (as a gift).

Reita: Wait, Setouchi lemon…you’re talking about lemons?

Uruha: Yes, they’re –

Reita: Fried lemons?

Uruha: It’s fried squid, that has the concentrated flavour of those lemons, the Setouchi lemons.

Reita: What?? I have no idea what that is (laughs)

Uruha: You don’t!?



Reita: Not a clue…

Uruha: We eat it all the time!



Reita: I do?



Uruha: …No, I do.

(both laugh)

Reita: I don’t know it!

Uruha: Anyway, it’s the same kind of lemon in that juice box, and it’s sooo good, I definitely think it would sell, so I want them to make it.

Reita: Oh, I see…do a collab with them, then!

Uruha: No, if it became “the GazettE food” it wouldn’t sell!

Reita: Yeah, you’re right…

Uruha: It would be too dark…

Reita: It would be dark, eh…I see…I wonder if this conversation has been useful at all.

Uruha: It hasn’t.
