Also the series are such an amazing bridge between the movies, they’re so awesome and entertaining! Plus it’s like an after/‘before this event happened’ and I love that!

canon tidbits i think people who've only seen the httyd movies should know that are confirmed in the shows:

tuffnut and snotlout are canonically talented seamsters

we see the prototype versions of hiccup's flaming sword and the flightsuit in race to the edge

hiccstrid's first kiss is in rtte and its perfect

VIGGO GRIMBORN aka the best httyd villain and the "hiccup's evil mirror" concept actually done right

there are multiple societies dedicated to protecting dragons other than berk

snotlout's assholish disposition is a consequence of his deeply held insecurities that if he can't be the best he's the worst, which is encouraged by his father

the other riders (namely snoutlout) have used the ship name hiccstrid to refer to hiccup and astrid

hiccup redeems so many villains in the shows (alvin, dagur, viggo - one of them later performing a heroic sacrifice to save him) that it's completely unsurprising he thought he could change drago's mind

hiccup punched snotlout in the face and knocked him out cold

the shows let the twins be smarter, snotlout be more thoughtful, and astrid more deranged

snotlout's middle name is gary

I have been asked to elaborate, so I'll do my best.

Now, Branch has learned the many different languages of the critters that live in and around Pop Village, which includes the Finders Keepers Crabs. I headcanon that the crabs are especially drawn to items that are very important to someone or something, Branch is treasured amongst the other critters, and they do enjoy having conversations with the survivalist, so they regularly try to take him to an underwater cave where he can stay with them.

Branch tries to talk them out of it, but the crustaceans are very stubborn to get what they want. The first few times, the underwater critters kept the crabs from taking him, and then the village critters started taking action. Mr. Dinkles is head of the Branch Guard and has assigned many pets to be lookouts. Should the selfish shellfish get their pincers on the much loved troll, he'll lead the rescue mission. Often leaving a Dinkle Doll to take his place so Biggie doesn't get suspicious.

Unfortunately, the crabs get more and more creative after each attempt and actually manage to get him to the cave. This is the reason why no one sees Branch in a few episodes. The critters manage to get him back, but they don't leave his side for a few weeks.

I’m fairly certain he went for a singing competition or similar and they abducted him somehow, they could’ve seen a product and thought ‘hey, that’ll work!’ And since then, spritz themselves with his essence

I was gonna ask how Floyd got captured in the first place but also it probably ain’t that hard since he’s a 2-3 inch tall creature 🧍🏻‍♀️ but also how on earth did he find himself in mount rageous and how did velvet and veneer figure out they can use his essence as a performance enhancer

At first I seems as if Branch kept acting hastily whenever Tiny brought the small ring pop pacifier because if Poppy were to see it, it could seem as if he was planning to propose. .

However, at a second thought it could've been because of how he was treated as a baby and having a pacifier in his mouth to help him calm down wouldn't help his case. .

Both makes sense and I love them equally, fairly certain in the end it was the latter
