Some Pitching practice (laughs). His face is so difficult to draw. Trying to mix the movie and the books is kinda weird hmm. I like how some of theses look tho. Yeah.
Alright. Alright. I’m done. I’m done for today. Or this morning..whatever technicalities that implies, I’m going to bed.

In some weird homage to all the snow us east coasters have to deal with lately my last print available at KogaraCon this weekend will be Jack! I had doodles of this way nearly three years ago and I’m really proud of the path I’m going art-wise. Stay warm!

My only concrete wish for a possible Guardians show is that I would love for Tooth to have darker skin, even just an undertone would make me happy. You don’t have to be an “Ess-Jay-Doubleyou” to consider how illogical it is to base so much of a character and their environment on places like India and Thailand yet have her be as pale as the half-dead winter spirit.
I know it’s unlikely to happen, these character designs have been finalized for years, but how fantastic would it be if Dreamworks showed themselves to be that open to criticism and changing for the better?

A highly-stylized CG look could potentially work, especially if the characters were designed accordingly, but I agree that trying to do something similar but cheaper like HTTYD would be too jarring.
Ultimately what I want from a series is charming adventures from characters I like, so it could look anything and I'd be sold on good writing, but 2D would be easier for me to watch in terms of a style change-up
i really really hope that if the rotg series comes to be, dreamworks goes the 2d/hand drawn animation route rather than cg. ‘cause while a cg/3d style might better connect to the film, the budget for the series would be much lower than that of the film - or at least spread out over, say, 12 episodes - and make the animation look cheaper as a result. and i want this series to keep the artistry that the original film had. maybe a 2d style can allow for the series to better reflect the art style in joyce’s novels. but cg models do NOT look as good in series form as they do in the films and i really hope dreamworks strays away from that if/when the rotg series comes to be.

I am very, very slowly working on making another recommendations list, and while my love for writing and fics will be obvious, I find fanvids fun to watch, and it is genuinely surreal going from videos made with a theater camrip to proper DVD quality footage. It's like BAM! Suddenly proper color!
(This also shows how poor YouTube's search function is, if I can mostly find stuff that old. Anything within the past three years is like the Holy Grail, apparently)

“There once was a time called the Golden Age.  It is said that there has never been anything as magnificent before or since.  Travel among the planets and stars was common then.  The galaxies were filled with airships of every shape and size imaginable.  And the universe was ruled be the Constellations– groups of stars and planets led by great, benevolent families who governed with imagination, fairness and flair.  Of these regal families, the House of Lunanoff was the most beloved; if the Golden Age had true royalty, it was Tsar and Tsarina Lunanoff.” – Nicholas St. North and the Battle of the Nightmare King by William Joyce

A hive of activity, and at the center a winged figure barks out orders like a harried air-traffic controller. This is TOOTH. A Mini Tooth Fairy flies up to Tooth as thousands of tiny MINI TOOTH FAIRIES continue their work behind them.
