furries are at least 2.25x more likely to have been diagnosed with a form of autism, are on average 50-100% more likely to have experienced bullying unrelated to being a furry growing up than their peers, only 10% identify as heterosexual, and 50% of furries are found to experience some form of disability
i'm just really tired of seeing people in 2023 still acting like there's no possible connection to be made with seeing furries as disgusting sex perverts who deserve to be ostracized and bullied or made fun of when 9 out of 10 of us are queer

not my screencaps, I've had this loser blocked ever since he went on those seething rants about how Musk-Enjoyers With Animalgirl-Bodypart Urls Are Definitely All Pedophile Sex Freak Incels—and similar for the rest of his clique of transmisogynists who are constantly inciting harassment toward trans women—however,
it has been pointed out to me that I have been mentioned in the context of graphic violence on this man's blog

I'm blocked so I can't see it directly, but if anyone else can report the post for suicide-baiting, the link is here. do NOT otherwise interact with him or his buddies. thanks!

It's been really weird to see people trying to rehabilitate the concept of the callout post with "they USED to be a valuable tool for community safety but then they got turned into a way to attack anyone you don't like" when I've been here for over a decade and the consistent reality that entire time has been that nearly every callout post that goes around is either someone airing their personal drama to the world or someone accusing another person (almost always BIPOC, trans, or an ally thereof!) of horrendous misdeeds with no actual proof beyond unverifiable claims and out-of-context screenshots. In both cases, the "validity" of a claim is almost entirely a contest of "how popular is this person?" vs. "how many people are willing to bully others into believing whatever you say about them?"
But of course the purpose of these things is that the mere existence of an accusation casts a permanent shadow of doubt on a person. A flood of people yelling that you're evil and that anyone who defends you must be evil too is enough to make people believe that surely, surely there's something you did wrong, right? It doesn't matter if the claims make no sense or if you have evidence in your favor or if the accuser admits to lying later on -- by the time that comes out, most people will have moved on with the knowledge that you can't ever be trusted again
Is it safe to say "refusing to buy into slander/harassment campaigns against marginalized people should also involve reevaluating the numerous callouts of past years that everyone just accepted as truth and forgot about" or do people still want to believe that all the KF threads were a "right twice a day" situation

Just hi please don't make the mistake I did. If you feel like you can't tell your friends about a fight you had with a partner or another friend, tell them. I know you feel like they wont understand/dont want to make the other person look bad/dont want to worry them needlessly but please. Trust me. Tell them and ask for help.
