Outraged by the Murders Upset at the Looting Devastated from the Fires Repulsed due to Violence Concerned about Martial Law If your livid with any of those circumstances and want to see the end, then start taking action. Get these laws changed or the chaos will not rest, the uproar has raged on louder than ever before. We need reform, we need community, we need NEW LAWS & A NEW CONSTITUTION. TAKE ACTION Calling on all citizens in the state of Virginia, load that email up & apply pressure on our state and local governments to establish these policies in our police force. To Members of the State: I urge you to support the Black Lives Matter Movement. New legislation should restore the police departments commitment of serving & protecting local communities — which has overwhelmingly failed across the political spectrum around The United States of America — and that’s been destroyed by the militarization of police and senseless killings of those being arrested. We demand community oversight, immediate stripping of power with violations, limited use of force, mandatory body cam usage, effective response to partiarchal violence, decriminalization/ deprioritization of low level offenses, mental health response reform, extensive training and background checks/ psychological evaluations of all officers. These protections save lives and are crucial to preserving civil rights. Policy is where movements evolve, where communities often ignored or stereotyped can receive justice, and where families, friends and people who otherwise would never be heard, have their voices amplified. Institute these human rights into upcoming legislation — now more than ever the State of Virginia needs to step up and heed constituents’ wishes. Create change for the Commonwealth.
