fanglust:
there were already some questionable things about this job. the file seemed sketchy, some things seemed exaggerated or even a straight up lie. he’s had plenty of hits with scorned lovers, someone wanting to kill their significant other for some wrong doing they’ve done or even just some petty issue they had. his morals aren’t exactly angelic so he hasn’t minded taking it. money is money and a meal is a meal at this point. the job should have been like any other. quick and easy.
except there’s one big detail that was left out. maybe it was because the guy who hired him never met him in person, he couldn’t have known what he was to realize that he would have sensed it. that he would immediately recognize the smell of another vampire. she looks scared, as if all of this is new to her, and it’s a sight that turns his stomach. it’s familiar. something he wouldn’t wish on anyone – even if he’s grown to revel in what he’s become. the beginning is always terrifying. now the dilemma shows up. either he pulls out of a job, risking the credibility of his name or he kills her. he isn’t quite sure he can kill her if his suspicion is right. a moment of hesitance before he lowers his gun.

things just keep going from bad to worse. being on the run is hard enough, but now she has to factor in being a fucking vampire. she’d thought she’d planned her escape to freedom so carefully, months of stashing money and conspiring with her brother to get out of italy, but he’d caught up with her in a matter of days, and turned her into this... thing. a bloodsucking freak of nature. she’d bolted out awindow as soon as his back was turned and somehow managed to make it to the united states in one piece, but now she’s completely on her own in an unfamiliar place and she’s starving. it’s hard to ignore the call of blood, even as it completely disgusts her.
not to mention the fact that she now apparently has some crazy person with a gun after her, which is just the icing on top of a perfectly fucked cake. “how do you know my name? i have nothing worth stealing, please--” she puts her hands up in surrender, almost falling over her own feet as she backs away. lowering his gun doesn’t mean he won’t still shoot her. “please, i just moved here, i don’t even have a place to live, i promise i’m not worth any of this.”

anyone who’s met him knows francis has a set of —- issues. a mountain of flaws, however, one of the few positive traits he carries is he remains fiercely protective of anyone he grows to care for. he smells it before he sees it, but it still comes as a surprise when he sees the state ghost is in. a feeling of anger begins to bubble up, a radiating hot feeling that swallows his chest. he doesn’t let it show, though, he doesn’t let anything show. a stoic expression as he walks up to the smaller male. a finger gently lifts his head up and he takes a moment to wipe away some blood. green eyes take time to access the visible injuries to his face, though he can’t tall if there’s any under his clothes. he knows he’ll heal quicker than a human would thanks to what he is, but that doesn’t matter. his mind’s already made up. he’ll kill whoever did it.

he’s still shaken up, and the thought of going home to an empty apartment is the last thing he wants to do, so he shows up on francis’ doorstep instead. he trembles when the vampire touches his face. it hurts more than he’s willing to let on, he may be a werewolf but his tolerance for pain has never been very high. “i needed a hit,” nothing new there, though it’s been a while since he went to his own dealer instead of using francis’ connections. “my dealer wanted the usual payment. i said no, because i do not do that anymore. he did not like that.” toe scuffs against the ground, voice quiet and shaky. “i got away before anything else happened but he knows where i live.”

it’s hard to believe just how much his life has changed in the past year. there’d been a period of time when everyone, including killian himself, had thought that he would never recover from having his heart broken. he’d coped with it in all the worst ways, and yet somehow his friends hadn’t given up on him despite his efforts to make it happen. he’d been so convinced that once he and francis were over, they would all turn their backs, but that hadn’t happened. he’d gotten himself sober, fallen in love with damien, and it was all smooth sailing from there.
it took killian a long time to realize that he was worthy of having a good life. “i’m happy,” the words are simple, and for the first time in a long time, he actually believes them. tonight, he’ll go home to the man he loves and cuddle his cats, and for now, that’s enough. “i hope you find what you’re looking for, frankie. you deserve to be happy too.”

the qunari’s words bring some comfort, though murtagh fails to muster a smile. the people of thedas are relying on him to protect them, but he’s stumbling at best. the inquisitor wonders, not for the first time, if he’s even the right person for the job. he has the mark, but surely there must be someone far more capable of doing this than him. the elf swallows, averting his eyes away from bull. he’s never been one for admitting his shortcomings, but the weight of it all is beginning to become too much. “i fear i cannot live up to expectations.”

a reminder about multimuses
we don’t owe you a muse to be active. if you follow us a specific muse or perhaps a handful of them and we haven’t made them active/done anything with them in some time, you have plenty of options for how to go about this and demanding that that muse be made active is not one of them. some muns are better at balance than others, some prefer to let their muses take shifts, some just work with whoever is strongest. we will go with our own flow and not whatever flow you want from us. if you’re in this situation:
consider asking if the mun would be up to plot. sometimes inactive muses are inactive simply because winging it or coming up with things on the spot is harder with that muse at the time. some muns put muses that have been getting little interest inactive. some muses do better with plotting. even if the mun still isn’t entirely feeling them even for plotting, they’ll probably be glad you were respectful, and maybe even feel excited that someone wants that muse ( though high key recommend also asking to plot with at least something in mind so you’re not making them feel like they’re doing the work for something you want ).
just keep scrolling or block the tags of the muses you’re not interested in who are getting more attention from the mun. let them have fun with who they’re enjoying most at the time. it’s just not that hard. if you have zero interest in that muse, no one’s going to force you to pay their posts and such attention.
unfollow. like if you’re following and waiting for a specific muse and just getting annoyed/angry with the mun, just leave. we don’t want you hanging around if you can’t respect us loving other muses ( or at least i know i don’t ). we’re a multimuse blog not a “tell me which muse you want and i’ll provide at exactly that time” blog.
consider learning about the muses they’re excited over or who are currently active. getting into an unfamiliar fandom or even just learning about that one unfamiliar character can be a lot of fun, especially if you enjoy the mun. it’s a great way to bond with the mun, too, and will make them more excited to rp with you with the character you were really hoping for because you gave their other muses a chance and got to know you as a person and writer. you might get a new relationship or verse you never imagined having. maybe you’ll even come to like the material if it’s a canon. the mun probably has some good info pages for you to read or is more than happy to ask questions if you don’t want to watch said material ( or if an oc, of course ). plus there’s the beauty of search engines. if you like watching five seasons of that one tv show you adore, you might enjoy twenty minutes of reading a bit about your friend’s character.
