Some random bits

Look at this view of the mountain from the spruce forest. I have to do something with this! Not sure what yet.

I finished my storage room and I really like it. I wish the glass didn’t have the lines but the connection mod doesn’t work in 1.19. Maybe I’ll try in 1.20

Oh and I found the deep dark. I didn’t go in and I actually cannot remember where this is 🙈

Potion Tower

I made this tower for my clerics and also to make potions. It is a bit overkill as I only have 3 clerics. I changed the material if the walls three times. So this took forever!

I really like the amethyst. I want to use it more!

And I love the look of it in the distance.

I’ve done a lot more over the last few weeks and have screenshots but we’ve also been moving house so I’ve been so busy.

So happy to get Minecraft back though, I’m still obsessed!

This is the sugar cane house that I made the other day. It is right next to the cartographer house. I like it! I had a lot of trouble with the tower roof as it was a rectangle and not a square. But I figured out something okaaaaaay in the end.

This is the cartographer house. It has room at the bottom for 10 cartographers that have the 16 banner colours.

They have a little yard with a garden and some benches.

And inside is like a bit of a dorm. I’m not sure if it’s bad to have so many beds in the world. Like if that spawns the golems? But I can’t just lock them up in a cage.

Then the special item frame villager gets his own apartment upstairs with a bedroom, balcony, kitchen and watch tower. He is the second item frame trader. The other one died after a very unlucky trip from the village breeder.

I also made some paths connecting my house to the start of the town. I love the lamps and the trees.

You can’t really see it that well here, but this acacia tree is overhanging the path so nice let when you walk under it.

Speaking of golems, I accidentally made an iron farm with this river. This is only a fraction of the golems swimming in there now. There’s about 30. I don’t know if I should leave it as a “feature”. I wonder if it is stopping them from spawning, because it is nice that they aren’t walking all over the place.

I’ve been playing a lot this week but not updating my Minecraft tumblr so I’ll do a few short updates to catch up!

My starter house tour

Here is my little upstairs crafting area

This is the front entrance. I’m just adding random armor to the armor stands as I find them.

This is the tiny storage area that will need to be expanded soon.

I finished the fletcher house

This is my first villager house and I really like it!

The villagers can roam outside if they want and also do some archery.

This is the downstairs.

There is room for 5 fletchers. Villagers are so stupid though and they kept throwing themselves over the balcony and killing themselves. So I had to take down the stairs and now most of them are trapped upstairs because they can climb ladders but not climb down?

I might reorganise the stairs and walls at some point as I wanted them to roam around a bit more.

I’m back from my trip to Italy and literally all week I was just wanting to play Minecraft. So today I played about 5 hours.

It didn’t start well.

I fell in lava by accident while I was tunnelling across and trying to find a warped forest. I lost all my enchanted tools and armor. Oops. I was so mad I quit and didn’t go back on till the after.

So with the need to get more xp to enchant tools and things, I started to build an xp farm. This is from 128 blocks up.

The texture pack I have makes the rainbows and from this high up the rainbow is a full circle. It was pretty cool. I saw this in an airplane once. So it’s accurate!

It took a couple of hours to make the xp farm but it works pretty well. I got about 22 levels in 15 minutes. Just need to upgrade my sword and I’ll be cooking.

You can just about see it in the sky from my started house. I want to make it into a UFO! I think that will be so cool.

And then the last funny thing was all the iron golems kept falling in the river. There’s about 6 of them in there. I hope they don’t rust.

Tomorrow I want to:

Get some clay to make pots for flowers

Take photos of the finished fletcher house and my starter house

Start the map room and cartographer tower (because finally after about 30 cartographers I got one with item frame trade)

And also I want to go back to the nether and find the warped forest. Maybe I’ll even use chink finder, I don’t have any problem with cheating a little bit to help, especially not in the nether.

I’ve been doing lots on my world this week.

I built a custom cliff

I used a video from blue nerd and followed his steps. It looked very ugly to start with.

But after adding all the texture and details and lights, it looked really cool.

I’m going to clear out a bigger area on the cliffs and that’s where the castle will go eventually.

I made a river

I drew the path first. It snakes down from the cliffs. I want the castle to have a walkway that goes over it.

I dug it all out and added some texture and sea grass but I really wanted some colour and light!

So I went in search of a coral reef and grabbed a bunch of coral and sea pickles.

It looks pretty cool at night. These shaders make the water look invisible at some angles though which is weird.

I started a fletcher house

I started building a house and archery range for the fletchers. But I tried this done roof and it looked so weird and stubby.

So I put this roof on it instead and I Think it’s much better. I just need to make the tower at the end and get the fletchers in.

I want to do a building or house for every profession and farm. And the town will be so big! It’s pretty fun. I’m going away for a week on Saturday though, so maybe I won’t want to play when I get back….or maybe all I’ll want to do it play 🤷‍♀️

I have been playing a few hours this week to chill out after work. I have really been enjoying learning about terraforming and trying it myself. Bluenerd on YouTube has some great tutorials.

I also followed another tutorial by disruptive builds on adding custom shaders and I think they look so good! The shader pack even had rainbows after it rains which is such a nice touch.

I started cleaning this area which will be the main town.

There was this huge hole in the ground that led to a massive cave structure and a ravine. I lit up what I could…

And then covered the whole thing. It’s a bit boring now but I will add in more terraforming and also a river!

I probably shouldn’t play so much tomorrow as I have a lot of work to do…but I’m just loving playing so much right now. So I’m sure I will pop on for a couple of hours :)

I played a lot of Minecraft at the weekend. I went exploring to the south east (I think) and I was determined to find a mesa biome.

I found a woodland mansion and stayed well away

I made friends with a wolf and then promptly lost him

I found this frozen river biome and learned the joy of boating along ice

And then, 5000 blocks later, just as I was about to give up a saw this beautiful sight.

They had a mesa so I could collect lovely terracotta

And was right above a mineshaft so I could collect a bunch of spiderwebs and rails

I spent a few days in the village and collected as much as I could carry.

Then I popped back home and started the next big mission - a started base.

I’ve been watching a lot of Minecraft builders on YouTube and have been inspired by wonderful terraforming. So I thought I would give it a go and make this hill a gentle slope.

I started by cutting the levels I wanted. And the cut away each level so eventually it slipped down smoothly. I want to turn this area into farms.

And there is my started house. It will eventually be a farmhouse for some farming villagers but I think it is a nice little starter base.

I’ll do a little tour in the next few days as it’s a bit hard to see in this tiny image.

It was really fun building this house, I haven’t really tried to build anything like this before. It’s normally a glass block or an underground hole 🤷‍♀️ but I really love this creative side of Minecraft!

So this is the island now (just one side, it’s a huge island. I drew over it tonight.

So I added places for castle, houses, town, beach,farms, animal sanctuary’s, magic forest, lighthouse, beach, and a cemetery.

Then there is this huge hole/amphitheater in the middle of the map which I thought would be cool to turn into a big park. And then there is a big ravine that I could turn into a river that goes through the island. Because it would be fun to make lots of bridges.

I even planned the roads. I doubt this will stay as is though…it’s just to get thinking :)

So my first step will be to make the farmhouse on the hill. This will be my storage and starter base.

I want to put the villagers in the areas they belong. Like farmers in the farms etc. but for now they will

Just live underground and I can move them as I need to I guess 🤔 This is the most I’ve ever thought about Minecraft 😂

I am planning my town! I blocked my way up to take a couple of screenshots and I'm going to do a little draw over later of where I want all the areas to be. I have never done a bit build like a town before, or even a village, so it will be a big project :)

The other day I fetched a couple of villagers and I've basically just put them in a hole in the ground. I'm trying to get a Cartographer to give the item frame trade but apparently, it's really rare.

I want to play the game as cruelty-free as possible. I've tried this before but always give up and end up slaughtering a bunch of cows.

I know they are just pixels...but I really want to try to not kill or eat any animals. So I will be trading for annoying items like item frames. Why do you need leather to hang up a map anyway? Can't you just stick it to the wall??

I went exploring to the west tonight (I realllllly want to find the bad lands and a mine shaft) but instead, i found a dark oak forest and a spruce forest!

I also saw my first frog. These guys make such a weird sound.

And I found the mangrove swamp. I completely forgot about mangroves. So I grabbed as much as I could and I'll try to grow some back at base.

It is really fun playing minecraft again, I forgot how much I loved this game :)

I went exploring the last couple of days.To the South there are more mountains and a birch forest.

I found a village and trapped everyone in their houses for later.

To the North are a savannah and bamboo jungle. I found another village with only one occupant, so I stole all his workstations and left him alone and defenseless.

I also found an azalea tree and would love to explore the lush cave underneath at some point in the near future.

I started making a to-do list wall for some smaller plans like "make an actual starter house", and some big plans like "make a train ride around the mountain top".

In the next couple of days, I will explore the east and west. I would like to find all the types of trees so I can have some more build options. I only play for an hour or so every couple of days so it will be slow going, but relaxing :)

I started a new Minecraft world and wanted to start documenting it. I normally start a new world every time I start playing Minecraft again. but this time I am going to try to play in the same world FOREVER!

Today I found a cool seed with a mountain island, built the worst little starter shack and that's about it. I have lots of plans for my little world though :)
