weekly reflections 7
This week I have been focusing on women’s empowerment and different positive campaigns. I have found always #LikeAGirl Campaign which I really loved research and as I just love that brand and what they’re about and I think this so empowering. I’ve also found the close the bloody hero campaign which I also really loved and I’m happy I research them as they are so positive and I think they’re great type of research and example of a positive campaign and it’s something I want to incorporate in my work with their positivity and I think when you look at them they just make you feel happier and everything so bright and colourful on there I’ve also looked at some behind the sisterhood campaigns which is giving me lots of inspiration for mine and I’m happy I’m really excited to start finalising my graphics and just make it into a full campaign with adding some products and stationery. That is really my plan for next week and the next upcoming weeks but so far I’m really happy with some of my edits I’ve started out with and I’m really excited for the end to see them all to come together and see everything I have produced.

weekly reflections 11
This week is obviously our last and final week, my main problem solving thing I have done this week was take the logos off of my Google sites of my graphic work which I made a full blog post about. But I have been finalising everything and started my evaluation and making my proposal on my blog all up to scratch for submitting on Friday. I obviously have completed all of my graphics last week and now uploaded them on my Google site is completely done and I’m happy with it I’m just making sure all of my blog is done and adding photos and any last-minute research into that too.

estrid
Tumblr media
Estrid is a brand that sells races and they say shaving is a choice, as it should be. Estrid is just here to offer a cute, kind, cheap, and supersmooth option. Because that is what we deserve. That and most other things. We are here for any and everyone who feels like shaving from time to time. And for those who don’t to. So whether you enjoy a little armpit fluff, have a bikini line smooth as a baby seal belly, Norwich are down the upper lip, or rock the occasional legs double-we got you. Astrid’s purpose isn’t just a razorAstrid is a fairly priced, cruelty free, quality Ray said that is specifically made for women. This might sound kind of obvious, but before we created a straight it wasn’t. We had a hard time finding a razor that was made for the female shape, but available at the same price as one built for the mail jawline. We wanted a razor that didn’t have any animal products in the hydrating strips. And we wanted to say all kinds of gorgeous people use it-because nothing is quite as beautiful as the different shapes, curves, and shades of the human body. So we made our own. A female focus razor without all the bad stuff, and a fairly price. They so affordable quality races and have fresh blades delivered to your door monthly or however frequently you like and you can update, change, pause or cancel at any time they are made so you never run out of plates again. You start by selecting your favourite handle that speaks to you. To make it super easy they’ve made a starter kit for you with two razorblades and a matching wall mount you tell them how often you want your plate and they’ll deliver them right to your door. I really wanted to research Oestrick because I love what they’re about I think they really support women with whatever they decide today and they know that woman’s hair is such a big stigma around it and they support women if they want to shave all they don’t which I love. The brand is so women focused and it just seems like a happy place you can tell they really care about women as their prices are low so anyone can afford it and the products look cute and aesthetically pleasing and you can tell that the people behind the brand loving and really caring people. Personally I have seen this brand a lot from influences on Instagram/YouTube and I’ve seen a lot of people talk about it recently that’s why I found it to research today but I really love how many people love this brand I’ve never heard anybody say a bad thing about it and I think that’s because it’s just so amazing with how they care about women and they know if you want to shave or you don’t or if you want to sometimes that’s completely fine.as I am researching about women and sisterhood and relationships and women’s power I think this was a great brand to research as they really show all of these things.

taking labels off
On my Google site I had to do some problem-solving. I decided to put my logo labels in the top right hand corner of everyone of my graphics. I uploaded all of my graphics to Google sites and placed them in the layout and finalised it as I wanted it and we decided we thought that the graphics would look better with out the logos as it kind of takes away the view of the whole graphic. We wanted to be able to have a main focus on the graphic and not have something that can ruin the look of the whole thing. I really agree with that and now taking the logos off I think it looks so much better. I had to change the logos on my Google site on my iPad which I found really difficult today as it wasn’t as easy as doing it on a computer and it didn’t let me move the images about so I had to click on the image and press replace say I just replaced each image but on one of them it didn’t let me so two of the graphics still have the logos on them but they’re only small so I don’t think it matters too much and it’s showing that some of them did have logo onto. I’ve kept my logos on for just the products so the notebook/postcards and I think this is so much better now and I’m really happy we decided to do that I’m a lot more happier with them now and I love just having the logos on my products not all of my graphic work.

weekly reflections 10
This week I had all of my graphics finally finished which we uploaded to Google sites for our final assessments that was our main task for this week. We have obviously been really independent with our work in the last few weeks and choosing our own research et cetera. This week I have researched a notebook/stationery brand to go with my products that I have also made more cups for this week I’m really happy with how they turned out and I was happy with using the Google sites website and I think that was super easy and I really like how it looks. This week I’ve just had continued using the same processes I have previously which I have been using Illustrator, Photoshop, Google sites and my blog. The only setback I’ve had this week was my logos on all of my graphic work on my Google sites which I have made a whole blog post about as it was a big kind of problem-solving thing that I solved within my work and I’m a lot more happy with after I did that. My plan for next week is to make all my graphics logo free for my Google sites and finalise my blog, my proposal, and write out my valuation for handing in next week.

Today we started making our google sites and uploading our work on there for assessment. This was super easy, and we could choose all our layouts and the designs of things and just upload everything. We had a page for our fmp work and then our portfolio page too. On my main fmp page I uploaded all my graphic artwork and then I uploaded 2 mock-ups and then a little flip book for some of the photography from this project. I really love the idea of the flipbooks; they are so cool. To do his we went onto flip snack website, and I just uploaded my favourite photos from this project so when people go onto my sites, they can see all my edits and then some photography Aswell. I enjoyed making this site and it is a great software to highlight all the work. All the edits look good together. On the right hand side, you have a lot of options to add things on to the sites for example different layouts, text boxes and links etc. I added different layouts to mine and wanted to showcase all the edits with different layouts too.

oh laura
Tumblr media
Laura is the main designer, maker, order packer, post office runner, accountant, and everything else in between. She set up this small business from her bedroom in Sheffield, originally printing messages on tote bags with foam letters she had it out by hand and dipped in fabric paint. She started printing some of her favourite quotes on tote bags for herself and her family. She loved the idea of using a bag that could send a message to everyone who saw it. Eventually, other people started asking if they could buy them from her for their friends and their family and I developed from here. She opened her shop in May 2014 and has been amazed at the support of her little business. Since then, he has reigned her process and developed a range of products al based around adding positivity to everyday. I came across oh Laura on Pinterest and loved the designs of the notebooks. They have really inspired me, and they have different quotes and typography on them like what I have been doing which I love. I love the little notebooks they look so happy and cute, she also does a lot of different things like stationary, makeup bags, mugs, mirrors, pots, badges, and stickers etc. All her work looks so happy when you see them.

Here are some of the final mockups of the notebooks and the postcards the postcards didn’t fit perfectly into the shape but I couldn’t find any other postcard mockups so I thought that would just have to do it and I still really like how they come out. They are just a mock up and I think you can see what I was trying to display so I’m still happy with them. I really love the notebooks and I’m happy with 30 shades of colours are used for the background on the string on the notebook I think it goes with the graphic perfectly and I really like the logos on these graphics on the mock up to 2. I really am happy with these and I think there are good examples of the stationery I could produce for this sisterhood brand including the different graphics I have done and I think it shows that my graphics can be used for different stationery like notebooks and postcards etc.

mock-up
Tumblr media
These are my notebook and postcard mock-ups. I got the mock-ups from mock-up world, I am happy with the notebook mock-up's, I couldn’t find a nice postcard one so I am not as happy with them, but they are an example for what they could look like. I changed the background on the notebook one to suit the colours of the prints better and I like how that turned out. I think these are a great example and they look great. I have now got so many prints, so I wanted to make a few different mock-ups notebooks and postcards using some of the different ones. These give me a good picture of the brand and good products for the campaign. Overall, I like how they have turned out. When making these I downloaded the mock-up and put onto photoshop and then double clicked the little page icon in the layers and then added my design onto the page it took me too and saved it and then it came onto the mock up.

Here are my final prints with the branding. I really love how these have come out and I think these all together as a series of prints looks so good and I love them. I am happy with what I have achieved in this final part of this project. These have taken me a while and I am a perfectionist and critical of my own work so I have wanted to make them all look perfect. They are all different colours and some are just prints and some are just typography/illustrations and on some I have combined the two. I really love them. I like the subtle branding too, it is different and small and I love that because the campaign is about the different graphic drawings so I didn’t want something to bold and out there to take anything away from the original art.

the girls bathroom started by two life long best friends Sophia and cinzia, they are from Nottingham and originally started as you tubers. I have watched there youtube videos for a long time and they started a podcast called the girls bathroom, from that they have also started the girls bathroom apparel which includes includes some clothes and also some accessories. They say the girls bathroom is a place we all know to be full of girls chat and gossip. I wanted to research them as they are a different type of sisterhood I wanted to look at which is the best friends and they have created there own brand just from their friendship. I think people love watching and listening to them because of this and all of their story’s they have together as these life long best friends. I feel like this shows how powerful relationships are and they have really formed a job and their life just because of friendship and their love. This is a type of sisterhood to me they are as close as sisters and a sister bond I think sisterhood doesn’t have to be just sisters too. I really liked their accessories for their the girls bathroom part of their brand as they’re small little things like the notebook for example. This impaired me for little things I could create for my soul sister brand. I really like these smaller things other than lager products.

This is my final logo which I am putting in the top right corner of all of my postcards edits. I really like it and I also really wanted it to be circular as I really like that. I think whenever you will see one of the postcards you will know it’s from the soul sister brand and it isn’t too in your face and overwhelming it is subtle branding which I love. I wanted something small and minimal which is my theme and my favourite thing to do, I also wanted to add some drawing into the logo as that is what all of my postcards are too. I love the hand and it’s crossed, symbols closeness and 2 and relationship, which is perfect for sisterhood and I also wanted to have the brand name soul sister in there too, I chose this typography which I drew myself because I wanted something quite fun. I didn’t want anything to standard and plain, I didn’t want it to look boring because that isn’t why this brand is about so I am happy I chose this even though it doesn’t look too perfect.

Customer profile
This is my customer profile for my brand soul sister campaign. I thought for my campaign I can picture somebody who is quote into indie music and art work as I can imagine these postcards all on a wall in a bedroom or something. So I wanted to create this character called katie, I made her 22 and a music uni student so towards the end of their uni education. I put them in Manchester as fashion is a big thing in Manchester and I wanted them to be a bright personality and someone who wears a lot of colour and colourful jewellery and hair etc. I chose there hobbies as indie music and art as I think somebody who is interested in this will like my prints. I think these prints vary and there is some different ones that could fit quite large target audiences, but when picturing a particular person this is what I came up with and I am happy with it.
