summary: your childhood friend mark comes over to your house to binge some trash tv and ends up making a life changing confession.

warnings: not much, mainly fluff maybe slight swearing.

a/n: this is my first piece of writing ever on this so please go easy on me :) feedback is much appreciated <3

slumped over on your couch your phone buzzes, almost falling off your couch arm with the vibrations. “mark💟” it reads as an incoming call, you obviously accept.

“hey y/n how are you on this fine day?” mark asks.

“better im talking to you marky, what’s happening?” you intentionally use the nickname marky as you know it’s annoys him.

“glad to here it, fancy me coming over and binging trash tv all night? i’ll get some snacks on my way over”

“of course, i haven’t seen you in ages! remember to get me-“

“Haribos, fangtastics to be specific” he finishes your sentence for you, you could sense his smart ass smirk through the phone.

“you know me too well mark, see you soon, love you!” you gushed slightly rosy at the cheeks.

“i love you too y/n” he replied, only this time it sounded different, as if he meant it differently.

you thought no more of it and decided to go and freshen up. you headed to your bathroom for a shower, shuffling your favourite lady gaga tunes and singing along with her. when you were out you decided to dress lazy putting on some pjs, you knew mark wouldn’t mind as this wasn’t the first time. after putting on some tartan trousers and a black tank top you dried your hair and put it up out the way in a clip.

not long at all after mark show up. “hello” he shouts to try and find me. “kitchen!” i reply

he comes in with a whole bag of junk food, including a pizza box. “what do we have here?” i usher with a grin on my face taking some of the stuff out of his arms while he takes off his coat.

“only the best for you, angel” he replies

“why thank you” i reply looking the other way to try hide my enormous smile and red cheeks because of the nickname.

he noticed but decided not to tease me, instead just mirrored my smile.

“while, shall we eat?” i ask trying to change the subject.

“yes! sounds great, this pizza smells amazing. pepperoni” he answers

we carry the food into my living room, put on stranger things and binge.

we were about 2 or 3 episodes in, pizza absolutely devoured. mark looked at me straight in the eyes and said “i adore you” i almost choked on my drink, so shocked.

“you’re taking the piss right?” i ask, so unused to this kind of attention, let alone any.

“what do you mean?” he asks confused

“i don’t get why you adore me, what’s so special about me? i’m just a basic 25 year old” i say almost scoffing.

“i love you y/n, i really do, i literally don’t know how you haven’t realised that, i’ve been dropping so many hints” he says with a smirk similar to the one i felt during the phone call.

“i thought it be best to just tell you straight at this point” he half heartedly joked.

“i mean i love you too mark but i don’t want you to think i’m just saying that, i genuinely do and have for a while to be honest” i confessed

“ i’m glad the feeling mutual” he still is smirking

we were already sort of cuddling, my back was pressed against his chest. i turned around to face him taking in his magical scent. he stroked my cheek and pulled me in ever so closely, waiting for consent. i closed the gap between us our lips colliding. my hands went for his hair tugging on it, earning a groan of approval from him. he was holing my wait and my jaw with another hand, keeping me close. it was magical, the best kiss i had ever had.

after what felt like a lifetime we pulled a part gasping for air.

“wow” was all i could say

“wow indeed” mark replied with a laugh

he pulled me back in to his chest and held me close, i felt home.

he stroked my hair while we both sat in a comfortable silence, me still trying to comprehend the last minutes.

“i love you so much” i blushes

“i love you too love” mark replied, his head resting upon mine.

“we should do this more often” he jokes

“definitely” i laughed

what a night i thought but i wouldn’t change it for the world.
