I don't want to make this a psa or anything but if you're here in this fandom post 7 x 04, in all seriousness I am happy you found this show/fandom and I do not mean to gatekeep. But it is so fucking annoying that so many of you new fans have made zero effort to understand fandom history or even watch the show before season 7. I guess to each their own, and if that's how you choose to watch a show then that's on you, but most of you have decided to camp in the inboxes of people who have been here a while and you either rehash drama the fandom has seen about fifty times every season or you come in here with the most rancid and clueless takes because your knowledge of the show started with the cruise ship disaster. 911 is not a show you watch only from season 7 because you found a couple you like (I also like that couple and this is not at the fans who came in post 7x04 and are being normal about it). 911 is not even a show you watch from season 2 tbh, there's too much character and plot development happening every season to really grasp the stories these creators are telling if you start midway. Once again, none of this would be something I give a damn about beyond just being quietly mind boggled that people choose to consume media this way, but those of you who do this need to stop coming into inboxes and post replies and reblogs being extremely annoying at best and extremely racist at worst. I would listen to some of your opinions more if you bothered to make the slightest effort into knowing what the story is, let alone understanding character motivations.

It's not just the way Eddie scoffs at the idea that Buck would have to ask if he could come in.

It's also the way that—the moment he realizes it's Buck—he visibly relaxes and steps back immediately to give him space to walk through that door.

on the one hand i do love mess but also. im so glad they cut the eddie kim/shannon kiss (not getting into the whole thing of kim only being kissed once she's playing shannon because oh boy) but that hug. i just feel like that hug was so much More than a kiss you know. did so much more. that hug was for him. that hug probably took him back to when they were just kids blushing and fumbling their way through crushes on their best friend. that hug was a comfort and an apology and a goodbye all at once. that hug will probably be the start of him being able to let her go because now he's held her one last time.
