Creating my title was fairly easy, I wanted find a fairly dark and eery photo of a camera but instead found a photo of the lens and shutters of a camera which found cool as it looked suiting. I then found a text on dafont.com and thinking it would be best to go with something old fashioned I went with a typewriter text and added it too the photo in a dull but catching colour. I added it to my trailer and the next step is to present them.

During the night shoot I found that I struggled to take a lot of shots I needed, mainly because I needed to wait for night to take the shots I wanted. I found multiple locations that would have been great places to find my mysterious camera in its box however they were either hard to get too, such as a small stream or tiny island I could put the box in, or too grimy to use as I wanted to maybe use the old military posts to put my box in but could not due to so much litter left by other people. The only other shots I wanted to use required the dark to produce so most of the day was spent waiting for it to get dark. We defiantly had enough time to produce enough material and got plenty of shots in the end.
The only problem we found with filming night was lighting which at first was hard to work out what we would need, I bought a small flickery torch but also bought a miniature spot light that gave off a lot of light. I found the torch useful to use as it gave off enough light that we could see the shot but still made the shot eery and spooky when it flickered unsteadily. Despite facing quite a few problems I managed to resolve them and got all the shots I needed on the day.

Comparison: Story board and final trailer
I created my first idea for a story board at the start of this term and wanted my trailer to be interesting and eery by using narration, audio and a creepy atmosphere to the filming. However during filming our shots and developing our trailer multiple things had to be changed to fit the time and shots I had. Where I originally planned to have narration I chose to use music as I felt I wouldn't have the time to fit it in. Some of the shots were in different order and some were not included in the story board at all as I recycled a few shots from other people and also lost a few of the videos I originally wanted to use. Instead of adding narration and sound effects of a camera I decided to add simply add transitions for most of my trailer and music in the back ground that the shots each go well with.
The ideas I had were cool and I felt like they would have suited my trailer, but I am still pleased with the end result of my trailer despite the changes I had to make.

To create a much larger board for our game and pieces, me and Kieran created extra board peices to go inbetween spaces we have each created to activate an effect. To add a fading effect we have related the colours and some details on the peices so they go with the ones they will be next too. Because we had very little else to do helping add to the game was nice to do and by the end we should hopefully have a well structured board game with the board spots and game cards.

Some personal work, focusing mainly on drawing the human body, taking inspiration for other pieces of work and learning how to draw simple clothing. I feel that I have improved from my first drawing and I am finding drawing certain things easier then when I started.
I have been told to upload more practise work and writing based on some of my projects so I will aim to practise more in my spare time and write about some the next set of projects we are given.

"The armature is made out of tin foil wrapped around a big hook that is screwed tight in the wooden stand. I sculpted , baked it and paint it in 2 evenings. The first evening I sculpted the wolf's snout to short, thats the great thing about sculpey, its easy clay to correct. I easily chopped off his snout with a knife and made it a bit longer, With NSP or monsterclay that won't be that easy"
Thomas van der Veer created a werewolf head out of supersculpty based on Rick Bakers American werewolf. It is interesting how versatile and easy to use sculpty can be, it can hold vast amounts of detail and can easily be manipulated for a very long time for on going projects. When using sculpty myself I found it easy to work with and fun to use, my end result was a bit underwhelming but if I use it again I will try to be more dynamic with its uses. This work is very detailed and shows a lot of skill in creating a scary character that can display the classic idea of a werewolf.

Development of my company logo for our trailers, I based it off of classic curses and superstitions such as black cats being bad luck. As my movie trailer is also based off of curses I thought it suited the theme and went with the music and nature of my ideas. I like creating silhouette art as it is effective and does not require much detail other then the shape of the figure.

Casey Loves passion for the art of mask making began in 1997 as Casey started making latex monster masks for collectors. He has produced resin model kits, Latex masks, Fine Art creature displays and busts all around the world. For the last nine years Casey has worked in the Make-up Fx field with some of the best artists and studios in the business such as A.D.I.,Tatopoulos Studios, Steve Wang,The Character Shop, KNB FX, Cinovation and Guillermo Del Torro. Casey has worked on such films as The Cave, Resident Evil Extinction, The Messengers, AVP Requiem, Wolverine, Cirque Du Freak, Race To Witch Mountain, Trick R Treat, Priest, Predators, The Thing (prequel) and most recently M.I.B. 3. His work is very cool and very creepy which I think is the point, even without watching the creatures in the movie I can feel slightly wary of the creatures he has created and his work is very effective.

To add some extra additions to my models I designed some playing cards that would go with the character and a certain space on the game board, the cards would have an effect that causes anyone who lands on the space to get a negative or positive buff. My cards were nice but I would like to improve on the text as it was misplaced in some spots because I was struggling to work out where the typewriter would place text. I then designed my board space that would hold this card and it's effect, I felt like this also went good and I liked the end result of it. Along with my design worksheet and complete model I have most of the work done. Out of the tasks I set myself I felt as if my base and cards were the more enjoyable part of this project and were well done. I felt like my model was lacking in detail and could have been better done. If I as to improve somehow I would have wanted to make a bigger and more detailed wolf model on a more suiting base, I would want to put the wolf in a more dynamic pose and improve of its face proportions as the head was the main thing that looked off. I enjoyed making the tile and cards more so feel like I may be more suited for 2d and writing work until I improve in my modelling skills.

My Main Setbacks
During the course I've managed to do my best and get through despite feeling I have a lack of experience and less of an artistic eye then most others. I have written for a lot longer then I've drawn or made models or used Macs to create work. I normally prefer to use other people's art work to show my characters in stories as I don't have the experience to do the characters apperance justice and often prefer describing my stories, worlds and characters through words. However one of my aims is to gain confidence and eventually feel like I can create art or models of my characters and be pleased with how they look so I can add artistic skills to my other creative practises. I feel like I will first and foremost stay a writer by I would like to be able to display my worlds through art too so I have a better chance of success in the modern art era.

My idea to create a wolf model came from a story I have been developing myself named Wolves of Winterwood. The story follows a pair of wolves and their decent into a mystery that has harshly effect their lives. One of the main characters is named Oak and he is who I based my model on.
Oak is described as a large and powerful young wolf, with thick chestnut brown fur and amber eyes. He has always been one of my favorite characters to design and talk about as I like his gentle nature and his loyalty to the other main character. He has always had a mysterious background and despite knowing he is lost from his true family, he fights for the one that welcomed him in as vows to protect his pack. I have always loved wolves and writing about them is an interesting experience as you need to understand their body language and mannerisms.

^^^ I used reference photos to help design realistic characters, this being Oaks main inspiration.

During our game piece project I decided to create a wolf/dog like character as the main feature in my piece. to do this I did a variety of different studies on the anatomy, bone structure and muscle composition of larger dogs and wolves. This also helped with my drawing work sheets. My researched helped me form a fairly accurate body structure for my wolf and also helped me pose it better on its stand and understand how an actual wolf would move. I still feel like the end product turned out to be fairly stiff and too simple in places sir would aim to improve on this the next time I do something with polymer clay.
