FINAL REFLECTION

After these 18 months, I can say that it was not my favourite part of the IB curriculum, however, there were aspects that I truly enjoyed. For example, i enjoyed doing service work around my community for example helping the elderlies by cleaning their houses or helping them built furniture; or helping the school in the orgaznitaion of some events, for instance, prom for the class of 2023 or making the yearbook. Furthermore, i truly enjoyed improving my skills in cutosmising clothes because i liked giving my work as a present to others. Lastly, I enjoyed doing the sports related to activity because it was a much needed break during the studying and other school things.

Overall, i enjoyed CAS because it helped me get out of my comfort zone, moreover it was a nice break from the normal day to day life.

Here, i undertook the challenge of communication and shyness because as a pager i had to enter classrooms and give out letter, therefore in some cases it was extremely stressing.

My CAS experience:

- What did you enjoy most about CAS?

One of the main aspects that i have enjoyed the most about my CAS is definitely he active and creative aspect, because i truly enjoy. Moreover, it is quite motivating to find something creative to do, as we have to post it. Therefore, i really enjoyed that i have to prove that i was doing different activities because it motivated me do things outside of my normal day.

- What was your greatest challenge and how did you overcome this?

It was quite challenging to post some of my artwork (customised clothes), because in some cases I was afraid that some may find my work unworthy. Therefore, while it was quite stressing, it was quite nice to post something creative that I made myself. Additionally, instead of being scared of posting my work, I decided to ignore all the sceneries that could of happened, and continued doing the thing I love.

- What have you achieved through CAS?

After these 18 moths, I can say I achieved new skills, for example, I have gotten better at customising clothes with crystals or cooking. Moreover, in the case of activity I achieved a 2nd placement on a big dance competition.

- What abilities and skills did you develop most significantly in CAS?

I developed my research and communication skills because when i had to look for service, because the service I used to do stopped happening, I had to find new ways to fulfil this element. Additionally, i think that i developed my ability to take care of another person, as in this case, I became cap staff, therefore I had to take care of children that do not always behave well.

- Which learning outcome did you find most easy to achieve? Most difficult to achieve?

Out of all the learning outcomes, I think that the easiest one to achieve was working collaboratively with others. While the most difficult to achieve was showing preservative and commitment as it was time-consuming.

CREATIVITY - as part of my creativity in February, I decided to once again do my favourite creative activity and customise a t-shirt for my friend as I was trying to make him a nice and memorable gift that h can actually use. In this case, is as once again putting crystals on the shirt in order to put the word “police” on the shirt. While it was time-consuming, it was extremely worth his reaction in the end.

ACTIVITY - as part of my activity i decided to add my surfing again, as i did spend a whole week surfing. Moreover it was extremely nice to do a different form of exercise than the usual i do when I am home.

SERVICE - again as part of my service, i decided to further gather things and clothes that I don’t use anymore, and give them to people in need.

ACTIVITY - as part of my February activity I went surfing in Fuertaventurra. While the main aim of this trip was to get a tan, my sister and I went surfing everyday for a week for approximately 3/4 hours a day. It was extremely tiring, however, in the end it was worth it, as both my sister and I saw a significant difference in our muscles.

SERVICE - throughout the whole of January i decided to do something different, that would be beneficial not only for Rome but also for my surrounding. Fo the pass month i have been explicitly cleaning my whole house in order to give up objects and clothes that neither me or my family use anymore. Doing this as my service has motivated me to do a deep clean more often as then other people get a use of it, because after gathering all the clothes and object. We took the bags to a pic bo where all the gathered things are given to the people in need.
