thoughts on the twilight zone play
they really leaned into the whole tv thing
the curtain looked like an old television
the costumes and props were all black and white
the scene transitions were long, using imagery from the show’s opening credits while setpieces and actors moved on and offstage
the play uses the plot of several episodes (like 6 or so)
I was expecting the plots to be more intertwined, instead they played part of one, then part of another, and so on
with all the plays we saw this one didn’t feel nearly as grand, but it was fun

thoughts on avengers: endgame
we had free time on saturday so I went to see avengers
no I didn’t have a chance to see it before then, finals week and work and preparing for this trip kept me busy, yes I know I’m the only person in the world who didn’t see this movie the minute it came out
while not part of the trip, it was part of my trip, so I’m talking about it
I went to a theater in Leicester Square (pronouced “Lester”) with a massive screen, it was really cool
I’ve been following the MCU since around the time the first Cap movie came out, so suffice to say I was really excited
5 YEARS LATER
I was not ready for that
this movie kind of had to do the impossible, and not only did so, but made it look fun
there’s definitely stuff I could complain about, but the movie was a joy that wrapped up a lot of major character arcs, acted as the finale to over 20 movies, had a fun plot, and left an interesting world for future movies to explore

thoughts on the comedy of errors
the performers were a touring group, so they were both the actors and did the music before and in the middle of the show
the costumes were really nice
I’ve seen a version of the play before, I liked this one more than the first
I expected to really hate standing, but it was fine
we were way closer to the stage than we ever could have been sitting
in this version one of the Antipholuses was still upset by the end of the story, and didn’t want to reconcile with the other
I think it made the other reunions a lot sweeter by contrast

thoughts on the play that goes wrong
…honestly, not really my cup of tea
I don’t know why, maybe it’s just that I was tired
it’s a play within a play so it has fun with the fourth wall
there’s a neat magic trick
a lot of other people really seemed to enjoy it, so I’d totally reccomend it, it just wasn’t my thing
