If one is not over the age of 18, they can go to court to gain emancipated legal status.

When I started staying over… we wrote out a written agreement, of how we handle things. We update it, but it helps.

We… Vera does that, sometimes. But… usually she just clings. A lot. We always snuggle, always stay close. But, she holds me differently when she’s afraid. Tighter. Her body covers almost all of mine, trying to protect me. Or I’ll have her in my arms, but she curls up against my chest and Doesn’t let go.

…we had Sam’s nephews staying with us one night it got bad. AJ came in to ask for some water and accidentally work Vera up from a nightmare. She went for me because I was closest, and I didn’t want to fight her… I never have. She… when that happens, she wants me to sedate her. That was the first… and only… time that had to happen… AJ thought it was a dream, thank god. We did get Sam to chat with him, though.

Vera’s are in the nightstand. She refused to let me sleep within twenty feet of her until she taught me how to disable her in six different ways, now. But… I wake up to her protecting as much of me as she can a lot. Or to have her clinging with me as a lifeline. There’s nothing I can do to help, and I hate that. Quick note for Vera: widow brain is her tactical brain. It does a lot of that, but she will speak English(somehwhat) and adhere to basic needs, but beyond that she is laser-focused. Like why telling Peggy was an afterthought. Widow Mode is what you’re describing — at least that’s how she and I differentiate it. Basically, if it’s a mode she’s mostly a robot, if it’s a brain she is much more… it hard to describe. She focuses on analysis and reaction, often goes monotone, and eats once ever twelve hours like clockwork if I don’t remind her
