The fires in Siberia have burned down over 2 million acres of the forest and we need your help

I live in Yakutia, Russia, where most of the fires are taking place and I'm trying to raise awareness about the situation worldwide so we can get some external help.

Neither our federal nor local government is doing anything to put these fires out. They lie and say the situation is under control, when it certainly isn't.

Take a look at the current AQI of the city! We have been the most air polluted place in the WORLD for a few days now and the AQI used to be closer to 1300. It's still extremely dangerous to even open the windows or go outside.

This is a map of all the fire hotspots. Our nature, our life is burning alive.

Yakutia is the homeland of many Indigenous peoples and we are all suffering right now. The Russian government doesn't care about us, they only care about the money they can earn from mining our diamonds and precious metals but can't take care of our generous land. The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) has always prided itself on its nature and wildlife, since we were kids we've all been taught to preserve it and take care of it. Who are we without it?

The president now can have the country celebrate the anniversary of the military coup.

We've been breaking records of deaths and infections every day since February. We're at ~2,700 deaths/day. The lines for IC vacancies in hospitals reach 200 people in some states.

As of today, March 17, 5,02% of the population has received the first vaccine. Less than 2% had received both.

We don't have vaccines. Our labs can't produce enough for the country because they depend on material coming from China, and our government has managed to wreck relations with them. Same government didn't secure vaccines when the entire world was, so we don't have reserves.

The population goes outside and does parties and goes to the beach and many still believe the president.

Inflation is at the highest point ever since the huge crisis.we had in the 1990s. Food, energy, and other basic goods are skyrocketing.

Emergency handouts? The government grudgingly gave some last year. Not anymore. People are starving.

We can't go outside and protest. I mean, perhaps we could... If the pandemic weren't completely off the rails and our government cared. But they're militaristic and fa//scist, and they won't hesitate to use live rounds, and arrest all black and brown people, and beat the fuck out of all white and asian people.

Not to mention the amount of deaths, including mass murders, by the police towards black poor people have risen during the pandemic.

The US has 'suggested" to Brazil to not buy Sputnik last year. All after buying most of the stock of vaccines in the world, that is.

Guys, I know we're all sad and fucked. But our country wants to kill us, and we're weakened to fight the government and their dogs. The ones who are safer, like me, have their mental health wrecked.

US: we're right here. We're neighbors. Other Latin American countries are in dire straits too. Have some curiosity and tune your social media to check news about us, if only to have some perspective how no, things are NOT getting better. They're not.

I'm tired that we are struggling alone, when rich countries seem to have forgotten about it as they have their vaccines now.

hey guys so it has come to my attention that Damirae week is coming up! From what I understand it’s gonna be the Week of May 5th ? This year it will be run by @whereflowersbloom and @ravenfan1242. The official page is still in the works, but until then we do need prompt submissions so those who want to participate know what to be inspired by.
