My picturebook with illustrator Daniel Rieley, The Tale of a Toothbrush, features in the new exhibition at The Story Museum ‘Brilli-ANT!’  about how small creatures can make a big difference.

It was selected by a mix of young story curators, climate advisors & the museum team, as a story tackling ideas for climate action.

Sabotage on the Solar Express is the fifth instalment in the Adventures on Trains series by M.G. Leonard and Sam Sedgman. Train enthusiast, August Reza, has invited Hal and Uncle Nat to travel on the Solar Express’ maiden voyage. The Solar Express is different to the trains they have travelled on before, it’s powered by hydrogen and solar power. During the journey between Alice Springs and Darwin, it becomes apparent that someone is trying to sabotage the train.

This sculpture is one of my most prized possessions. The pedestal is a rare piece of ebony. The dung ball was turned by my father-in-law John Sparling - a renowned wood turner of Gloucestershire. He made me this piece as a gift for the launch of #BeetleBoy. The silver dung beetle was cast in his brother’s workshop. When the sun hits it in the morning it sets my work ethic for the day. For a story is rather like a dung ball, gathered from the waste of a greater animal, out of which hatches new life.
