Animation Techniques
Over the years of artistic practice, I have formed a certain habit of painting or thinking, but I hope to break these habits and rediscover the possibility of colors, shapes, textures, characters, movements, and performances. I will try to experiment and think more about these directions. I might try it illogically, or I might test it with scientific theories. I might just focus on superficial, intuitive visuals, or I might dig deeper into something inside me. I keep looking because I know that when I try to find something, something will come up, even if it's not what I expected.
The tests are all tagged as #experiment

Character Animation
I made this video as an attempt to animate based on my illustrations.
I found several problems:
For the details of illustrations, I must make trade-offs when making animations, because if I want to retain various colors, details, and textures, it will take a lot of time to draw an animation.
For this rotating animation, I drew 29 frames according to the time calculation, but after making it, I found that such a movement does not need so many frames to obtain the same effect. Animation production requires more experience with time in order to better judge and control it.
Lack of design in animation

Drawing
I am trying to break my original painting habit, looking for some shapes and possibilities that I have never obtained when I observe people The first and second sketches are random drawings of people walking and drinking coffee in cafes in Genk. I tried not to think too much, I tried to draw with my left hand, and I tried to only draw the outlines.
The third picture was painted in two different moments, and you can see the contrast between the restrained and relaxed brushstrokes.
In the last one, I tried to use watercolors to paint large blocks of color, and then go deeper into the sculpting, this method makes me focus on the outer contours first.

AR
Kaja Renkas’s workshop
In 2019, I tried AR for the first time, but it was not good enough probably because of technical reasons. It could not naturally change from static to dynamic, or from 2D to 3D. But in this workshop, I found that Eyejack is a very convenient and effective tool for making AR, as well as Adobe's Aero.
This made me want to try more creations with AR in the future.

Kaii Higashiyama
Kaii Higashiyama
Kaii Higashiyama is the most influential painter in Japan and an artist who has painted landscapes all his life. He traveled all over the famous mountains of Dachuan all his life, and painted alone all year round in the inaccessible plateaus, jungles, and seasides, observing the subtle changes of grass, trees, flowers, leaves, and streams in the four seasons, skillfully combining the appearance of the scenery with the light and color, and recreating nature. simplicity and harmony.
My admiration for natural scenery makes me think about how to incorporate them into my works. I thought just the scenery doesn't seem to be enough. But actually, many artists focus on only scenery.
The reason I am drawn to Kaii's work is that his colors, calm greens, dreamy blues, express the life and power of nature.
"The scenery I paint is a symbol of people's hearts. I express people's inner world through the natural scenery itself."
When looking at the same great landscape, what the artists filter out is not only what they see visually, but also the atmosphere where all the senses come together. Kaii fully demonstrates this in his paintings

3D printed zoetrope
Completion time: 3 days Date: 11.3 Workshop: Guido Devadder
A zoetrope is basically a cylindrical variation of the phénakisticope. Zoetrope or phénakisticope gives an absurd and interesting feeling, smooth movement between elements, a trope can express a concept or story. With realistic materials and 3D printing, the effect of the finished product is unexpectedly good.
In the process of making 3D models, the interesting thing is that we have no clear concept of what we are making, and we are not sure about its final effect, but there are always new surprises. For example, when we were lighting our model, we found that our model obtained very interesting graphics under different lighting conditions. We recorded the model as it looked in the software and got a video with humorous background music. We loved the video and it became part of the exhibition afterward. In this workshop, we also tried how to better exhibit our work, and combine our model and video with the space, so that the audience can understand our work faster.

Angello Torres’s packaging design incorporates colours and shapes from the “spirit world”
Drawing psychedelic colour schemes and hazy shapes from this “portal”, the designer sought to transform the act of tea-drinking into “ritual from beginning to end”.

There is one principle that has governed their creative process – never ceasing to experiment.
“Improvisation and intuition are therefore fundamental elements that keep the process alive.”

Green Genk
Trying to use my way to record views what I see, things that I experience, and people I meet in Genk
The biggest impression of Genk now is green, comfortable green
How do I record my experience?
Convey views of what I see, things that I experience, and people I meet using my way.
Living in a place, immersing in here, I can feel the unique atmosphere of the area.
Although the temperament of life here is abstract, it does exist in the air. I can smell, listen, see, and feel it.The feeling combine with my personality and my preferences.
Contrastive Thinking with Chinese Cities. My hometown, Ningde, a coastal city in southeastern China, is nearly 20 times bigger than Genk. In recent years, the city government has been committed to urban construction and has built many new parks and cultural buildings. But they still lack aesthetics and a design concept that better integrates with the natural environment. Why? Which part went wrong?  Is it because the decision-makers do not trust professional designers enough and intervene too much? Or is it because of the lack of aesthetics of local designers (most domestic outstanding designers are in big cities?), or fast-paced construction ways lead to the result of no deep thinking about a project?
