I just found your page and you have great things, but I tried to enter your blog and I get a sales page... Am I wrong about something or are you no longer active?

So... while I was neglecting sim stuff, I forgot to renew the domain so somebody else got it, lol. You still can access everything on the blog tho at mellindi.wordpress.com.

Any post of mine floating around here can still be accessed, you just need to change "mellindi.com" in the url to "mellindi.wordpress.com".

Would be changed to:

I’m sorry to bother you while you’re on hiatus. I’ve tried lookin everywhere but I cannot for the life of me find your mcc settings for pregnancy and ages. If you’re able to can you help me? Thank you in advance!

You're no bother anon :) And I can't seem to find them either but fortunately, I made this page on my long-forgotten gameplay blog that lists everything. My settings are slightly different now and as follows (copied from my MCCC settings doc):

"Adult": 60, "Baby": 0, "Child": 20, "Elder": 50, "Teen": 16, "Toddler": 18, "YoungAdult": 65

Idk why baby is set to 0, it was 2 before I updated this morning so idk what's going on there. Pregnancies are still set to 6 days.

Going on Hiatus

Since I popped in for a minute today, imma go ahead and let y’all know I’m going on hiatus for a while. Life’s busy and I’m not really feeling the sims (and all things sims related, lol) so imma just log out for a while and focus on other things. I’m sure my motivation/interest will come back one day, it always does, eventually, but that day is not today. Be safe and have fun! ♥

Hey India! It’s nice to see a familiar face around here, I’m hoping to return to the sims community in a couple of months!

Just a question about stories. I have this story idea, the characters are fleshed out and I have a few of the plots written out. Although I’m having some trouble with actually starting the first few scenes. I am unsure of how to introduce my story to readers and how to build up the momentum to the plots I have in mind.

Do you have any advice on how to begin writing the first couple of scenes to set up the story? & also how you approach this?

Heeeeeey! It sounds like you may have been on a much-needed break, if so, good for you! So I'd say with sim stories specifically, just based on my own observation, people usually care about the stories of sims they care about. Like when we read legacies and we watch a sim grow from childhood to adulthood and we feel all attached to them and invested in whatever happens in their lives. So I would start by introducing my sim (and you could choose how you want to do this). It could be something like a full-blown post telling us all about their background, traits, and all that stuff, or it can be more subtle with us just tagging along with them as they go through the motions of life allowing us to fall into their world. Every story I've posted on here have all been by accident lol— actually, that's not true. I have made a few intentional attempts, but with all of those, I chose to go the simple introduction route. You can see one an example with my messy lawyer chick Mallory, and another with the first sim in my failed attempt at a rotational gameplay story, Maurice, aaaaaand another with Camilla's story that started out as random gameplay, but we know how that turned out. So yeah, decide what's best for your story anon, but I think some kind of introduction is what I would shoot for 😊.

social media has really warped our perception of creativity and hobbies. Stop doing things to post them. Just write. Just journal. Just sketch. Just read. Just annotate. Just sing. Just crochet. Just do the thing you’re going to do with the assumption no one will ever see or know you did it. Stop performing. Just enjoy it.

hey india! i am looking for a pretty specific mod but i wanted to know if it even exists and i figured you’d know. i want to know if that “chose your roommates mod” is only limited to adults, i really wanted to have a fun added gameplay feature where your “roommate” is living next door but has a family with kids and stuff! i don’t even know if this exists but i appreciate any help you can give. thank you!!!!

Hey anon! So with LittleMsSam’s roommate mod, you can choose anyone to be your roommate even kids and pets too! I like to use this when I want to play in custom apartment buildings or little subdivisions with families and stuff. I think this is what you’re looking for. If you’ve never tried it before and feel like you might need some pointers, I wrote a little guide on it a few years ago that I think you might find helpful. And you’re welcome! 💗

Would you share you save townies? They look so good!

Hey anon! You caught me at a good time so I went ahead and uploaded them for you, cc included. Some things to keep in mind before you download tho:

my game has not been updated since before werewolves so you might want to check on sliders and whatever else was broken with that patch

some of what they use may overlap so just check the "CAS CC" folders included in each household's zip file so you don't end up with a bunch of duplicates

there are a few more makeovers I did that weren't in the original post I made (cuz I ran out of room, but I'll put the pics here so you know what you're downloading, lol)

the households are set up the way they are in my game. Everyone else's is how they come (I believe) but MCCC married Raj and the cat lady so you'll find her in their household. I think she's pregnant too if I remember correctly, so don't be surprised about that, lol.

If you get a message saying you're missing stuff, it's probably wicked whims or mod related (like traits and preferences and stuff) so feel free to ignore it.
