If you're having this problem, make sure you have every package file that belongs to that set. I believe some of the textures are in a file separate from the individual windows, and if you delete that file, it will cause the question marks to appear on the objects! I've mistakenly done this in the past while trimming down some of my cc.

Hi ! Love your cc. It's amazing ! I've seen other messages stating they have the same problem as I do with the gorgeous Auntie Vera collection windows (glass texture with question marks) and that you hadn't found a way to fix it yet since it doesn't happen in your game. I was wondering : has there been a fix/solution since then ? :) Thanks in advance !

LUNAR PHASES CHALLENGE

My very first challenge and I'm excited? haha

When I was looking for occults challenge to play I found a lot of witches and vampire type of things, but I don't quite remember seeing a werewolf one.

These three occults are my favorites (unfortunately I kind of ignore the others because you know... meh, not as fun to play with them. But maybe one day I'll try to make a mermaid challenge)

Down here you're gonna find the rules and guidelines for each gen. You don't have to follow strictly the rules if you don't want to, I know it can be annoying sometimes. And also I made it short for those who prefer shorter challenges (like me).

I just hope you have fun!

Rules:

You must reside only in the occults’s worlds, but preferably in Moonwood Mill (You can always kick your family out and pretend you’re living in another place hehe)

Start as YA, any gender

You can use cheats if you want.

Heir must be a werewolf

Normal or Long Lifespan

You don’t have to max all these skills, but it would be nice if you at least worked on them all your sims lives

When I put ( / ) is because you can choose what you prefer or if you don’t have said pack you can choose the base game one.

Requirements: Werewolves, Snowy Scape, Get Together, Get To Work

GENERATION 1: Waxing Crescent

You grew up close to the Moonwood Collective, they are basically your family and you learned how to be a good sim and not hurt others. You prefer to lock yourself up than to behave like an animal in front of others. You always loved art/writing and your hobby is to play piano. You don’t like the spotlight because of your werewolf tendencies, so you chose a more “reclusive” career.

Traits: Proper/Snob, Bookworm, Good

Aspiration: The Emissary of the Collective

Skills: Charisma, Piano/Painting, Writing

Career: Painter or Writer (It can be the freelance career if you prefer)

Volunteer with family (or alone) at least once a week

Your partner can be any gender, can be human or even another type of occult, as long as the heir is a werewof.

Get married to your partner and never divorce. You two were made for each other

GENERATION 2: Waning Gibbous

Your parents wanted you to be as perfect as they are, but you’re not them. You have your own personality and your own desires. You’re a rebel. You love being a werewolf and you feel powerful when you show others who you are. The only thing you got from your parent was the love for music, but you are more of a guitar type of sim. And you want to be the leader of your own pack.

Traits: Mean, Active, Kleptomaniac

Aspiration: Wildfang Renegade

Skills: Mischief, Fitness, Guitar

Career: Criminal or perform only odd jobs and have a part time job

Meet your friends at the bar every weekend

Have a “fight club” club

Get pregnant/get your girlfriend pregnant as a teen (if your sim is a boy: don’t assume the responsability / if your sim is a girl: give the baby to someone else. you can keep the child close to you if you want to play with them later, in case it’s a werewolf)

Get married as a Young Adult and divorce before become an Adult. You can find love again, but if you don’t, that’s okay. (preferably die alone :)

One day your sims is gonna teach their teen kid (the heir) how to fight. You’re take them to Greg and let them fight Greg… alone.

GENERATION 3: Full Moon

You never got along with your parent. You actually hate them. You prefer to be alone, you’re like a hurt puppy that attacks others who tries to come closer to you. But you’re very sweet on the inside. And finally one day you find the love of your life and you have a beautiful family together.

Traits: Loner, Gloomy, Hot-Headed

Aspiration: Lone Wolf

Skills: Gardening, Handiness, Fishing

Career: Gardner or Fisherman (and perform odd jobs)

If you chose gardner: go fishing every weekend, if you chose fisherman: have a garden

Live off the grid, at least until you get married (after that you can go back to society again if you want to. But it’s not mandatory)

Have at least two kids

GENERATION 4: New Moon

You grew up in a loving family. You have so many plans for your life, but you don’t want to be a werewolf forever. You spent your teenager years reading werewolf books and you got the Lunar Epiphany and learned how to make the cure. Maybe you’re the one who breaks the family’s curse, right? and you want to be a super parent because your own parent inspired you.

Traits: Genius, Family-Oriented, Loyal

Aspiration: Cure Seeker

Skills: Logic, Parenting, Baking/Gourmet Cooking

Career: Doctor/Astrounaut

Find love when you are already a human and be the best parent you can be!

Go out on dates at least once a week with your partner, and when you have a child go out at least once a week with your family.

Quick CC Fix

Have you ever had this issue before where two pieces of cc are showing up in the same CAS item?

The fix is super easy! You only need S4S for this.

The first step is to find one of the pieces of cc, copy it, and paste it into the Sims 4 Studio "Mods" folder which is generally located in Documents>Sims 4 Studio>Mods. You can see I have my piece of cc there:

Then, open Sims 4 Studio (only AFTER you've placed the cc in this folder). Select the "Override" underneath of CAS, and then click the CAS button.

On the next screen, change the "Content" dropdown to "Custom" and then click the first swatch of the cc, and then hold shift and click the last swatch so that you select every swatch of this item. Click "Next" once they're all highlighted.

You'll be prompted to save your .package file. Go ahead and save that wherever the original piece of cc is. I kept the original cc name and just added "mel fix" to the beginning so that I don't ever accidentally delete it during a cc cleanup or anything.

On this screen, just save and close because, that's it. You're done!

Please don't bother cc creators when this happens. They didn't do anything wrong (that I'm aware of). Some instance IDs (I believe that's the right term) just ended up being the same, through no fault of their own, and that's why a swatch from one piece of cc ended up as a swatch on another piece of cc. When you create this override you're essentially just assigning a brand new set of instance IDs to the piece of cc.

Important Notes: You only need to do this with ONE of the pieces of cc. Do NOT remove the .package file for the cc you create an override of or the cc won't appear at all. You need the original file and your override both in your mod folder for this to work.

If you have any questions, please let me know! And if any of the CC Creators that are more advanced know of an easier/better way to fix this, I'd love to learn, so please let me know!

RIP, CmarNYC

I’m very sad to report that Sims 3 and 4 creator CmarNYC passed away in October 2023. For 15 years, Simmers benefited from Cmar’s long-honed computing skills as she created much-loved modders’ and players’ tools, including the Sims 3 and 4 MorphMakers and Skininators, the TS4 SimRipper, the Sims 3 XCAS core mod, and many CAS sliders. She was also a contributor to S4PE, which likely was used by creators you rely on. Without Cmar’s work, the Sims franchise would have had a much less rich array of mods and custom content. She will be greatly missed.

As well as Sims, Cmar loved cats, and donations are suggested to the ASPCA, the TinyKittens Society, or an animal-related charity near you.

Generation Three Recap: Part 3 of 3

The moment Harleigh became a teenager, she turned into a drama queen outside of her home.

Harleigh had an eventful first prom.

Jayla and Cody were practically inseparable once they got together and finally Jayla got knocked up for the final baby born to this gen.

This time around was far less traumatic and far more loving.

With Jayla mostly distracted...taking care of the farm still, being pregnant, and always up Cody's butt...Harleigh had plenty of free time to be the dramatic teen queen of the century.

Luckily, her mom gave her the woohoo talk, just in time.

There was also a small wedding under the willow tree.

And thanks to the woohoo talk...

Jaxxon was the only baby to be born on the farm besides Harleigh.

Harleigh continued on in her ways all the way up to her YA birthday.

And right after the birthday party, she headed off to her new home...San Myshuno.

Generation Three Recap: Part 2

Jayla really broke the mold in Generation Three by only having two children! She simply wasn't made to handle as many kids as her foremothers were, and that's fine.....because where she lacked, Cody picked up and Henford still ended up just as overpopulated as all the other worlds.

Jayla had two kids. Harleigh and Jaxxon.

Cody had 16 kids. Maddison, Jazmine and Martin (twins), Annabeth, Cora, Kason, Lyndsey, Jabari, Katarina and Delilah (twins), Lawson, Betty, Kristina, Keenan, Jeffrey, and Jaxxon.

Friendly reminder that we're building two separate family trees at the same time and our two founders/heirs are never related. No, they didn't both have a kid and name it Jaxxon. That'd be silly. They eventually got together and had one child they named Jaxxon. Duh. We'll get there.

Gen 3 was far less dramatic after that initial mess. It was all about taking care of the farm and being self-sufficient. Jayla also made sure she gave her daughter all of the one-on-one time she had always wished she had gotten with her mom.

We also got our first pet of the legacy! A rottweiler named Chomps!

Cody was banging and slanging all throughout this time until I finally realized, "oh gawd I've created overpopulation again" and stopped letting ladies visit him. But, one night sometime after this, while he was comforting Jayla...who had been secretly having feelings for him for quite a while...one thing led to another and then he showed her why he was the daddiest daddy of all the legacy daddies so far.

Generation Three Recap: Part 1

Generation Three got off to an early start but, hey, that's to be expected in the early days of a new civilization. (And it has absolutely nothing to do with me getting sick of having 756 kids in the house.)

So our Gen 3 heir, Jayla, was feeling very neglected. Isolated despite constantly surrounded. Unloved even.

An unfortunate side effect of her mom's efforts to keep everyone at home, unlike her own mother. And one day, Jayla had enough and she set off to her new world, Henford.

There was a compound out there that she had heard of (new gen, new challenge, and reminder that I don't care about challenge rules). Unfortunately, she found it and it...wasn't great.

And she was greeted by...well, there's no other way to describe him...a predator and groomer.

He took her in. Took care of her. Gave all of his attention to her. Comforted her. She fell for it. (Don't worry, he gets what he deserves.)

Eventually, Jayla is just missing her mom too much.

So she goes home and there's a whole big reunion and during that, her mom being no stranger to being pregnant, recognizes all the signs and asks her. This leads to Jayla having a full on meltdown and telling her mom everything.

Shana comforts her, lays her down for a nap, and then immediately alerts Dane.

Dane comes over, she tells him everything, and he sets out to get a plan in motion. That night, she tells her husband everything and how she feels like she failed her daughter.

Dane's plan is carried out the very next day. Himself, his oldest son, and a family friend find the son-of-a-bitch, apprehend him, and feed him to the fish. This is now a dark dirty family secret only the three men really know the full truth about.

Jayla and Shana have a full recovery to their relationship and I got a pic of my first three gen girls together 🥰

Also, a whole thing developed on Twitter while I was live tweeting this legacy with people guessing whether or not the next gen kids would have red hair or not and most people rooting for the red hair supremacy to carry on.

Anyway, Jayla didn't want to return to life in a crowded little ranch house in Oasis Springs so she returned to Henford, this time with our other heir, Cody, and a whole lot of family support, and exactly ZERO creeps.

And we had our first pandasama birth of the legacy.

Genertion Two Recap

Generation Two "founders" were Shana and Dane and they set off to populate Oasis Springs. Shana decided to do things a bit differently than her mom and kept every single kid at home until they were old enough to move out AND made it a point to have everyone together for at least one meal a day (aka gen 1 was too easy so I decide to make things harder on myself).

Shana had a total of 7 kids. Jayla, Stefan, Kameron, Garrett, Dakota, Victor, and Carlie.

Dane had a total of 10 kids. Cody, Kyleigh, Nico and Sheldon (twins), Kian, Marielle, Brooklyn, Matthias, Nadine and Antoine (another set of twins).

Each generation has an unofficial "challenge" I impose upon myself to make things interesting. This generation, as mentioned earlier, was all about keeping the family together. (If you haven't picked up on the trend yet, I always focus on the matriarchy.) This meant Shana kept all of her kids home instead of just some of them, and there was a focus on family dinners.

Unfortunately, things did not work out with baby daddy number one, despite her best efforts and she eventually told him to get lost (he was a deadbeat anyway).

I almost always end up giving heirs a happy ending though so Dane did eventually move out and marry one of his baby mamas.

And Shana ended up marrying one of her baby daddies.

Unfortunately, not everyone was a big fan of all of the "togetherness."

And our gen 3 heir was left feeling invisible to her mom, and unloved, and super annoyed by all of the kids around her 24/7 and she ran away from home.

Gen 1/Founders Highlights

I was really trying to breeze through Gen 1 as quick as possible so I don't have a ton of pics from that era. Hell, some of them I didn't even have reshade for. But! I've got enough. My founders were Shelby Johnson and Joey Johnson.

They were so cute. And so in love. And both were committed to the cause. I also didn't want to immediately stress myself out with too many kids so only the girls born to Shelby got to live with Shelby and Joey. All other kids were sent to live with their other parent.

Shelby had five children. Shana, Sarah, Jeremy, Jonah, and Brandon. Joey had eight kids. Dane and Dom (twins), Jakob, Jonathan, Karla, Daniella, Chaz, and Brianna.

I originally thought I'd be clever and take a picture of each of them with a different background color that would correspond with their founder but, that didn't last very long.

Also, I did once attempt to get a picture of every single parent and child for Generation 1 but, I was new to poses and did not increase the number of sims allowed in a zone and they kept popping out of their poses and this is the closest I got before I abandoned all hope and gave up. lol

Genesis Legacy Challenge Masterpost

All things Genesis challenge will be posted here. I'm already 5 generations deep and I hate archiving stuff that's already done so, I'll have a main post for each generation so you can see who's who, see the family tree grow, and then you can follow in real time over on twitter until Elongated Muskrat finally makes that hell site implode.

Keep reading for more info on how I've been playing this challenge.

First of all, what is the Genesis Challenge? So you know in the bible how there was like...nothing? And then the Watcher was all, "let there be sims" and it was good? And then those Sims started multiplying? Ok so you start with a blank save. I used this one from @srslysims that you can find here. It has every lot bulldozed and all sims deleted. You create two founders. I used a female and a male. Then those two founders go off and make babies with the randomly generated townies. Then, your heirs (I used the first female baby from my female founder and the first male born to my male founder) and move them to another world, and repeat. Essentially filling up each world, one generation at a time, and always being able to trace your lineage back to one of your founders. You can find a more well written description of the challenge here.

Personally, I'm very bad at following challenge rules and sticking with them so I only had two rules, don't cheat money and always be able to trace my lineage back to an original founder. I turned off all story progression in my game, except aging, and...got a little too crazy with this challenge. I am responsible for every birth in this save file and I have documented every birth on family echo and you can view that family tree here. This is absolutely NOT required for this game and just me having too much free time on my hands and adding an additional layer of lore. The lore being, something happened and now only direct descendants are fertile so all children must be born to a direct descendant.

How did I do this? Well, again, an abundance of free time was a big factor but, I did use some tools and a schedule to aid in this quest. Number one, start tracking everything...immediately. I have a notebook where I was writing down every hookup and whether or not a baby came from them and then once there was a baby, they (baby and other parent) were added to the family tree. I, personally, am a big fan of Family Echo because I don't care about all the frills. I just want names, pictures, and relationships, and it covers all of that and is very easy to use. Bonus, it's free.

As far as the schedule goes, I would play my main founders for however long and then when I had some downtime while they were pregnant (I use MCCC and have pregnancy set to 7 days), I would go around to families that didn't have kids yet/weren't currently pregnant/hadn't had a kid too recently, and I would use WW and make them hookup (so that it used WW's fertility settings, therefore making babies less likely than vanilla "try for baby" and also, therefore, more random) and move on. That's it. They got one shot and they either did or did not get pregnant. If they did, I marked it down, came back after the baby was born to get their name and get them added to the tree. If they didn't, I waited until the next "cycle" and had them WW hookup again and left it up to fate as to when they did/didn't have kids.

All babies born in the game are created in a "traditional" sense but, no, not everyone on the tree is straight. I did not have the new science baby feature prior to Gen 5 so a sim would have to hookup with someone of the opposite sex to have a baby but, they did not then have to actually be in a relationship with that person. In other words, some direct descendants have been "sperm donors" or "egg donors/surrogates." Lumpinou's RPO mod does now have an actual donor aspect to it, plus we have the science babies now so, I may incorporate those instead going forward.

Also, probably the last thing to note, once a sim became a parent to one of my legacy babies, that's when I would move them to a lot in whatever world I was working on. For instance, male founder gets townie female pregnant. Male founder stayed on home lot, townie mom and baby would get moved to a nearby lot. This continues until the world is full. Heads up though, you can very quickly overpopulate your world. For Rent adding multi-unit possibilities for every world is actually what made me want to jump back into my Genesis Legacy because now I can have better population control. Housing crisis solved! lol

Anywho, this is the longest I've stuck with a legacy, it's been full of chaos, and has been a hell of a project. You can read the highlights of each completed generation here. Also, I count my founders as Gen 1. Sooooo:

"Chilling by the pool" Pose Pack

Happy holidays! I hope you've all had plenty of food and your favorite desserts. I'm so full of homemade oreo cream pie that I'm not sure I'll be able to move at full speed again until January.

Today I'm releasing my second pose pack! This pack is all about lounging by the pool and has 10 poses. Chilling, having a drink, reading a magazine, and reading a book (as well as falling asleep with the book) are all included.

Drink poses require the Juice Cup by @mel-bennett, specifically the file named [MB] Juice Cup ACC STIGMATA which you need to download here. In CAS, you can find it in the bracelet section.

Book poses require the opened book, also by mel-bennett, which you can download here. In CAS, you need the left hand variation which is found in the hat section.

The magazine poses require a magazine prop by @surely-sims that I have included for you. Thank you to surelysims for letting me include it! In CAS, you can find it under right hand ring finger rings. I've added a chromakey green swatch for photoshopping things onto it.

"Get the fuck out of my bar" Pose Pack

Hellooooo! I made my first ever pose pack and wanted to share it here. This pose pack consists of 7 storytelling poses. The Simonov SKS Rifle by Viktor Violetta Enterprise is required for two of the poses. I did test the poses with the Remington M870 Shotgun by the same creator and there's only some slight clipping in one pose so there is some flexibility to use other long guns (example below).

One other thing to note, depending on which bar you use, the sim's hand will clip through the shelf in pose 4. With the variety of bars, I just had to pick a good angle that still looks correct enough that you can just photograph it from the correct angle and no one will know. On to the previews!

All poses do include a preview image and description in game. Can be used with WW or Pose Player. If you use the teleporter, it needs to be placed in the center of the bar. If you use these, please tag me! I'd love to see them!
