If the desire of the love of Christ has not become so powerful within you as to render you dispassionate toward every affliction because of your joy in Him, then know that the world is more alive in you than Christ. When illness, and want, and bodily exhaustion, and fear of bodily harm perturb your mind so as to sway it from the joy of your hope and from your unsullied care to please the Lord, then know that the flesh and not Christ lives within you. To speak simply, that which you love and which has mastery within you, this it is that lives in you. If you suffer no lack in anything you need, your body is healthy and no adversaries threaten you, and yet you say that you can advance toward Christ in limpid purity, then know that your mind is sick and you are bereft of the taste of God’s glory. I pass judgment upon you not because you are such a man, but rather so that you might know how far you are from perfection, even though you may attain in part by your way of life to the measure of the holy Fathers who have gone before us.
St. Isaac the Syrian

When you’re in a season of waiting, it’s never just a season of waiting. It’s a season of preparation, self-improvement, giving, and, as always, sanctification.
Waiting is not passive. It’s active. Be prepared for what you are praying for. You might not know when, but when He speaks, it happens fast. Be ready for it.

“Don’t attach yourself to anyone who shows you the least bit of attention because you’re lonely. Loneliness is the human condition. No one is ever going to fill that space. The best you can do is know yourself… know what you want.”

“Have patience with all things - but first with yourself. Never confuse your mistakes with your value as a human being. You are perfectly valuable, creative, worthwhile person simply because you exist. And no amount of triumphs or tribulations can ever change that.“”
— St. Francis de Sales

Happy Feast Day
Saint Louise de Marillac
1591-1660
Feast day: March 15
Patronage: disappointing children, loss of parents, people rejected by religious orders, sick people, social workers, widows
St. Louise de Marillac had not one, but two saints as counselors, St. Francis de Sales and St. Vincent de Paul. Her life’s work of caring for the sick, poor and the neglected was guided by St. Vincent. She helped direct the “Ladies of Charity” which eventually became the Daughters of Charity. In 1634, St. Louise took her vows and spread the work in France, which is now all over the world. She was canonized in 1934.

St. Augustine's Prayer to the Holy Spirit
Breathe in me, O Holy Spirit, that my thoughts may all be holy.
Act in me, O Holy Spirit, that my work, too, may be holy.
Draw my heart, O Holy Spirit, that I love but what is holy.
Strengthen me, O Holy Spirit, to defend all that is holy.
Guard me, then, O Holy Spirit, that I always may be holy. Amen.
