A day in the life of a Dark Academia student:

wakes up with classical music or the sound of birds as alarm

drinks a cup of coffee, loving its warmth in contrast with the cold of the room, and reads a book

Gets dressed with wool check trousers, a white shirt, and a dark oversized dark blue sweater

Grabs books for lessons, a notebook to write thoughts and puts on a long blue coat

Goes to university, enjoying its old buildings

Pays attention to lessons and falls in love with the poems analyzed

Has lunch with other students in a cute cafe, discussing theories and perceptions

Goes to the library to study Literature and History and borrows some books

Comes back home, puts on some classical music, reads a bit and has a shower

In the evening goes to a Museum date and ends up in a stranger’s old apartment, drunk with other intellectuals, reading their own poems and showing their sketches of the day

academia but i’m at my 9-5 job

spending my lunch break speed reading

rotating through my collection of trousers, sweaters, and button ups

constantly brewing coffee

researching each task extensively in my spare time, just because i’m curious

bringing my own pen from home because it’s obviously the only right pen

running from demons

some dark academia things i’ve caught myself doing lately

falling asleep to period dramas

thinking about how to derail things. just generally.

stuffing a 2nd hand book into my purse knowing i won’t even have time to read it

wearing a trench coat even when it’s too hot to wear one

reusing the same teacup over and over and over because it’s my favorite

reorganizing my bookshelf from alphabetical to by genre back to alphabetical

brooding for no reason at all.
