Visualization of the pathway connecting random stars of our galaxy from HYG stellar database (Hipparcos catalog + Yale Bright Star catalog + Gliese catalog). 

The route connects totally different stars and gives a chance to compare their properties. Random selection of a new point creates three dimensional form, connecting them with lines. This is a figurative representation of our knowledge, which is not always consciously analyzing the data, but finds the special properties of the world, finds an opportunity to look at the course of nature from another point of view.

Open air light artwork on Lighthouse / Mayak by Nikolay Polissky in Nikola-Lenivets park. Irregular lights mounted on top of 35 meters high construction.

Beside algorithmic light and sound patterns, installation transmits Morse encoded messages, which contain selected star's names and other parameters, taken from HYG stellar database.

Presented at New Media Night 2014 A message can be decoded with mobile apps: Morse Talk, Morse Master, Instamorse.

Video report from "New Media Night" festival which was held in Nikola-Lenivets in the Kaluga Region, Russia. 

Among the beautiful Nikola-Lenivets landscape, architectural objects and some media art installations from various digital artists also some of our real-time graphics via vvvv may be seen in "Universe Mind" object mapping which was used as a part of supporting visuals for festival musical headliners Emptyset and Ulrich Schnauss.

We were really happy to be there and take part in the festival. Many thanks to organizators for that opportunity. We recommend you to visit Nikola-Lenivets not only at "New Media Night" festival next year but anytime you decide to go since it is really remarkable place and atmosphere.

On 5 July 2014, Nikola Lenivets Art Park hosted the Night of New Media, one of the biggest festivals of digital art and music in Russia. At the festival, FutureEverything and British Council Russia presented two large scale installations. Digital artists Kimchi and Chips (Elliott Woods and Mimi Son) showed their new work commissioned by FutureEverything, Light Barrier, and the winning Russian team from the Culture Shift Russia: Digital Emulsion workshop created a new light show entitled 'HIDDEN'.
