Rewatching the Nagisa event, and something that struck me is that Yuu's list of bad guys (we now know who writes the list-- it's Xii/Shii) isn't "wrong." As in, it'd be easy to make it so that Yuu was killing a list of bad people who weren't actually bad at all, but just put down there for the interest of the writer. Like, "kill this person because I don't like them" (and then lie to Yuu that the person is bad).
But the people that we see Yuu go after are Nagisa's mother (who is abusing her) and Sho, who is abusing Inui. It's possible that there are other people on the list that aren't bad, but for now those are the two prominent examples that we see.
What makes it interesting though is that the two victims of those bad guys don't want them to die. In fact, both of the victims' lives get worse once their respective person dies. Both girls (Inui and Nagisa) turn into witches right after.
I just thought that was pretty interesting. Obviously we know very little about Shii/Xii at the moment, so it's unclear if this list is to only punish bad people or if it's purpose is to try and help the victims. If it's just punishing the "bad guys" then it's doing it's job I guess-- but if it's to help the victims, it's made everything so much worse for them.
I really like that. It's easy to get caught up in outrage and punishment and to avoid actually helping people, even if that's the emotion you initially start out with. I don't know why humanity is this way, but we tend to prefer hurting "the bad guy" over helping the victim.
That's not to say that bad people don't deserve punishment, but that if you're doing something with the intention to help someone, you should lead with that instead. Helping people isn't easy, especially when they don't know they need it or don't want that help right away-- but it's what we should all strive for, unless we become just another monster whose foot steps on them.

psa to all women:
i just found this super cool reusable menstrual pad that will save us thousands of bucks
Tumblr media
apparently an average woman spends about $120/year on pads and tampons and an additional $20/year on medications for cramps and other period side effects. since we menstruate for approximately 40 years, we spend (40 times 140) =  $5,600 for our period over our lifetime.
IMAGINE WHAT YOU CAN BUY FOR $5,600?!?!
which is why i turned to menstrual pads. eco-friendly, economical and healthy
also, im saying goodbye to everyone in the public bathroom knowing im on my period
i got the pads here and they have all the info on their website!
also check out other eco-friendly products with their info here!

PSA: Don't use Open Office
I keep seeing people recommending Open Office as an alternative to Word, and uh... look, it is, technically, an open source alternative to Word. And it can do a lot of what Word can, genuinely! But it is also an abandoned project that hasn't been updated in nine years, and there's an active fork of it which is still receiving updates, and that fork is called LibreOffice, and it's fantastic.
Seriously, if you think that your choices are either "grit your teeth and pay Microsoft for a subscription" or "support free software but have a kind of subpar office suite experience", I guarantee that it's because you're working with outdated information, or outdated software. Most people I know who have used the latest version of LibreOffice prefer it to Word. I even know a handful of people who prefer it to Scrivener.
Open Office was the original project, and so it has the most name recognition, and as far as I can tell, that's really the only reason people are still recommending it. It's kind of like if people were saying "hey, the iPhone 14 isn't your only smart phone option!" but then were only ever recommending the Samsung Galaxy S5 as an alternative. LibreOffice is literally a version of the same exact program as Open Office that's just newer and better – please don't get locked into using a worse tool just because the updated version of the program has a different name!

As someone with BPD, I'd just like to try to clear some things up.
People with BPD do/are:
DO have trouble regulating their emotions and their impulses
DO struggle with healthy relationships and attachments to others
DO have an intense fear of abandonment and will do whatever it takes to avoid being abandoned
DO have an unstable sense of self and their identity
DO suffer from chronic self-harming and/or suicidal behaviours
DO experience feelings of emptiness or hollowness
DO have erratic moods and emotions that can change drastically from moment to moment
DO frequently engage in impulsive behaviours
ARE able to feel real love towards other people
ARE able to be treated
ARE able to live happy, well-rounded lives
ARE able to form healthy relationships
DO deserve respect
DO deserve support
DO deserve love
People with BPD do/are not:
DO NOT act the way they do for attention (the self-destructive behaviours people with BPD sometimes engage in stems from a need to cope with our emotions and thoughts, not out of attention-seeking)
ARE NOT intentionally or maliciously manipulative (manipulative behaviour is pre-planned and intentional. People with BPD engage in their behaviours as a reaction to their intense emotions. While we may act in ways that attempt to control how others behave, we are typically doing so to try to ease or prevent our own emotional pain, not to hurt others.)
ARE NOT dangerous or violent (people with BPD are much more likely to hurt themselves than others)
HAVE NOT all experienced childhood trauma (many people with BPD have experienced childhood trauma, but many have not. Childhood trauma is a risk factor, not a cause.)
ARE NOT all AFAB (while a larger percentage of those diagnosed with BPD are assigned female at birth, many of those who are assigned male at birth also suffer from BPD, and some evidence shows that it may be more equally distributed among both sexes)
ARE NOT untreatable (there are lots of treatment options available! DBT is the most common, but there are many other options as well.)
ARE NOT all abusers (abuse is not linked to any one mental illness. People with BPD may struggle to form healthy relationships and this can lead to abusive dynamics, however ANYONE can be abusive regardless of their mental health.)
ARE NOT all the same (BPD is a spectrum and it affects all of us a little bit differently. Not everyone is going to experience it exactly the same as someone else, and it's important to recognize that we're all individuals.)
ARE NOT rare (BPD is actually pretty common. It's estimated that around 1-2% of the population are diagnosed BPD. That's around 156,000,000 people, and that's not even counting those who are undiagnosed.)
ARE NOT horrible, unfeeling monsters (we are literally just people)
ARE NOT unworthy of love (EVERYONE is worthy and deserving of love)

i love you polyamorous relationships, open relationships, friends with benefits/friends that have sex with each other, queerplatonic relationships, friendships that have some weird queer element to it, relationship anarchy, staying single and i love anything that doesn't match what society considers "normal"
