In all fairness, the "Fair Tax" as described by Neil Bortz in his book, would be the greatest thing to ever happen to America. 23% national sales tax? YES, but ELIMINATE the IRS ALTOGETHER!

No agents, No Auditors. No Need. EVERYBODY pays taxes, but only on brand new products. New Car? Taxed. Used car? No tax.

Who is everybody? Illegal (criminal)Aliens, Drug Dealers, Organized Crime Bosses, Politicians, Prostitutes. visiting foreigners. EVERYBODY

Why is it called FAIR? No one HAS to file taxes and report to the government what you earned, but if you choose to, you can file an income form to be reimbursed for taxes paid, if your income is below determined levels.

New Home? Taxed. Used NO FEDERAL TAXES

No Capital gains taxes, no social security taxes, no medicare, NO CORPORATE TAXES

ALL FEDERAL TAXES ELIMINATED

No Corporate taxes? Really?! YES!!! Companies don't have a big pile of money sitting over there designated "Taxes" Companies have cash flow. Raise taxes, they raise prices. BIG SECRET Companies don't pay taxes. Consumers do in the form of higher prices!!

23% Sales tax? Yes, But corporate tax rates are 39%. EVERYBODY (remember) would pay 23% on LOWER PRICED GOODS AND SERVICES.

Think about how competitive American Goods would become overseas if we dropped (costs) prices by 40%!!
