“…This time around, we really wanted to make a collection of songs that speak to the times we live in, in a modern album, and not just rehash our own past. It really is a new beginning. And for us, it’s like we’re a whole new band. So it’s very fun and exciting to have arrived at our sixth album this way.”
“…my brother grew a lot as a producer and really played an important role, pushing the feel, production and sound of the album into new territory. He’s always listened to all kinds of music and that diversity in our rhythm that you were talking about really came in handy when we made this album. He really continued to do incredibly exciting things as a producer. It was great to see.”
“ I discovered new things about my voice. I sang in a way that I didn’t know before. And I think it was the result of exploring new territories, working with new rhythms and new structures. It pushed my voice to new places, and it was awesome. It’s an exciting thing to discover after singing for so long for so many years, so I’m really happy about it. “
“…When you make music, you want it to affect and ‘infect’ people and have a really visceral, guttural experience of it.”
“…I also think the most important opinion to me is probably my own. I have to listen to that inner voice…but I’m often wrong, especially when I’m creative. You know, most of the time being wrong is the best answer. It’s the only way to find the next best step forward.”
“…I think there’s a certain amount of stuff going on in our lives. We are all made up of fractions of ourselves which themselves have had experiences which were not necessarily positive. And those lessons that you might hear in a negative voice in your head can prevent you from realizing yourself, from aiming higher and stronger. It can sometimes keep us from leaving our house or even saying yes to an opportunity… it can hold us back.”
“We never thought we’d release a first album, so finishing the sixth is insane. We are filled with gratitude and hope for the future and the new concert dates…”
