It seems I do a lot more of these posts rather than sitting down and writing to those I owe. :/
2018 ended roughly for me health-wise. I was sick with to a common cold thanks to being around sick people at work, but everything seemed to work well to get it out of my system. I didn’t miss much work and got back right into the swing of things, but I got sick again just a few weeks ago and have been sick since. Being sick on and off for a month puts on so much stress on you.
I’ve struggled with my muse on my blogs before. I’ve put myself on a short absence several times to get the muses back and take a break… but this illness is really making me struggle to want to get on here and focus. It’s really making me rethink everything, that I’m taking on so much at once when I seem to be holding onto this illness for far too long.
I AM NOT leaving Tumblr but I just wanted to update people I’m still writing and talking to of my absence. I do miss writing so much. I will sometimes get these random boosts of muse only to have them fade. I’m not healthy enough to come back yet. I’m hoping to feel like myself within the next week, but even then I’m not sure because this illness I’ve had for over a week is fighting to stay.
Please continue to be patient with me. I lurk through the app and on Discord occasionally, so I can be reached anywhere should anyone want to talk. I’m beginning to feel more like myself at the moment, so here’s to hoping over the coming days I can get my strength back. <33

” THEN YOUR FEELINGS DO YOU CREDIT.”    even out here, with the doors to the house and therefore the party closed, darcy swore that he could still hear the SQUEALING of miss bennet’s younger sister’s.   a grating noise that wound him and showed her family’s impropriety to no end.   yet he could not say the same for the woman besides him nor her eldest sister.   even if miss elizabeth had been unprecedentedly prejudice towards him and others upon first meeting he was pleased to note that their conversation now was at least civil, if not friendly.
“  after what happened at netherfield before myself and bingley arrived here i believe i am not wrong in providing a high risk status to social events such as balls. ”        and the blame for that lay at his feet,  darcy accepted that fully and it also weighed heavily on him.    what a PROUD MAN he was.  but it was his fault, he should have insisted but he hadn’t thought that they were foolish enough to lie to him.   he would not make the same mistake again.
a smile quirked at his lips at her words as she looked over at him, taking a few steps forward to be level with her as his eyes gazed out across the darkened landscape before them.    ears straining for any sort of noise that might suggest an unmentionable hoard was nearby.
she worried about him,     or at least gave a good pretense of worrying about him.      “ then the theoretical unmentionables would meet an untimely end. ”   such was his pride that he did not doubt for one moment his skills.       his mouth opened for a moment,   pausing as if he wasn’t sure if he was even going to speak the words that were on the tip of his tongue.    OPENING HIMSELF UP was never something he was good at….
“ truth be told i find it all rather tiresome…    i would much rather spend my time in a small group of those i am in close acquaintance with than a large group of those i know only by name or association. ”
Tumblr media
“No, not at all.” Elizabeth gave him a comforting smile at that. If she made a similar mistake in own life, Elizabeth could only assume she would be just as cautious like Mr. Darcy was being now. However, it was an innocent mistake, one that anyone would make if they were in the same situation. Elizabeth couldn't possibly put the blame on him for that. It did, however, take some time for the young woman to feel that way. She had such a dislike for Mr. Darcy until she took Jane's advice to actually get to know him. For if it were not for Jane's advice, Elizabeth would have held onto her assumptions of Fitzwilliam Darcy.
"You seem rather sure of yourself. " Elizabeth couldn't help but laugh as she shook her head, looking over her shoulder to make sure the undead didn't somehow learn to climb a stone wall and surprise them. She was always one to be cautious of her surroundings when with one other person instead of being in a large crowd. She never wanted to let her guard down and provide the undead with an upper hand. It was the one thing she would always hold dear from her training at the Shaolin Temple. "Even an excellent warrior such as yourself can fall prey to the undead." She never wished for that to come across so bluntly as it did, which was why Elizabeth cursed quietly at herself for even saying speaking such a thing.
"What I meant was that you should not put yourself in such a situation. It only takes one bite or scratch to become one of those dreadful things."
She nodded to that comment as turned to face him and make herself more comfortable, enjoying the night air and his company. "We have only known each other for a few weeks and you don't seem like you dislike my company. Or are you just being kind to me?"

When I think of a real princess, I always think of Eleanor. Because a real princess doesn’t need fancy dresses or jewels, and she definitely doesn’t need to be rescued. And that’s what Eleanor is - she’s a real princess. Because she does what she wants. And she’s always true to herself, despite what anybody else thinks.  And that’s why people love her.

The right man would never have Elizabeth relinquish her sword for a ring. She found that in Fitzwilliam Darcy and had never been happier. Her father was always encouraging of Elizabeth and the rest of his daughters learning the art of war to keep themselves and others safe. He changed along with the world and never lived in denial much like her mother. Mrs. Bennet never changed for she still made it her mission to find men to marry her daughters.
Had people told Elizabeth she would one day fall in love and get married, the young girl would have laughed and slit their throat. When Fitzwilliam entered the room the night at the ball, Elizabeth couldn’t help but look at him a feel a great deal of mystery.
At first he came across rude and yet in time she soon learned that it was his way of not being comfortable in unfamiliar places... probably, but his father and her own got along extremely well. It was almost like watching two young men talk for how much they had in common and the amount of things to discuss. Elizabeth came to respect Mr. Darcy’s father and it eventually brought her and Fitzwilliam closer.
In a span of only a few weeks, Elizabeth found herself courting the man she had fallen in love with. He was always with her, surprised her with visits to Longbourn... The topic of marriage had yet to come up when she received word of the death of Mr. Darcy, which lead to her missing the funeral and being there for her beloved Fitzwilliam.
Immediately Elizabeth road out to see him while taking care of some unmentionables along the way. She was given directions on where to find Darcy upon arriving. It pained her seeing Darcy so heartbroken that Elizabeth pulled him into a tight embrace.
“Oh, darling.” She had been crying herself for Elizabeth loved the late Mr. Darcy like a father. “I’m so very sorry for not being here for you. I never got the telegram and it came just this morning.” Elizabeth’s gripe tightened around him, feeling just how broken he was from the loss. “I’m here for you now. There’s no need to conceal your emotions from me.”

HE FELT LIKE A SHELL OF A MAN.    a single blink and hours past.  a mask of pretense to reassure georgiana that everything would be fine.  it was a cruel age for her to be going through this   —old enough to understand,  young enough that she struggled to comprehend everything that she was feeling.     fitzwilliam was ten years her senior and he was struggling to comprehend.       george hadn’t stayed long after the funeral,   asked for not the land that he had been left but the sum of it in money and of course he had gotten in.
he was grieving too,    was all that fitzwilliam could assume,   after all the late mr darcy had been a father too to him, in spirit.
eyes closed for a moment,  and he jolted against the onslaught of images in his minds eye.   of that night.  of the remains of the second stable hand,   of his father,  disfigured and undead,  yellowed eyes and snarling and blood covered.   looking like his father but so obviously not him too.  the removal of his head from his shoulders, the stench of burning flesh as his remains were cremated….    with a sharp intake of breath he opened his eyes, swallowing heavily as he tried to regain himself.
only then did he realize that he wasn’t alone in the library anymore,  tearful eyes find the figure of elizabeth bennet standing in the doorway   —-he didn’t know that she was coming to pemberly…..  clearly his throat and blinking away his tears he quickly pushed himself too his feet.   a small bow and it’s sheer willpower that stops his voice from wavering.    “ miss elizabeth. ”           // @mcrtifiedpride  closed starter for the angsttt

Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy never made it any secret that he loathed the constant balls that were hosted what seemed to be every other week in Hertfordshire.      There had been a time, though it was coming on six or seven years ago now, where the young gentleman of Derbyshire embraced balls and the social gatherings on the upper classes.    Then a great tragedy, which was relatively well known, and a betrayal, that was secret to all but a handful of people, had changed his view on the matter forever.
No longer could he stand the simpering and wealth obsessed gazes of those in his class and those who were lower standing of him too.   — his aunts pride had rubbed off on him and made him closed off,  led him to believe that everyone who did not earn the amount he did would be after him for nothing more than his money.    it was his fear that would have existed if it wasn’t for the dreaded plague.
the plague only made things worse
Everyone knew that a a high concentration of people meant a greater risk of a zombie out breaking spreading further. The soldier in him couldn’t turn off and had to calculate the risks.   (     the small BOY in him who had to behead his own turned father cried out for everyone else to be more careful.   this wasn’t a game, this was life or death )
Meryton hadn’t been as awful as Darcy had believed it was going to be, he would admit that.  Charles had barely taken one foot through the door, as the new eligible bachelor moving into the region, and a young woman of… different standing had captured his eyes.   Never had he seen his friend react in such a way.   ‘an angel’  Bingley had described Miss Jane Bennet and Darcy could agree, if not for his friend’s sake, that she was handsome indeed….   That was until his entire being had been captured by her sister.    Charles had, of course, spotted it immediately even if he himself hadn’t admitted it back then.
After the sickness of Jane Bennet, and the presence of Elizabeth in Netherfield that had only further confused his priorities and enamored his soul, Darcy had still done everything he could to change his friend’s mind on hosting a ball.   to no avail. The ball at Netherfield carried on as Mrs Bennet had wished and Fitzwilliam, more concerned with the SAFETY of his friend than anything else, had spent more time this evening on the perimeter, making sure that the checks were being carried out correctly on anyone in attendance, and keeping a watchful eye outside.  Trying to be everywhere at once whilst expertly hiding his fear for the night that was still stretching on.
He heard the fall of footsteps behind him and it’s instinctual that his hand falls to the katana at his side.  Years of training forced into him in the Orient and years after fighting on the front lines in the name of the king. Yet he finds himself struck almost dumb at the sight before him.  Elizabeth Bennet looked more stunning than he could have imagined. Lit from the torchlight even his stoic expression was at her weakness as the corner of his lips twitched ever so slightly and, just for a moment, in the suggestion of amusement, before the mask was back in place.
“ That is a reason, yes —”   Though he knew that Miss Bingley would suggest herself in a moment had she been in earshot.  “ — With the right partner, Miss Bennet, I do not detest it as much as you seem to think.   It just seems to me that a ball is an unnecessary risk.”     But at least this time he could know the security measures first hand.
Tumblr media
“I had a feeling that was true, Mr. Darcy." Elizabeth gave him a soft smile before standing beside him, her gaze diverting to the land for a brief moment before making eye contact with him again. "Do forgive me if I offended you with my teasing." If she could agree with her family on one thing it was for speaking her mind with opinions or teasing that Elizabeth Bennet didn't always think prior to speaking. She really only teased her sisters in the privacy of their home anyway, her way of holding onto the past when the world around them was the opposite.
She didn't hold to the same opinions as he did regarding balls. She could understand why he would hold onto such opinions, but for Elizabeth, well, balls were a way for her to hold onto an old life. As long as people came prepared to social gatherings such as this one, Elizabeth didn't see a problem with it or staying out until the late hours of the evening.
"I do see why you would think of balls being an unnecessary risk. I would share your opinion but I find them to be quite enjoyable. It's wonderful being surrounded by people and hearing them laugh again. It makes me think back to what life was like before the undead made such a ghastly appearance." Elizabeth looked over her shoulder at him again and gave him a polite smile. "But no one should forget about such a threat and come to these social gatherings unprepared."
She could see why her mother found him to be so intolerable and yet Elizabeth held no such opinion towards him. It was clear where he stood in the matters of war, the undead, and social gatherings, but the way he looked... the way his eyes were consumed with pain linked to the undead or so she assumed, Elizabeth found herself enjoying his company more than she thought would be possible so early on since their last meeting.
"Don't you think you should come inside instead of being out here alone? What if an unmentionable or two find you and you're taken by surprise with no one to come to your aid?"
