It's quiet in the maze tonight, no mice scurrying around or the soft trickle of water in the fountain. Too quiet for Griff, who's been making his own noise just to have something to make him feel less alone. His short trudge around the endless corridors eventually lead him to the winding stairs that go up into chambers that eventually lead to the world above -- but Griff is only here to sit down on the bottom steps. His ears are focused on the sound of wind up there, some faraway crickets (an old memory) and then... footsteps? That's not normal.

More than slightly confused the large minotaur pushes himself back up, shuffling away from the stairs hesitantly. The footsteps don't sound heavy, like some heavily armored man on his way to take Griff on head-first, but they also don't sound like any of the women that usually come down to bring him food and treats. These sound... exploratory. Someone who doesn't know what's waiting for them. It has him hiding back into the shadows, waiting to see who dares to still come down here all alone and at a time like this.
