The Manitowoc River is rich with history. At this point in the river (about a 1.5 miles from the mouth), you get a great visual compendium of it. Facing north, we look across the Burger Boat Co. (2nd Oldest Yacht Maker in America) shipyard where we see a McMullen & Pitz (100 years of Maritime Construction & Salvage in 2018) tug in dry dock, Burger's marine travel lift, and the storage silos of the St. Mary's Cement Company.
