I actually got so emotional about Isaac going to find the book on asexuality and picking it up and hugging it to his chest?????? Like, that fully made me cry a little. And the little swirl of animations that made me feel like he'd come home????? Omg it was so lovely. Also the scene where the artist is describing what it felt like to hear the words for the first time and to go, shit, that's ME. To learn those terms and recognise yourself in them and finally, FINALLY have a name for yourself; to finally find a description of yourself that feels like HOME. I felt that. I'll forever remember when I came across the term asexual for the first time, and I'll forever the way my jaw literally dropped open as I went, "holy shit. That's ME." That and the scene of Isaac going to get the book made me SO emotional

It felt fitting for my last fanart of 2022 to honor one of the absolute highlights of my year, drawing endpapers for the RWRB Collector’s Edition. This scene was such a beautiful, fitting conclusion to their story, and I WEPT when I read it. I will never not feel overwhelmed with gratitude when I think of this book and its impact on my life, and I can only imagine what loveliness awaits us in 2023 when the movie is released.

Surprise!

I have been cobbling this painting together in private for about a month (turns out Kensington Palace is rather complicated to draw), before giving the finished poster to Casey McQuiston last night as a pub-day gift for RED WHITE & ROYAL BLUE COLLECTOR’S EDITION—a “two homes side-by-side” mashup of canon and cinema featuring Nicholas Galitzine as Henry and Taylor Zakhar Perez as Alex. (Suffice to say, I can’t wait to see them inhabit these roles when the film launches next year!)

To those who came to The Strand last night for the event, thank you so much for your incredibly warm reception. Meeting Casey in person was an absolute dream come true and words fail to express my joy at having brought my skills to the endpapers of a book I adore so much. Apart from being hilarious, brilliant, and genuinely kind, they also happen to give AMAZING hugs:
