managing bills

making money

remembering my basic needs

sleeping regularly

outputting creatively

All requires some aspect of work for me.

And when everything in your life requires work, your balance goes out the window.

If you're neurodivergent and overwhelmed — I see you.

If you're chronically ill and overwhelmed — I see you.

You're not dysfunctional.

You're not incapable.

You're doing your best.

It’s been quite a ride since returning to the 9th island after a brief stint in Maui. I finally got out of a toxic relationship and dodged a bullet by NOT getting married. I don’t think he would be able to realize that he, in fact, is a narcissist. Gaslighting is one thing and physical abuse on top of that-no thank you. I want a different partner who will be just that-a partner. Not someone who wants to control me or get jealous or insecure every time I utter a word to another man. I never want to feel like I’m being accused of things that his mind makes up to validate his insecurities. That work is on him. I don’t want to be his therapist nor be his mother to coach him through life.

One thing I’ve learned after 4.5 years of being with a narc is that things don’t get better. You either perpetuate and enable the bad behavior or leave and move on. I don’t wish him any ill because he taught me many lessons in patience, love, understanding and recognizing my worth. And with that, I bid you adieu.
