When I posted this, I hadn’t read twisted hate so obviously Josh isn’t included and didn’t think much of it. I didn’t realise all the Josh fans would be here and feel left out 😭😭 (this was also before King of Greed came out lmao)
Theres 2 types of people who read Anna Huangs books: People who like the Rhys/Kai types and those who like the Alex/Christian types
I like the Rhys/Kai types (unproblematic kings)

Rewatching season 3 of Teen Wolf and I’m so mad that Jennifer was the darach bc it robbed Derek of such a cute relationship. In episode 9 when he secretly meets her at school, ugh he just looks so happy and I’m so sad about it.
I’m a sterek shipper through and through but now I wanna go find fics where Jennifer and Derek get together and someone else is the darach just to see what that would be like.

Who was the most lucky and un-lucky person from The Hunger Games trilogy?
Why do you pick them? Please give reasons.
You can interpret the luck and un-luck thing however you want.
Thank you :)
@curiousnonny
I love this question thank you @curiousnonny @curiousthg !!!
I think I would say that Plutarch Heavensbee is the luckiest person in the trilogy. As far as I remember, there is no mention of Plutarch's family or him giving anything up as a result of joining the rebellion. This makes him luckier than most characters because all he gave up was his wealth, he didn't even lose his power or influence. Speaking of power and influence, Plutarch remains right next to the leader in every situation. This is better, for him than being the leader because he can run off and save himself a lot easier. In Catching Fire, he was in a position right below (or close to right below) President Snow since he was the Head Game Maker. Simultaneously, he was definitely right behind Coin in the rebellion considering everything he was doing as Head Game Maker for them. In Mockingjay, he's still high up in the rebellions ranks, not at Coins level but similar. It also helps that (unlike Coin), Katniss kinda knows him and sorta trusts him because then Coin has to rely on Plutarch to get through to Katniss. Even after the rebellion he’s in a good political condition.
There are so many characters you can consider most unlucky. Theee I’m gonna mention are Finnick, Annie and Johanna. Finnick went through the trauma of the games at 14, survived and then was essentially sold off to members of the Capitol by Snow, the love of his life is captured and tortured and soon after they get married and his wife finds out she’s pregnant, he’s killed by mutts. Johanna survived the games, her family was killed by Snow so she’s all alone, was captured and tortured by the Capitol and her only real friend (Finnick) died. Annie, after surviving the games, faced severe ptsd resulting in people saying she’s crazy, the person she loves was reaped for the games again, she is captured and tortured by the Capitol and when she’s married and pregnant thinking everything is going to be ok, her husband (Finnick) is killed.

Been writing a lot of Bridgerton posts in a row and I hope I remember to come back to these during/after season 3 to see what I was right/wrong about. But moving on…
I hope that in addition to Polin story, we also get a good look/discussion about female friendships in the Bridgerton universe. Penelope and Eloise are/were the only real female friendship we see. In season 1, Daphne only spent time with her sisters/mother, we didn’t see her have any actual friends. In season 2, Kate only had Edwina, which can be excused because they were new to England but we don’t see any actual friendships develop either. Violet has Lady Danbury but they generally only get shown spending time together to set people up. The lack of true friendships (not just mothers setting up their children for marriage) is something Lady Danbury talks about in Queen Charlotte.
Penelope and Eloise are the only real friendship between women (who aren’t sisters) we see and now they aren’t friends anymore. That’s got to have an effect on them and add an interesting discussion to season 3.

Something I’m very excited to see in Bridgerton season 3 is how Penelope and Eloise become friends again. I fully expect that at some point during this season, the two of them start to become friends again, maybe not as close as before but on the road back to that.
What scenario causes their friendship to rekindle? How much is Colin involved in it? Is there one big incident that triggers it or is it a slow development over the course of a few episodes? Does Eloise become involved in Whistledown after they become friends again? Maybe I’m totally wrong and they don’t become friends again until later seasons?
Whistledown is such a big deal in the show, so I really don’t think they’d have Penelope get exposed and therefore stop being Whistledown. I have so many questions and like no answers.

So I’ve been seeing pictures of Cressida and Eloise on tiktok in season 3 and I’m so curious about how that came about. Did they become friends between seasons and start season 3 with this friendship? Are they not friends at the start of the season but become friends over the course of season 3? Is this a true friendship or an allyship?
I can only really think of one incident where Eloise and Cressida interact which is in Episode 1 of Season 2 when whilst Eloise is freaking out to Penelope over her conversation with Queen Charlotte, Cressida comes out to them, insulting Penelope and Eloise defends Penelope. Maybe Eloise befriended Cressida to get back at Penelope since she knows Cressida has treated Penelope horribly? If Eloise is just being petty, then maybe she’s also getting super into the marriage mart (much to Violets delight) as a way to get back at Penelope since she knows that whole thing is something Penelope wants to be apart of but isn’t really accepted into
Cressida also wasn’t great to Daphne so why would she befriend someone who did that? But also did she even know how Cressida treated Daphne? I thought Violet disliked the Cowpers, so I don’t know how’s she cool with Eloise befriending Cressida?
For all we know, this takes place after Eloise and Penelope make up (because obviously they will) and for whatever reason Eloise is befriending Cressida to help Penelope in some way?
Or maybe it’s not that deep and I’m majorly overthinking it?

What's your favorite heroine from Jane Austen novels? Why do you like her? Favorite quote from her?
Thank you :)
@curiousnonny
Thanks for the question @curiousnonnyblog
My favourite heroine has got to be Emma, not because she’s a great person (she’s a flawed character on purpose) but because she is so entertaining to read about. Her character development is just so fun.
What I like about Emma is how much she cares about her father and her willingness to change when confronted about her behaviour. She had good (though misguided) intentions with helping out Harriet and did care about her.
I’m going to cheat a little and instead of my favourite quote said by Emma, I’m going to go with a quote about her because I love them: “The real evils, indeed, of Emma's situation were the power of having rather too much her own way, and a disposition to think a little too well of herself”. I feel like it perfectly encapsulates her character in the beginning of the novel.

A criticism of Penelope Featherington I REFUSE to accept is that she isn’t a girl’s girl. Not because I think she is one, but because NO ONE IN BRIDGERTON IS A GIRL’S GIRL.
Season 2 revolved around the plot of getting with your sister’s man, that’s not girl’s girl behaviour (even though I adore Kate and Anthony). The main thing all the women in the Ton do is compete for men, trying to get the ones considered the best. I would’t even consider Eloise to be a girl’s girl, despite being the most against the marriage mart, because of the way puts down and refuses to understand the women around her who want different things to her. She doesn’t have to want kids and a husband like other women but if that’s something her friends or sisters want, putting them down for that isn’t girl’s girl behaviour either.
There obviously are totally valid and fair criticisms of Penelope, but using the fact that she’s not a girl’s girl against her is stupid because none of these women are so it means nothing.

From Katniss' POV, we know that every district has specialization about their main product or industry, such as District 3 (technology), D4 (fishing), D12 (coal) etc.
What kind of economic system do you think Panem have?
If we can draw parallel with real world right now, which country is the most similar with Panem?
What's your opinion about this situation on Panem and its system?
Thank you 😊
@curiousnonny
@curiousnonnyblog @curiousthg
I feel a bit ill-equipped to answer this question since I know nothing about economics but I’ll try my best.
According to the google search I just did, Panem has what is a called a command economy. I think this fits since it’s fair to assume to the Capitol dictates what is produced where. Of course, this isn’t a random decision, the natural resources and stuff of the district would be used to dictate this.
Whilst I can’t think of a specific country, it’s pretty normal for certain areas/regions to be largely based on a certain product/export. However, I’m not sure of any specific country where 1 area has one product and literally nothing else they export.
It’s obvious that this system works, at least to some extent. It’s a system ultimately designed to support and benefit the Capitol. They reap the benefits but don’t really do anything themselves (minus the peacekeepers I guess). I think it also adds to keeping each district isolated from one another. Not only do the districts never see or meet one another, but they have no overlap in their exports. Their knowledge (at least regarding their trade) is limited to what their district does and I’m willing to bet they focus education largely on the districts export and not so much on other districts.

This week marked the 12th anniversary of The Hunger Games movie release.
What do you think about THG as a movie adapatation?
Do you think THG influence other movie (/book) in the genre? Yes/No? Why?
Is there any difference in your opinion about it between when you first saw the movie (/read the book) and now?
Thank you :)
@curiousthg
Thanks for the question @curiousthg !!
I adore the THG movie. It’s still one of my favourite movies of all time and I think it’s just so well done. I love that all the tributes actually look young, like they didn’t use a load of 30 year olds to pass as 12 to 17 year olds because it makes the impact better.
I definitely think THG had a massive influence on the YA dystopian genre. Movies like Divergent and Maze Runner came as the result of the success of THG. YA dystopian novels either came about because of the books success or increased in popularity if they were already published. I think it also was pivotal in marketing for teenagers. As someone born in 2001, THG and the YA/dystopian craze that came with it (not just dystopian but also things the the fault in our stars etc) was a time when media designed for teenagers/marketed to them was massive. I can’t really think of anything in 2024 that’s working in the same way.
I’ll be honest I don’t remember much about the very first time I read/watched the book and movie since I was about 10 or 11. My parents said I was allowed to watch the movie and my mum got me THG and CF as a gift because she knew I wanted to read them before we went to the cinema. I think the main differences between then and now is that there are just some things I never thought about or noticed about the series when I first read it simply because I was so young. For example, Finnicks treatment in the Capital or the trauma victors experienced was just something I never really understood back then.

What's your favorite male character from Jane Austen novels? Why do you like him? Favorite quote from him?
Thank you :)
@curiousnonny
Lovely question from @curiousnonnyblog as per usual!!
My favourite male character has to be Henry Tilney (admittedly I haven’t read Persuasion yet but I love Henry sm I doubt it’d change my answer).
He is just so sweet to Catherine and does no wrong. His relationship with his sister is so cute and the way he immediately runs off to Catherine after finding out his father kicked her out is to die for.
My favourite quote from him has to be his entire first conversation with Catherine where he’s talking about her writing about him in her diary (it’s too much for me to write it in here lol)

What's your favorite character from all across THG trilogy & TBOSAS?
Why do you like this character?
Favorite quote or moment from them?
Please state one (or more) thing which you don't like from them.
Thank you 😊
@curiousthg / @curiousnonny
Thanks for the q @curiousthg @curiousnonnyblog
My favourite character is Peeta but I want to talk about Finnick today since he’s my second favourite and honestly, I hardly ever post about him.
I think one of my favourite things about Finnick is how complex of a character he is. We don’t know a ton of his backstory, but what we do know is fascinating. This poor man went into the games as a 14 year old boy, went through all that trauma so young, survived and suffered more but you didn’t know because of the image that was portrayed to the public.
One of my favourite moments from him is when he tells Katniss he didn’t believe the star-crossed lovers thing until Peeta his the forcefield and his heart stopped. Just a sweet moment between Katniss and Finnick in my opinion.
One thing I don’t like about his is that he dies. Genuinely can’t think of anything else about this man I dislike (I’m sure someone will reply with something and I’ll be like “oh yeah forgot about that” but for now)

I feel like we don’t talk about how ICONIC the scene of Percy getting claimed is. Like Annabeth being the first one to put the puzzle together and force him into the creek? All the campers watching in astonishment and horror as his wounds stitch themselves together before their eyes!? THE ENTIRE CAMP KNEELING BEFORE THIS CONFUSED 12 YEAR OLD!? Not to mention the “Earthshaker, Stormbringer, Father of Horses. Hail, Perseus Jackson, Son of the Sea God.” quote!!! Absolutely ICONIC scene, and I need more people to talk about the raw power that scene holds because I’ve been chasing the high of reading that for years now.
