I haven’t cried in so long, especially not because of any form of media. I used to cry very easily, but as of recent years it’s kinda just stopped.  But Critical Role broke me tonight. God dammit Liam. 

I’m so glad I started watching Critical Role, I don’t even remember how I managed to stumble upon it, but I am so glad. 

No other show, no other cast, could’ve pulled this off.

Aight it’s been like 4 months since I’ve actually posted anything on tumblr, let alone critical role related, but holy shit this campaign is actually nearing the end and I’m not capable of comprehending how much time has passed and how much actual footage of 8 people imagining things I’ve watched.  I am beyond excited for the next episode and new characters and a new campaign.  I love Vox Machina.

Listen, ya’ll can hate me if you want, but I’m with Scanlan. He used modify memory on Vex because he didn’t want to come back.  You really think, after all this time of everyone wanting to SPY on him, trying to send a hired gun AFTER him, either to drag him back or to check on him, and Pike talking into her earing trying to tell him about her day, Vex would keep that secret on her own?  You think they’d all just let him leave?  He said it himself, he’s happy with his current life. He has his daughter, he has a purpose, people who depend on him.  It is of his own free will that he attempts to reconcile with the rest of the group. And no, I don’t think they should get over it immediately, that’s not how things work. But this? All this is going to do is push him away again.  And this time it will be their fault.

I understand that they’re really just playing their characters to a T, but it makes me super uncomfortable and upset at how oddly possessive and unfriendly a few members of VM are being towards Scanlan and his departure.  It just doesn’t seem like something that people who actually care about someone would do. It’s too.. selfish.

Matt had to tell Marisha how to play her character? That's a total DMSOS (Dungeon Master's Significant Other Syndrome) move. It's when the DM gives an advantage to their significant other in the game. The DM's SO will be OP while the other characters are useless in comparison. The fact that Matt literally had to tell her how to play was that kind of a move. Not to mention hypocritical since Matt stated in a panel that doing that means you're disrespecting the players ability to play.

I mean, it was less so ‘telling’ her exactly how to play her character, and more so ‘Marisha, seriously, you need to do this.’ 

It wasn’t a DMSOS move, it was the same exact thing he had to do to Sam to get him to stop being dumb and use his god damn vibrating sword. It’s just aggravating that Marisha was so oblivious to her character’s abilities and the reality of the situation. 

I can understand why she was having trouble doing so, rough day before hand, drinking quite a bit, stressful fight, etc. but still, rough to watch. 

Like Matt said on reddit, we really don’t have all the details, nowhere close. So my post was less ‘Jfc, this is awful.’ and more ‘Hly shit this episode wtf’.
