Keeper of the Lost Cities - Shannon Messenger (October 2, 2012)
All of the official art of the characters from the graphic novel artist, itsbrych on Instagram! Here's my rating of them:
Sophie - 7/10. She looks cute! Not entirely sure why they put a filter on her, would have loved to see how this would work with her brown eyes. It looks like she's wearing the same outfit from the Exile cover instead of what she's wearing on the Keeper cover, but it's one of my favorite outfits so I'll let it slide.
Fitz - 6/10. It's not a bad drawing, but I just don't picture him to look like this. In fact, I picture him to have the same hair style as Dex and Dex to have THIS hairstyle. The bowl-cut (ish) haircut just fits Dex more (at least to me).
Keefe - 7/10. I don't think he's that bad (I think lots of people just have very strong opinions on what Keefe should look like lol). However, his chin is very distracting. I get why people wouldn't like that about him.
Marella - 9/10. I love her, and I love how you can tell that she's a small little bean from the drawing.
Biana - 8/10. I love her outfit and hair. She doesn't look like her brother at all - in fact, she looks more related to Sophie and Marella because the three girls have similar looking faces. I don't think that was intentionally, but that's why I didn't giver her a higher score.
Dex - 5/10. Why is he a redhead? He's strawberry blond? He looks like a Weasley sibling.
Exile (Keeper of the Lost Cities #2) - Shannon Messenger (October 1, 2013)
Beautiful cover, such a shame Laura drew it. However, Dex legs do look a little weird and I didn't quite picture him with that hairstyle, but I guess everyone can have their own opinion.
Exile (Keeper of the Lost Cities #2) - Shannon Messenger (October 1, 2013)
Jason Chan is such an INCREDIBLE artist. Silveny is drawn so damn well. Everything about this cover is incredible, the lighting, the characters. Probably the reason why the second book is one of my favorites.

Dex and Sophie in Paris! I'm still writing my review for the last few chapters, but I wish we spent more time in Paris than just 2-3 chapters. I think it would have been so fun to see Dex interact with a human lol.

"Let's see... you're ditching session, leaving school grounds, and" he pointed Gildie's cage - "stealing school property? Are you trying to show me up, Foster?" [Keefe] (Deleted Chapter, pg. 52)
On to the final bonus chapter of the annotated edition! Oh, Keefe, no one can one you up in that department, trust me. The scene itself didn't really strike me as interesting and I completely understand why Shannon cut it, but she mentioned in the author's note that the reason why she cut off the cryptozoology class was because it was too similar to care of magical creatures from HP and that's why Sophie tried stealing Gildie off school property from the cryptoozology class?? Shannon, who cares, that sounds so interesting! But I get it, this book already gets criticized for being too similar to Harry Potter, so I understand her reasoning.

[About Keefe] Marella snorted. “You say that like it’s a bad thing! He can annoy me anytime he wants. Right, Biana?” (Deleted Chapter, pg. 519)
Wait, at some point Marella liked Keefe? Or at least in some form found him attractive? It’s obvious Shannon didn’t keep this in for a reason, but it is interesting.

Sophie, Elwin, and I believe Bullhorn right next to Sophie! I don't remember what Banshee's are supposed to look like in the series, but they were described to look "demented" but Bullhorn looks SO cute here!

She waited for him to get up, go join his other friends - the ones who didn’t break the law or almost blow up the whole school. (Deleted Chapter, pg. 517)
I wonder who’s Dex other friends are, I don’t believe they’re ever mentioned?
Also a quick update - I will be finishing the book soon! Two years in the making, I know, but writing reviews is a learning process! my next few will probably a lot more condensed with chapters.

Found this picture of all the Councillers! There's HD pictures of each of them (all from this portrait) but here is the full one. Liora and Clarrette are my favorites, just purely on the fact that they're gorgeous.
