Me ? Crying at the knowledge that the Princesse de Lamballe very much loved, appreciated and cared for Marie ? Yes.
Wanna make it worse ? Marie turned toward the Duchesse Polignac for friendship and comfort thinking they were the best of friends - even though Yolande left miss girl sad, scared and alone when things got tough and she was no longer given the same privileges and pay. Tge princesse de lamballe came back to Marie and ended up never renouncing the royal family and was subsequently murdered for it.

Carnival was exhausting this year, perhaps it’s the hopelessness of her position and all the misfortunes that have yet to truly endear her to the people and leave no question of an heir to rule when her husband no longer can.
