Obligatory Artifact run that actually did well! Haven and Chronos Shadow don't win against this deck and 2/3 wins vs Wrath calls for a celebration.

Couldn't play on previous days but came back to snatch a Group A qualification with Machina Belphomet. Although only one of those matchups was Wrath, this deck feasts on Machina Shadow.
Now what's this about people spamming Laina Haven? I wanted to play Rally.

Victory Rewards: Oh boi we're halfway already.
I got to 1k with Artifacts and, as soon as I knew how to play against the early meta of Evo and Ladica, then the top tier decks changed.
Shadow and Wrath we're overwhelming for the deck, which I answered with Rally Portal and tested Machina (with or without Belphomet) until I got stuck at 2k through the whole weekend.
I bit the bullet and played Wrath blood (those Yor Forgers better work or else), which resulted in an steady climb at the start of the week until the 3k. And then the build changed to answer the new meta, Aiolon ruins and Elena are now in the deck and I fell out of love.
But you know what's good against that iteration of Wrath? Machina Belphomet. It pressures Blood decks and wins the grind battle against Shadow, the only two things it will not win against are Ladica and a Rune that started with Maiser in hand.
Found an interesting list on SV Wins and now I'm sitting at 4k.

Victory Rewards Day 1
Artifact is very comfortable, it's nice to be back. It does well against the early meta of Evo Blood, Natura Forest and Amulet Haven, but not so against the other matchups I've found (Natura Dragon, Ramp Dragon and Heal Haven)
There's a lot of Wrath too, that's where I've found the most fun.
And there was a Castelle Player who joined in the emote battle.
Tumblr media
My highest winstreak so far, then I started losing one after another (my brain can't keep up). Currently sitting on 700 MP
Aaand here's the deck, I'm thinking of dropping one Retrafia, the Illganeau is just fanatism.
Tumblr media
Now I'm debating whether see Machina and Rally standings, keep playing Artifacts, or simp for the Rose forest lady an play Castelle.

[HOS] Heroes of Shadowverse: Portalcraft cards' first impressions.
Shadowverse’s “last” expansion starts tomorrow, a whole set of renascent cards full of characters and lore from the story mode will arrive and, hopefully, fill the next three months with the nostalgia and the competitiveness that makes this game one of my favorites.
From early reveals, some classes are getting menacing finishers, while others, like Portalcraft seem to be full of support for all the playstyles available on rotation. Artifacts, Control, Evo and Machina will all be getting new cards to push the class forward, but are they strong enough?
Time to read the whole set and find out.
Bronze Cards:
Nameless Impulse: From RSC, the EP recovery stays but the draw is out, instead it becomes an artificial 0-cost from mid to lategame. The card itself is not exactly a new staple, but it could fit in Evo or Control builds. 3/5
Overgrown Wretch: Illganeau’s token is back, and the old Rally Portal did not use the bronze card itself. The story might repeat this time, unless a new aggro deck enjoys not having board presence. 1/5.
Metal Mammoth: This Machina card is now Evo Support and a seriously strong wall from turn 8 onwards. Some of the new cards do extra effects if you have an 8-cost in hand, and this one might fit the bill for Machina portal or Evo Portal. 4/5.
Outmodded Warrior: I see this one more as Machina fodder than as an Artifact card, but it is a new name still. Kinda expensive a 3 tho. 1/5.
Silver Cards:
Dual Sword of Severance: Maysia tokens returning would’ve been great, but this card is not that bad anyway. On the right targets it becomes a free removal, so it will see some play, either early on the expansion or as a later tech. 3/5.
Mass Produced Enforcer: It stopped giving a bot token but now has unconditional rush, a nice trade in my book. As it did before, this one is a staple in Machina Portal. 5/5.
Fettler Coyote: 1 cost 4/4 is not something to ignore, all this PP recovery lines up for a spam of cards whose pay off I’m still unsure of. It might see play, specially in control portal, because it’s not a bad card, but doesn’t have an obvious place. 4/5.
Gold Cards:
Duel with Destiny: This new version doesn’t have the dual effect but it is still strong, the Yuwan side goes nice with Artifact and control, while the Belphomet side is perfect for his Machina/Control goal. 5/5
Sparksting Archaelogist: Card’s good on a vacuum but it has strong competition with Jasper (Carnelia), Agyll must be your first Evo everytime, so… This is, maybe, a 2-of in artifact, because this guy on curve is annoying. At worst it’s a fusion target. 4/5.
Legendary Cards:
Illganeau, Restored Wretch: Rally 20 is achievable in artifact, but the decklist is getting kind of tight. It’s a good card overall, so it might create his own deck. 4/5
Belphomet, Loretaker: His Fusion effects are a nice addition and his menacing turn 8 is still a threat, Machina-Control might enjoy this card but his place in the metagame looks hazy. 4/5. Hope to be wrong.
Postapocalyptic Girls: A 3rd legendary card and it’s an original! These girls are a valuable addition to artifact portal, and their side of resonance might pair well with chaos aura and control builds, emphasis on “might”, because those analyzings clogging the deck are something to watch out. 5/5
Overall the power level of these cards is low, but the synergies are really high and portal has at least three decks for climbing, I will miss Enhanced Portal and Killzael, but the latter has a skin I’m dying to get and the new environment looks fun to try.

[RSL] Resurgent Legends: Portalcraft Cards first impressions.
The announcement of Shadowverse Worlds Beyond prompted some questions about the future of Shadowverse. For now, its’s expected for both games to run at the same time from the start of summer 2024, but it’s safe to assume that the original Shadowverse will be getting less and less content with time.
Resurgent Legends introduces the first signs of this: A repeat of the last new year leader skins for the end of year event, a focus on releasing just the skins for the winners of the previous anniversary poll, and, most important, old card art getting re-released in the form of new cards with modern effects. Overall, the whole set feels nostalgic and fresh at the same time.
Portalcraft is no exception, the original playstyle of adding artifacts to the deck is getting more support in this set, but it seems that’s not the only mechanic getting new support. And so, it’s time to read the new additions to the class.
Bronze Cards:
Reboot Button: I remember this card being wonky, but this new version is quite good, it works as a decent starter for the deck, while its eventual transformation choices help to either accelerate the pace, or sustain the player in case of trying a late game victory. 3.5/5
Hall of Monoliths: Are we… are we getting a new way to recover Play Points? If not, this card’s cost is quite high. It’s only decent when playing on curve, it won’t see much play. 1/5
Mia, Winged Puppet: The Second Resurgent card is also lowkey decent, sustaining yourself is less valuable than the self evo but it’s appreciated: even so, it’s not the best evo nor puppet support, but it deserves some testing at least. 2/5
Puppet’s play: Control card, it accelerates your destroyed followers count by a lot with the enhance effect but it’s not good as a turn 6 play unless you’re teching it in Enhance Portal. 3/5
Silver Cards:
Ines, Maiden of Shadows: Oh boi is she back, she still retains a resonance related effect that synergizes great with Artifact portal by tutoring either Retrafia or Agyll. New Artifact staple. 4/5
Holy Biker: Good addition to artifact decks without being broken, it’s a good candidate to see play. 3.5/5
Father of Medicine: Artifact tutor with PP recovery on evo, for three cost I’d rather play some other cards with better evo effects, but it’s not completely unplayable, it’s just that there are better options. 2/5
Gold Cards:
Laser Tyranny: This burn is funnier than Disseminator of Wisdom’s Accelerate, let’s hope Galdr is nowhere to be seen during the next expansion. 3.5/5, it’s good on paper but not a key card.
Death Gunner: Enhance support! Good Enhance support! Sadly, it will be restricted to being 1-of in Enhance portal, but it’s a nice addition nonetheless. 4/5
Legendary Cards:
Electric Rhino: Self cost reduction is always good, the actual value of the card comes in the form of its rhino tokens to enable a burn/control playstyle for artifact portal and a new winning condition for the deck. Obvious staple, seems good enough to put Artifact Decks in high tiers. 5/5
Eon, Destiny’s Hand: Control card, good on paper, destroying our own followers needs a better wincon than Lyelth but this card is a great enabler. 4/5
Overall, these new portalcraft cards push the classic playstyles of artifact and puppets but further testing is required; in the meantime, Artifact seems to have gotten a stronger push, but it might not be enough to topple Machina or Enhance decks. While the meta settles, Portalcraft has 3 (maybe 5?) options to climb, who will be the strongest at the end, and will it be enough to guarantee a tier 1 spot? We’ll see in the next weeks.
