The way that Kaeya looked at him, eye streaming with tears… there was no way that Kaeya could be lying. Diluc didn’t trust a lot of what Kaeya said, but it was impossible for him to look into Kaeya’s eyes in that moment and not see the terrible truth laid at his feet, difficult as it was to swallow.
All of them. Khaenri’ans. Cursed. And Kaeya was their…?
He couldn’t finish that thought, as if the very idea refused to find a place in his mind. Because if he accepted that the Abyss Order was made of the Khaenri’an people, then what did that make him who had slaughtered so many of them? His stomach felt like lead.
Kaeya pulled off his eyepatch for the first time since they were boys, and the eyepatch disappeared into the bushes as Diluc stared at that golden eye that seemed to confirm everything. Every horrible thing. It changed everything…
It was a lot to take in. Maybe he, too, would be a wreck one day when the weight of his actions finally fell upon him, but for that night, for that moment kneeling in the street with Kaeya, he just wanted to be Kaeya’s brother again.
“Don’t say that. I never could have gone through with it,” he said gruffly, a certain sternness in his expression as he wrapped his arms around Kaeya for the first time in years and hugged him close to his chest. “Kaeya… despite everything that happened… you’re the only family I have.”
He took a sharp breath before the next words spilled out of him, as if they’d been waiting at the tip of his tongue for years, “Kaeya, I’m sorry. It never should’ve been this way. I want to—”
He loosened his hold at the sound of a cat leaping from a wall nearby. “Let’s get you inside. We shouldn’t discuss this out here.”
Tumblr media
Kaeya was completely out of it. He never got this drunk, but since the memories came flooding back, alcohol was the only way he could get through with everything. He was so at a lose - like he had no idea what to do with himself. It was exhausting to deal with his thoughts. Alcohol made it easier. Not a healthy option, but it was the only option he had. Who could he talk to? If he wasn’t so drunk, he probably would have never told Diluc.
When Diluc wrapped his arms around, Kaeya was frozen in place. When was the last time Diluc hugged him? Kaeya had no idea. Hearing Diluc’s words, Kaeya completely broke down. The sob ripped through him. His arms wrapped around Diluc and he gripped the back of his shirt.
Diluc was his only true family. Kaeya knew that.
He nodded his head as he tried to will back some of his tears. He pulled away and wiped his face, “Okay…”
It was a weak response. He was exhausted and drunk and he didn’t know what to do. A part of him wanted to just cry more and then sleep, but he needed to sober up. There was no waking up and forgetting he just outed all his secrets to his estranged brother. Though, it seemed like Diluc threw down an olive branch and Kaeya will grasp it firmly.

“Haha, awww! Wasn’t I cute back in the days? Of course I’m still cute today. Besides, I can’t remember you ever complaining about it. Unlike Diluc you weren’t above playing with ‘girl’s toys’”, she remembered. Amber followed his eyeline and where it lead made her grin. “Oh? She’s quite beautiful, isn’t she?”, she teased him as they started to dance. “You should dance with her, too.”
Lumine smiled at Diluc and put her hand over his, the two of them walking to the dancefloor next to each other. “Hm, sounds like you love him very much. That’s great! I’d love to hear more about the two of you if you don’t mind.” After all, the way a person treated others said a lot about them.
“I do. My twinbrother Aether. He’s the blonde one over there, watching us with eagle eyes.” A giggle escaped her as she she shot said brother a ‘really?‘-look. When the song started playing, she started to dance with the redheaded gentleman. She had practiced a lot, so her movements were secure and swift. Whenever they were close during the dance, she engaged in light chatter with him.
She really tried to stay completely focused on the duke, but she felt her eyes constantly drawn to his brother, especially when they danced closer to each other in specific dance figures.
Tumblr media
“Ah, a true man looks beyond gender roles, does he not? Besides, those toys were more fun,” Kaeya admitted easily, not the least bit ashamed. What did he have to be ashamed of? If anyone dared make fun of him for his choices, Kaeya would be quick to put them in their place.
At her words, he tilted his head. She was beautiful and he would love to dance with her, but Diluc already has eyes for her. What is he supposed to do? Their is no marriage in his future. Why should he interfere?
“I am sure her dance card is filled,” Kaeya offered the up excuse, but occasionally, his eyes drifted back to the diamond of the season. He’s not surprised that Diluc would choose her.
Diluc smiled at her, “I am sure I can convince your brother that he has no need to worry about me. And there is plenty of time to hear more about Kaeya and myself.”

Diluc was solid against Kaeya’s sudden shove, but he got the message and promptly moved aside to allow Kaeya to vomit in some nearby bush and not all over his vest. When they were younger, Diluc might have patted his back or held his hair or offered him some water, but Diluc simply waited for the retching to end, ignoring the ache in his chest to reach out and help.
Kaeya was an adult; he didn’t need anyone to comfort him. Least of all Diluc. Besides, it was his fault for drinking so much.
Still, he followed him over near the bush when Kaeya seemed done and knelt down beside him, seeing as Kaeya didn’t seem ready to get up just yet. He tried not to breathe too deeply and was grateful for the wind that pushed the smell of Kaeya’s expelled stomach contents further away.
Then, Kaeya talked. Really talked.
Diluc’s eyebrows pinched together as he watched him, trying to sense just how much of what Kaeya was saying was truth or fiction. That Kaeya had experienced something was clear—a horrible pain that Diluc could only imagine—but the rest of it was… unthinkable. He’d been prepared to believe that what he experienced was somehow related to the fate of Kaeya’s homeland, but to say that people from five hundred years ago were still alive, that they were calling to him, that he was a prince? That Diluc had a much harder time believing.
If there were not so many tears in Kaeya’s eye and his words so unsure, Diluc might have dismissed the story entirely.
“Kaeya…” After a long moment, he sighed. “Let’s say that I believe you. You’re telling me that there are people who have lived over five hundred years and you can hear them because—” He paused, struggling to accept the idea. “—you’re a prince? Do you even realize how that sounds?”
He shook his head and ran a gloved hand through the hair that often fell in front of his eyes, pushing it back. When he spoke again, his voice was gentle. “You were in a lot of pain… That I can believe. Maybe you hallucinated these voices. Pain can do that.”
Tumblr media
Kaeya’s hands moved to his head, gripping it as the awful memories came flooding back. The pain... the voices... it consumed him and it made it impossible for him to sleep without waking up screaming, his body covered in a cold sweat. The pain he felt that night was so intense. He was certain he’d never felt anything so exhausting.
His eyes filled with tears as if he was reliving it in that moment. He didn’t doubt that the alcohol was amplifying his fear or the memories. He never wanted to relive those moments ever again, but they haunted him. Each step he took was reminder of that night where everything came flooding back.
“Hillichurls.... samachurls... Abyss mages... Abyss Lectors... all of them...,” Kaeya looked up at Diluc, desperation in his eyes. Diluc had asked him what was wrong and Kaeya was telling him everything.
“They’re Khaenri’ans....... cursed... to be monsters who live forever...”
He choked on a sob as he covered his face, only to pull the damned eye patch off, throwing it. Diluc had seen his golden eyes back in his youth once before Crepes told him to never show it again. Not even to Diluc. Not to anyone.
“I should have died that night... the night he found me...,” he didn’t have to clarify who. Diluc knew who he meant. Kaeya closed his eyes as the tears continued to fall, “Or that night when he di-... when you fought me. I should have died then...”
He chuckled bitterly, “But Celestia is cruel... giving me my vision... I’d rather you had killed me...”

As far as Diluc was concerned, Kaeya wasn’t likely to divulge any real information or answers tonight. Kaeya only spoke the truth half the time when he was sober, let alone when he was drunk enough to look ill. Perhaps Diluc could try asking again sometime when he’d sobered up, or maybe he’d just let Jean know that he tried and leave it in her hands.
No matter what happened with Kaeya, they’d burned their bridges long ago. He’d walk him home, maybe keep an eye on him for a few weeks, and let that be the end of it.
Diluc grunted as he shifted his weight to support Kaeya’s taller frame as Kaeya leaned against him, an arm wrapped around his shoulders. Kaeya smelled like wine and his skin had a cool touch to it compared to his own warmth. “You reek…” he grumbled, and they began to walk.
For a long while, they were quiet as they made their way toward Kaeya’s home. Compared to their usual fighting and jabs, Diluc preferred it that way. The night air was cool and crisp and the stars shone bright overhead. Diluc glanced to his side to find Kaeya staring up at the glittering expanse of sky, and he wondered whether he was quietly admiring or just trying to keep his drinks down.
But then he spoke.
He’d never heard Kaeya sound like that.
He knew little of Kaeya’s origins, save what he had shared that stormy night so long ago when Diluc had been anything but willing to listen. All that he had understood in that state had been that Kaeya—his sworn brother and the one person whose support he needed in that moment—might be a threat to Mondstadt, that he was a liar, and that he and his father were nothing more than pawns in some grand scheme. He’d picked up bits and pieces of history from his time abroad, but never anything that made sense.
It wasn’t a matter that he took lightly.
“Cursed? he repeated, louder than Kaeya’s whisper but soft enough to keep anyone from overhearing as they walked through the sleeping city. “By them you mean your people,” he posited. “This thing that happened to you… You’re saying it’s connected to them?”
< tw: vomiting >
Tumblr media
Kaeya felt like he was going to be sick again. He pushed Diluc away from him and stumbled over to the a push where the contents of his stomach onto the ground. He actually felt a bit better now that the contents of his stomach were no longer in his body. It was still as rather awful feeling and Kaeya had never been so drunk that he threw up. He hadn’t been eating much as it is since it all happened. Food just made him feel ill. Talking about what was wrong... that wasn’t helping.
He moved so he was sitting on his behind instead of on his knees in a bush. He groaned, closing his eye as he took a breath. He rubbed his sleeve over his lips to clean up his face a little bit.
Opening his eye again, he looked at Diluc and shrugged, “You... you know the feeling when another element affects you. Imagine all of them at once.... electro, cryo, pyro, dendro - all of them. All at once... That’s what it felt like it.”
Kaeya looked away again, his eye filling with tears, “I don’t think... I’ve ever felt such pain before.... Every part of my body felt like it was being ripped apart. Like I was dying.... And I could hear them...”
He rested his elbows against his knees and covered his face with his hands, “Every single one of them... cursed by what had happened 500 years ago... They are still alive. I could-”
Kaeya choked on a lump in his throat at the memories. He wished Klee hadn’t seen that. He wished she never witnessed what had happened to him. The poor thing.
“... I could hear them... begging me to make it stop... begging their.....,” he didn’t want to say it, “... their prince to make it stop....”
He lifted his eyes to look at Diluc, “I can’t... help them...”

Kaeya seemed remorseful at the thought of Klee being frightened and, for once, Diluc was fairly certain that Kaeya was sincere. But regret implied that something like what Klee had described had truly happened, …which was a troubling thought.
Either that or he was only regretting that Klee had spread the news of his… fit. Whatever it was. Kaeya didn’t answer the question of what exactly happened or why. He seemed to be avoiding that and something told Diluc that he likely wasn’t about to change his tune just because Diluc was the one asking.
Was it related to his past? To the secrets that Kaeya kept? Was it a threat to Mondstadt?
Diluc watched Kaeya’s back as they spoke, wondering what it was that Klee saw that day, and the mental image of Kaeya bent over and crying out in pain made his stomach sour.
“More like slippery…” he countered, but the jab held fewer sharp edges than before. They were still far from being on good terms, but he wasn’t the sort to kick someone when they were already down.
“Come on. I’ll walk you home,” he said, moving forward to stand at Kaeya’s side, his arms crossed over his broad chest. “Just do me a favor and don’t vomit on me.”
Tumblr media
Kaeya laughed, but it was humorless. His expression showed that the comment still hurt.
Give it to his dear estranged brother to call him slippery. He guessed there were worse things that Diluc could throw his way. Still, he did notice his comeback didn’t have its usual venom. It seemed as if Diluc was genuinely worried about him. For what reason, Kaeya wasn’t so sure.
At the offer, Kaeya opened his mouth to decline, but he found that he didn’t want to. He didn’t want to push Diluc away. This was... something. There were times in their past, before that had happened, Diluc would he the shoulder for Kaeya to lean on.
He smiled softly and threw his arm over Diluc, “Fine, fine. Since you offered, I cannot refuse, can I? Also... I make no promises.”
Kaeya would do his best not to vomit on the other. He hasn’t felt well for days. The feeling as if the world was on his shoulders was so great. Though it wasn’t truly the world, it was the gravity of the situation that was beyond his control. The result of the destruction of his homeland - the land he was the sole sovereign of. The more the Traveler meddled with the Abyss Order, the more Kaeya’s time in Mondstadt would be limited. Soon, his origin will come to light.
Tumblr media
“I’m still afraid of the dark, you know,” Kaeya mumbled as he looked up at the sky, “Like at any second, it will start to fall... and take everything with it.... It wouldn’t be the first time....”
His last sentence was barely a whisper. His heart hurt.
“I’m cursed... like the rest of them...”

“Good.”
He sighed, happy to hear that. It felt like a time where he had to be the person to mend things between them. Time would heal but deep down, if he didn’t do anything, they would be lost again. The connection they had thay was barely coming back would be severed. That was something he would truly regret.
He blamed himself for acting the way he had years ago. If he was patient, he wouldn’t have lashed out so viciously. He only knew his father…..their father would reprimand him for such a thing.
“All right. Give me a moment here and we can head to the winery. If you’re up for it.”
Raising his hand to ruffle the other’s hair but stopped awkwardly. Taking his hand back to have it rest at his side. It felt too soon. Perhaps one of these days when the two were all right. It won’t be the same as before but it would be something.
“Sorry. Old habit.”
Kaeya was never one to feel awkward, but he can’t help but feel like he was always walking on egg shells around Diluc. That any moments they had that were good since then would crumble away and Diluc would turn his back on him again.
He still did everything he could to be in Diluc’s life, even if it meant he had to annoy the other a little bit. Diluc didn’t necessarily push him away. He might seem indifferent or annoyed, but not getting pushed away was enough for him.
Feeling the hand on his head, he paused. Memories of Diluc doing that in their past came flooding back. He released a small breath he had been holding and smiled, shrugging his shoulders slightly, “It’s fine.... I’ll wait.”

Typical.
Kaeya turned away from him, looking like a petulant child, and Diluc barely held himself back from rolling his eyes at the obvious lie. If Kaeya was really drunk enough to think that Diluc would just give up and go home because he denied that anything was wrong, then he was going to be disappointed.
Because something was wrong. He could feel it.
“Normally, I’d agree with you on that,” he said, watching Kaeya with that same piercing gaze. “But Klee reported the same story to multiple people and Jean can’t seem to pin you down long enough to ask about it.” He inclined his head, silently studying Kaeya’s stance. “It isn’t like you to run from your problems.”
No. They might not see eye-to-eye in their approach, but they both faced plenty of hardship and neither of them were the sort to run. Their father had taught them better than that.
He shrugged off Kaeya’s dig at his vigilante work. He had tough enough skin that Kaeya wouldn’t get under it so easily with a remark like that.
“Our midnight activities?” he repeated instead. “And what midnight activities are you up to, Captain? Apart from scaring little girls and getting drunk at my tavern.”
Tumblr media
Damnit. He should have known Klee would eventually tell and Jean would go to Diluc, despite knowing the two of them weren’t on good terms. This was probably her attempt to try and get them to reconcile. It wasn’t going to happen. Diluc had made it clear years ago.
He groaned, moving his hand to cover his face while his other reached to the brick wall for leverage. His head felt like it was throbbing. He was certain he was going to vomit. He maybe over indulged too much with the wine.
“I...,” he scowled. He hadn’t meant to scare Klee. He still wasn’t sure what happened. Based on the letter the Traveler sent to Jean, it had to do with Khaenri’ah and based on how awful he felt that day, he already knew that much.
“I hadn’t meant to scare her,” Kaeya stared down at the ground as he leaned against the cold brick wall. He kept his back to Diluc. It was easier than looking at the other. He didn’t want to admit any of this to anyone - especially not Diluc.
“Also I always run from my problems. I’m very fast.”

Turning to him, he stared for a moment at the other. Seeing if he truly wanted to go or simply stay. It was a hard day for both of them. Only happening once a year.
“If you wish to, I won’t stop you.” He finally said. “I think…..you should stay a little longer. Only if you wish to.”
He won’t push, he’d welcome the extra company. He was sure father would be happy to see them together. Never apart. Still, it was up to him.
“Are you…” Making himself speak more honestly. “Are you busy today? Perhaps we can catch up a bit.”
He wondered if Diluc had heard all those things he said. It would be a little embarrassing if he had. The guilt he had, blaming himself for what happened. If he had been a little faster - a little stronger. To add insult to energy, his vision came to him in that moment. It was a cruel day, but for Diluc, it was supposed to be a joyus one.
Kaeya raised his eye in surprise. Diluc... wanted him to stay? Kaeya was always pretty good at reading between the lines.
A soft, sad smile on his lips, “I’ll stay...”
At the question, he raised a brow. No. Jean had given him the day off. She knew what day it was. She knew Kaeya’s thoughts would be elsewhere. He just... hadn’t expect Diluc to request such a thing. He opened his mouth, ready to be his usual Kaeya self and say ‘whatever the birthday boy wants’, but he stopped that thought. He had secretly hoped that one day, Diluc would want him around again, so he needed to not do anything to set the other off. Especially not today.
“Sure. I’m free.”

Diluc had picked flowers to visit his Father’s grave. A day he always preferred to be alone and mourn. Wishing for the days to come back but knew it would never. As his steps grew heavier as he got closer, he noticed a figure by the grave.
As he got closer, he couldn’t help but feel an ache in his chest. Silently he walked up, placing a hand on Kaeya’s shoulder.
“Hey.”
He simply said before placing his own flowers next to the ones there.
Kaeya froze when he felt the hand on his shoulder. He was so lost in his own feelings and thoughts that he had no idea that Diluc had shown up. He usually tried to leave before Diluc showed up, but he had a slow start that day.
He was silent as he stood there, staring down at the grave as Diluc set down his own flowers.
The cryo user closed his eye and swallowed the lump in his throat. He should go. He had no right to be there. Kaeya opened his eye, “Hey.... I was... just leaving.”

He stood in front of the grave for a long time. The flowers he laid down was freshly picked and beautiful. He did this every year.
“Fat-...,” his blank expression turned dark. He closed his eye and sighed before opening it once more, “Crepes. I don’t think I can keep my promise to you. You asked me to always stay by Diluc’s side and be there for him if you can’t.... I failed. He doesn’t want me there.”
He closed his eye tightly and shook his head, “He’s better off without me anyways. I can’t even wish him happy birthday..... I’m sorry.”

IT’S  ALL  ABOUT  THE  YEARNING
❝  you need someone.  let me be that person.  let me be what you need.  ❞
❝  look,  i dunno if i’m the kind of person you need or even want right now.  but i’m looking around and i’m the only one who’s here.  ❞
❝  i never realized how much i needed you until you were the one person who wasn’t there.  ❞
❝  you asked me once,  if i would ever take a chance on us…maybe that ship sailed.  but.  ask me again?  sometime— doesn’t have to be today.  maybe tomorrow just.  ask me again.  ❞
❝  i know i can’t protect you from everything,  but i wish you’d let me protect you from the things i can control.  ❞
❝  i used to have so much faith.  maybe not in deities or something but,  in the world.  the universe.  i believed their was a purpose to it all.  i’m not sure when i lost that.  ❞
❝  have you ever had something…missing?  like something just doesn’t feel right inside you but you don’t know what it is.  ❞
❝  sometimes,  i just need the world to be beautiful.  i know how dark and ugly it can be but i just want to see something good and focus only on it for a few minutes.  ❞
❝  i was sort’ve hoping you needed me.  is that selfish?  ❞
❝  people need someone to see them for what they are and not just see it but accept it.  i want to be that person for anyone i can…but it can be so suffocating to be that person and also remain unseen.  ❞
❝  sometimes i feel i’m being crushed under the weight of everything i’ll never be.  ❞
❝  you’re looking at me but you’re not seeing me.  do you know how that feels?  just see me.  please.  ❞
❝  i want to deserve you.  i’m trying to deserve you.  ❞

❝  every time you smile at me,  i memorize it.  i remember each moment that i get to be the one to bring out that light inside you.  no matter what happens between us,  that’s what i’ll remember.   ❞
❝  i can’t help but think there’s got to be something out there for me,  somewhere.  just some place where i actually feel like i belong.  ❞
❝  the world is so big.  why do i never feel like i fit into it?  ❞
❝  when i’m with you i feel like myself.  i feel like every side of me is present and accepted.  and i feel good about it—  i feel good about who i am when i’m with you.  ❞

❝  i want to look in the mirror one day and not feel uncomfortable with my own reflection.  ❞

❝  do you even know what it does to me?  every time i see you cry,  any time you’re hurt even the smallest bit it just— do you realize how deeply you’ve imbedded yourself into my heart?  ❞
❝  i don’t feel like a whole person without you anymore.  i don’t fucking care if anyone else would say about that.  you’re part of who i am now.  the most important piece of me.  ❞
❝  every time you walk away you take another piece of me with you.  ❞
❝  i’m only really living in the moments when we’re together.  the rest is just existing until you look at me again.  ❞
❝  it feels like there’s a string around my heart and it’s connected to you.  everywhere you go you’re just tugging me behind,  pulling me towards you.  ❞
❝  you’ve got me in the palm of your hands.  you could crush me and i would still thank you for touching me at all.  ❞
❝  i no longer know where i end and you begin.  you’ve wound yourself around my soul so tightly,  you’re all i feel anymore.  ❞
❝  you’ve stolen my heart,  the least you could do is tell me what you intend to do with it.  ❞
❝  i don’t have perfect words.  i’m not the kind of person who knows how to sound poetic and shit.  so all i know what to tell you is that i belong to you.  i don’t know if you want me.  but i’m yours.  and at this point however it is you need me,  i’m here.  ❞
❝  you’re the only thing that matters anymore.  i can’t eat,  i can’t sleep—  all the goddamn cliches from every stupid movie and song.  you’re all i think about.  i’m useless except when i’m yours.  ❞
❝  i haven’t stopped thinking about the way you laugh.  i’m hoping i’ll get to hear it again.  ❞
❝  when your eyes are on me,  i feel like something worth seeing.  ❞
❝  just let me look at you for a little bit.  ❞
❝  i would do anything for you.  all my lines and rules.  they mean nothing when it comes to you.  it’d cross and break them all just to make you happy.  ❞

melipetals·:
They sounded just like Aether and herself when they were bickering; it was nice to see that siblings would always be, well, siblings no matter where she was in the world.
Oh, he wouldn’t put his name down right now? Too bad.. hm… maybe she should leave one spot open on purpose.. But could she really refuse if anybody wanted a dance with her? Aether would say she could just tell them no, but she didn’t want to be rude. She wanted to get to know as many people as possible and this was a good way to do it.. besides, if she really had to get married, she wanted to be sure it would be the right person.
She slowly nodded towards Kaeya. “If there’s a free spot before the last dance, I will let you know..” Oh. Or would that be inappropriate to ask him? Should she wait for him to ask again? … She was overthinking things again.
“Well, would you have offered? i think you would’ve just tried to sneak away and drink with your buddies instead of asking anybody to dance.”, Amber teased her friend as she took his hand to follow him onto the dancefloor.
Lumine pulled her eyes away from them and looked back to Diluc. “Oh, please, it’s quite alright. I’m not bothered by it.” Quite the contrary actually, he seemed to be one of the most relaxed people in this room.. not to mention handsome. But the blonde pushed those thoughts away since it would be unfair towards the man who was talking to her right now. She would focus on him and try to get to know him better.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
She’d save him a dance? He wondered if Diluc would be alright with that. If this girl was to be named the season’s diamond, Diluc would be the first in line. He is a Duke after all. Kaeya were merely a Sir. A knight, nothing special in the least. Not to mention, he wasn’t a true Mondstadtian. And the season’s notorious rake. He’s sure in due time, his name will be thrown into the mud in front of the girl and she’ll turn her nose up at him. Even if she’s friends with Amber, who still seemed to think highly of him.
It didn’t matter. Marriage wasn’t an option.
“Ah, you wound me, Amber. Of course, I must dance with the young lady who used to look up at me with big eyes. ‘Kaeya! Kaeya, you promised to play dollies with me’,” his attempt at hitting the high notes of Amber’s voice was not very good. He smiled anyways.
His eyes, however, veered from Amber though and turned back to his brother and Lumine. He is sure his brother will win her affection in due time. He should be happy for Diluc.
But he wasn’t.
Diluc smiled softly, “He’s a bit eccentric, but I am lucky to have a brother like him.”
He held out his hand to her so he could go to the dance floor with her, “Do you have any siblings?”

Kaeya chewed on his thumb nail as he paced back and forth in front of the Archon statue in front of the large tree. He’s not sure why he went there, but he needed to get out of the city. The eyes seemed to watch him more closely or maybe he truly is losing his mind to think such a thing. He was going insane.
After what he learned had happened in the chasm, he was certain that his life was slowly unraveling. He hadn’t been able to sleep in days. Any time he tried to sleep, his dreams were plagued with the past - a past that was not truly his.
At least, there was a familiar sight in some of the dreams.
He stopped and looked up at the sky for a moment before closing his eye, “Akimi. I need to talk to you.”
He knew the other found him irritating and confusing and suspicious, but who didn’t? Kaeya was certain his theory about about Akimi was true now. The other was a celestial being and Akimi had known his past self. And his past self had feelings for Akimi.

“But... you look so pretty... with my dick inside of you,” Kaeya muttered against Childe’s lips as he continued to pound into the other. “They should see how... pretty you are...”
Of course, he knew Childe might not actually want that. He was trying to be quiet though. He was all talk. He’d never go anything to make Childe’s life difficult on purpose and no matter how hot the idea was, he didn’t want Childe to come to hate him.
He kissed the other once more, swallowing Childe’s moans.

“Ohh, I see. I guess I should’ve written down one or two made-up names beforehand then..”, Lumine admitted as she heard from the brunette next to her that it didn’t look well when your dancecard was empty. But now it was too late anyways, right?
“Don’t worry, I’m sure being the diamond will get you more than enough interested gentlemen who want to dance with you…. and oh, I didn’t even finish talking and we have the first ones coming up.”, Amber giggled to Lumine and turned to the two familiar brothers approaching.
“Mh?” She followed her line of sight and watched two handsome men walking up to them. Oh geez, her heart was pounding. Would they be ticked off by her empty card? Greeting them as graceful as she could muster up, she dropped into a curtsey, as well as Amber did. She seemed familiar with them.
Lumine smiled at both of them. “Lumine Viatrix. It’s so nice to make your acquintances.”, she introduced herself. The redhead seemed a lot more formal than his brother, his little comment making her chuckle. “Of course.. I’d be honored.” She offered Diluc the card so he could write his name down.
“Ah? Now what about me, hm? Don’t you wanna dance with good old Amber?”, the brunette joked beside her. “Kaeya, you’re such a great dancer. Do me the honors, yes?”
Amused, Lumine eyed Kaeya, wondering if he wanted to dance with her too. That would mean some presentable two names on her card. And she was curious if he really was such a good dancer.

Kaeya eyed his brother and smiled, shrugging his shoulders easily at the other. He’s not sure what Diluc’s big stink is. He was just making the other look better after all by being his usual annoying self.
At Amber, he chuckled, “Ah, and I thought I was meant to be the gentleman and offer my honors, my lady?”
“You? A gentleman?” Diluc questioned.
Kaeya feigned hurt, “Brother, you wound me.”
He casted a eye towards Lumine and bowed his head to her, “Maybe if your card doesn’t fill, I can write down my name and tell you how great my brother is.”
His eyes stayed on her for a bit longer before he turned to Amber and held out his hand to her, pulling her along with him.
Diluc cleared his throat, “... I apologize... for him...”
