My Room
Tumblr media
This is all of the art or posters and things I had hanging on my walls. They were spread out everywhere before and just looked terrible. I placed them in a way I liked and put them on the wall like this. The tv and tv stand are also center on the wall, so I used that as my center for the photos.
Tumblr media
This my bed. It is opposite the tv, so it is also center, and yeah, ik, no tapestry. They delayed my order until February even tho I ordered it back in December. #nothappy. But the duvet I got off of wish kind of cheap (about $20) and it came with 2 large pillow covers. I got the gray and white toned pillow and the straight black pillow (which you cant see) from wal-mart as well as my gray sheets underneath. The small pillow came with the throw hanging at the end of my bed. Those were from Dollar General for $15. So cute right?
Tumblr media
You already know I got these expensive looking shelves from Goodwill, cha-ching! They were like $2 a piece (except the smallest one, it was $1). The glass jar thing that my aloe is in also came from goodwill. I got 3 of them for 50 cents a piece and they are perfect for my succulents.
Tumblr media
This is where my extra furniture disappeared to in order to make room. This actually became more convenient for me though, because my clothes and extra shoes are in both pieces (or displayed if they don't fit, lolz). I also have this shoe rack I got from dollar general a while back, super space-saving, I recommend one.
Tumblr media
LAST ONE!!! I bought these organizers from dollar tree and they are life savers. I had to sell my dresser with my bunk bed because they went together, so I am drawer-less. So I just put all the clothes that were previously in my dresser into my closet. (I also got rid of a bunch of clothes recently, these were both full before).
That is it for my room.

Room Perfection
When putting a room together don’t spread your photos and things everywhere around the room. Organize the photos on the floor in a way you will admire and place them on one wall in that fashion. This makes the room look more put together and organized.
Headboards can be anything you like, but are a must. A headboard can be a small part of the wall you paint behind the base of your bed, or, like mine, a small tapestry to match my duve. You may even put your photos one that particular wall.
Don’t over-purchase organizational things. I almost did that during my small shopping spree for my room, but a lot of things were unavailable to me, such as paint and stuff. In the end I did not even need more organization to make my room look nice, just moving some furniture.
Closet space. If there is extra closet space, put clear drawer organizers in there, or anything similar. I did this and it made my room seem so much larger, but I still have all my stuff easy to get to.
Center your bed and tv. The room looks way more balanced when the bed is center on the wall and if your tv is lined up with the center of the bed.
I will post pictures of my room at a later date for you guys to ask questions.

RUG DIY
Okay, I am sure the majority of DIY obsessed people have seen the poof rug creation on instagram or pinterest or somewhere else. They make it look so easy, but tbh, it is far from easy. But that is why I am here to help.
For starters, this rug takes absolutely foooorrreeevvveeer!!! Try to gather some friends or family to help make poofs, I asked my mother to help and she really enjoyed it.
Secondly, I believe the one video I saw on these says to wrap around a fork, but please do not do that. Your poofs will be suuuper tiny and this will take even longer. Wrap the yarn around your entire hand loosely. And dont only wrap it 15 times like the video says. I had to wrap the poof about 30-40 times in order for it to even begin to look like a poof.
Okay, so how do I make a poof rug?? You will need at least two things of yarn of your choice and one of those nonstick rug mats with the holes in them. I already had some black mats here, but I have seen them at dollar tree in white.
If you want your rug to be large or round rather than small and rectangular, you may need a couple pieces of the rug mat. You can tie the seperate pieces together with the yarn and it still holds up pretty well. Tie them together at the corners and every 3-4 holes. And, I know, that is time-consuming.
Make your poofs by wrapping the yarn around your hand 30-40 times and then cut a small piece of yarn to tie around the center. KEEP THE ENDS OF THE TIE IN YOUR HANDS!!!!! I cannot stress this enough. You cant tie the poof onto the rug with just any of the string cuz you will pull the poof apart.
Primp the poof by making all the yarn ends about the same size. Then, tie the ends into the holes. Do the corners and edges first and make the ties close to the edge, about 1-2 holes away from the edge. When you are filling in the rest make the poofs about 3-4 spaces away from each other, this will prevent holes where you will see the mat, ew!
That’s all for today! will be posting more often now that school is over!!

Tips to keeping organized
~always keep your room tidy by putting clothes and other things away~
~try to designate a specific place for different kinds of items; ex) all my incense goes in the top drawer of my mini locker~
~TAKE BREAKS DURING CLEANING!!!!!-- I cannot stress this enough, if you are a clean freak and just adore cleaning, go ahead, but if not then you need to take breaks to relax and drink some tea or something, check tumblr or pinterest. Most importantly, take breaks to assess if you like how you are doing things; if not, change it.~
