kind of obsessed with the idea that in his more mellow sunset years (like 30 lol) illumi has less of a desire for complete control over killua and takes on a more common kind of manipulative love. like the white mom that beg her adult kids to come home and buys them swimsuits cuz they did swimming when they were 15 and it is sooo ugly and the kid hasn't even been swimming in years and they are so bad at faking a smile and the mom immediately breaks down and ruins the family dinner by locking herself in the bathroom and threatening to kill herself because no one appreciates her. the kind that looks up the lyrics to the song the kid plays in the car because she knows they'd never share that with her but she still has this unanswered desire to be close to them in any way she can scrape together and so she has a secret playlist called Summer Jams and will act surprised when it comes on at dinner like Oh I just found this? You like this band? The one you've had a poster of in your closet for 10 years? Woah... And that sparks a fight over their (lack of) privacy and again she locks herself in the bathroom ruining the barbecue and doesn't come out until her husbands swears to her through the door 1000 times that no one hates her and this family wouldn't be able to function without her. the kind that texts the kid Good Morning <3 at 8:01am and if she doesn't get a response by 11:59 assumes they aren't coming to christmas and cries until she texts 911 We need to talk at 2pm. like just normal white mom isms who else agrees
