5 reasons why Ramon Salazar is my favorite Resident Evil villain
1. He's fancy
Gothic fancy, to be specific. Other Resident Evil villains tend to be so bland, but this guy spices things up. From the first moment he was introduced to the screen, we went, "What the hell?" And then we loved to hate him. Do I even hate him? I don't know if I can.
2. He's creepier than the rest
He might be a small guy, but that's probably what makes him creepier than other villains. You know what you're getting with Mr. X. He's big, he's strong, he's fuckin everywhere. Salazar? He's a dwarf with superhuman Las Plagas capabilities, security cameras, and minions. He wears makeup and colonial garb, laughs like a maniac, and you never know what he's gonna do next.
3. He's got a castle
Yeah, a whole ass castle and tons of wealth. Where did it come from? This booby trapped, historical masterpiece makes me want a full rundown of the Salazar family history. What dark secrets do they have? Probably some pretty dark stuff. When I play the game, I almost just wanna make friends with this guy and stick around. Who wouldn't want to live there?
4. He seems genuinely unbothered up until the end
Unless it comes down to the wire, you're not stressing Ramon out. He's a guy that knows how to take things in stride. Of course, this is probably just the result of being filthy rich and having unlimited resources at his disposal, but sometimes his arrogance and calm demeanor put me on edge more than the castle full of horrors.
5. He's a real person
Alright, not "real" real, but he's in-depth. He's not some two-dimensional villain with a shallow motive. Salazar's overall character backstory has got to be lore-rich and there's no question that he's got an ulterior motive for pairing up with Saddler. The Las Plagas would have been far less widespread if it wasn't for this guy, so he had the upper hand. If he'd survived, I wonder what his plans for Saddler would have been.
Who is your favorite Resident Evil villain and why?

everyone: what's your goal in life?
me: to write a story so soul snatching, so gut wrenching and so devastatingly beautiful that it leaves you crying at 3am when you have a 8am lecture/shift and it inspires people to write entire essays, to write entire fanfics, mood boards and playlists based on it.
